Interesting history of Best Buy!.They seem to be one of the few retailers that are doing well. And i am not surprised because there aren’t many electronic retailers left. Thanks Eric!.😎
Worked at the Maplewood Minnesota store part time while in college from fall of 1988 to the fall of 1990 in the car stereo installation bays. Best job working for "The Man" that I've ever had. Got paid 40% of every dollar I billed (which translated to about $12.00/hr. back then), then some suit cooked up a plan to pay us less while making it look like we were making the same, at which point I left. Learned a ton and am forever grateful to the total pros around me who helped to launch me on my now career.
I worked for Best Buy just north of Detroit (store 412 represent!) from about 1998 until 2003 or so. We had such a blast and really loved what we did. I made friends with people that are still some of my best friends today because of that job/store. I know there's a lot of factors but it's been so sad to watch the continual decline of the company since then.
Oh yeah I remember first, going to a Best Buy buying CDs, music CDs, DVD movies VCR’s oh my gosh and also remember the good guys close circuit city closed and fries electronics from the Bay Area closed. Thanks for the videos.
I worked at Best Buy in the era when the ps2 came out. The bosses were really bullies about selling and making quotas. the only good part was seeing the new tv’s evolve and watching VCR’s disappear. They interviewed my boss for the ps2 release and I noticed the camera angle so I walked in behind him and pretended to shuffle things around do I could be on tv. lol
Who purchased most of the inventory of Hi Fi audio equipment from Sound of Music when stores closed ? I was told someone did and is selling New in Box vintage Hi Fi equipment.
Yes, we had a Best Buy here in Manchester Missouri on Manchester Road. They closed up over a year ago due to the landlord just wanted them out still an empty store that was my to go place even before that when I lived in Florida since the 1990s
I have the Dock. Traded a PS4 and GTA V for it and the kid threw in 10 games including all of the Mario games. I had bought the PS4 for $25 at a yard sale and $1 for the unopened GTA V. So basically I got about $1000 worth of Nintendo stuff for $26. That kid was happy! So were mine,
Yes, I remember the place I went two days ago.
nice

Yes, I was just there 2 days ago looking for LOTR in 4K. Instead, they had the Hobbit.
Update: I went back and bought the Hobbit trilogy in 4K. I'll watch it first before watching LOTR.
