  • We will literily push it until it breaks or catches fire this season. Like said, we will share with you, everything we do this year. I will disclose anything from props, CG, angle of attach (drive height and angles), timing settings, batteries and cell count, just everything. Stay tuned for more, and join me in the quest for speed. We will push the Zonda to its absolute limits this year. It's held up 3 years, now it's the time, and we will spare no means and do whatever it takes to push this boat - go big or go home.
    Next stop is putting QS8 connectors on the boat, just to make sure it can handle the high load from the props we intend to try next. Note, i did run XT90 on the 105 mph run from 2020, so should not be your biggest concern.
    Thank you for watching

    Dear Emil, I am looking at ordering a TFL ZONDA. I have 3. questions that I hope you can help me with: 1.) Am I better off with CNHL G+ 70C 5000 or 600Ah packs? (60x50x147mm-886g) vs (4x69x170mm-1085g) 2.) Is thru hull cooling necessary? 3.) Am I ok with glas/Kevlar or is carbon an absolute advantage. Thanks for your help.

      Hi Christopher,
      1.) the 5000 packs is what i run. I have yet to try the 6000mah packs in it. Im afraid it will be too front heavy if i do so. But my boat is also very heavy from reinforcements.
      2.) Its not nessesary, Secret Squirrel runs just the stock 1 inlet rudder cooling with no issue, and i have the Dual pickup rudder from OSE. All good with temps.
      3.) I dont know how strong the carbon version is, i have the kevlar / glass version from banggood, and even reinforced, i have had damage on mine, and i have seen people split them when not reinforced. If you go for 100mph speeds with it, you probably be best off reinforcing both carbon and kevlar version.
      Hope it helped. Feel free to ask anything.
      // Emil

      @@EmilWilkensRC Dear Emil you have given me great info and saved me from incorrect spending.👍 I only have one other question, in your opinion, would there be any advantage using 4092 1650kv motors as opposed to the standard 3674 2075kv’s. Respectfully Yours, Chris Curry.

      Hi Chris,
      If you run 6S i would not go with 1650kv for speed runs. If you go with a setup that has 8S and 1650kv that would be crazy powerful for 1-2 pass speed runs. :)
      No worries, im always here to help out.

      @@EmilWilkensRC Dear Emil, I just better run 6s lol! OSE has the Carbon/Kevlar 3674 180A Zonda in stock for $200 more than a standard model from Banggood. What would you do? How is the carbon Dymoshop hull holding together? Thanks, Chris

    • @EmilWilkensRC

      @@christophercurry7410 its a tough Call on those two. The seaking 120A are really reliable, but the 180A have more punch… i have yet to see the 120A cut power, its just like they don’t have as much, where as the 180A cut the power when load is too high.
      The DYMOTORSHOP New Zonda is doing well, and i have flipped it two times. I have the Dual layer version, and so far no scratch whatsoever.
      I will run the new zonda and my Old TFL zonda back to back during the remaining season.

    Dear Emil, what is a good strut angle for your TFL Zonda? Like how much gap if you run a straightedge from the bottom of the hull out to the edge of the strut housing? Thanks for your advice.

      @EmilWilkensRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I run my drives more or less parallel with the underside. I adjust the CG more than the struts :)

      That is my recommendation at least 🙌🏻 i look forward to hear how it goes. If moving the cf forward is not enough to have the boat stay on the water, and the water is perfect, then you might want to consider bringing the angle on the drives down just a tad. But moving the drives is very tricky and even the smallest adjustment can have a huge effect.
      Good luck 🙌🏻

      Thanks ! I guess it’s personal weather people want to let go their setup or not. I like to give the community some basic knowlagde so they have an idea where to go with regards to prop size and all. So many variables that copying a setup basically is impossible anyway. I respect both. Thank you very much for watching. 🙌🏻

    Dear Emil, I tested the Octura X447 props that are cut down to 44.5mm and ears rounded. They spool up and work great for a 700ft straightaway. The boat setup was running wet and I got close to 80mph. Great acceleration.

    Hello Emil, I have a set of 4513 NAVIGA-2 3D Stainless 2-blades from Alex of DrProps. Would this be a good size for all-around running on a standard 3674 Zonda?

    • @EmilWilkensRC
      @EmilWilkensRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that would be good for 130-140kph. So good for very fast sports running. Could be a little Big for full pack runs. 40-42mm would be good for circuit/bashing.
