It's nice that it's short enough so I can get to my work as soon as I can.

Whenever I wanted to do something, I wasn't quite sure whether to look under Next or Focus, because the difference was not really obvious to me. But now it's crystal clear. Thanks!

Please explain to me what the difference is?

@@bradford-vts "Next" shows you everything that is up next, in all the projects, plus all the tasks that are not assigned to a project (but that are not in the "waiting" or "some day" list). So that's everything you *could* work on today. But the list may be very long, and maybe you can't do everything today. So you want to focus on a selection. You can click the star icons to add some of them to the "focus" list, so that acts like a list for things you want to do today, and you won't get distracted by all the other things on the "next" list. Tasks that have a due date, or a start date, appear in the "focus" list automatically, because they really need your attention. So it's basically a subset of things in "next" that you should be working on, or that you selected to work on. Hope this helps. :-)

@@GerbenWijnja Thank you for this. This is a summary of what I have made for myself from your reply.
"NEXT" shows everything that is up next (in all the projects & tasks unassigned to a project). The list can be very long - and clearly you won't be able to do everything today. So you want to focus on a selection. You could go through the list and star what you want to look at today.
When I'm looking at this list, I prefer to set its view (three dots) to "SEQUENTIAL NEXT ACTIONS"
"FOCUS" shows a list of things that YOU HAVE STARRED as important or have REACHED THEIR START/DUE DATE (because these things really do need your attention). It's a shorter more focused list than NEXT. And it is from this list you will want to decide what you work on today. In this way, you won't get distracted by all the other things on the "NEXT" list.
When I'm looking at this list, I prefer to set its view (three dots) to "GROUP BY PROJECT"
UNIFIED list: This shows your Next standalone actions, all incomplete Next actions from active parallel projects, and the first incomplete Next Up action of your active sequential projects in one group.
GROUP BY PROJECT list: This shows your Next standalone actions, followed by groups of active projects containing their incomplete Next actions.
SEQUENTIAL NEXT ACTION list: This shows a list of your Next standalone actions as one group, followed by a group of the next incomplete action of your active projects.
