Bro, 4 intricate perspective puzzles, in a perspective puzzle game. You’re the type of guy to leave a bad review when what you ordered isn’t what you expected. Your opinion shows your maturity.
Comment section looks like a Hate Club of Senua's Sacrifice. But being honest, it was one of the most enjoyable and immersive experience in my life. Seems like whatever this game is.. it's just nor for everyone.
I used to get irritated when people insulted games I liked. Than I found out me voicing a comment wasn't going to change anybody's opinion. Usually, everybody just started insulting me.
This is a story-telling puzzle game that explores themes that other AAA games have never explored, or at least not in this way. what did you expect?? Bloodborne 2????
You hit all the points why I hated the game too. It was zero fun and 100% frustrating. And ppl saying that if you don’t like the game, its bc you don’t understand it, all I can say is those ppl play games for completely different reasons than what I do.
Yeah go back to your call of warzone 3: warzone of warzones or whatever it is now so you can get the gaming equivalent of jingling keys you’re so used to
This game was a disappointment. The door-symbol puzzles were irritating pixel-hunting. The combat was decent, but that was not the focus of the game. The lore was limited and boring. This should have been a made-for-TV movie, not an interactive game.
My take -Too many long cutscenes that you cant even skip -too few combat encounters - too many puzzles with very little variability -sometimes a walking simulator (Did not finish the game/chapter 4 then quit)
One of the worst experiences i ever went through. This piece of garbage shouldn't even be call a game. Is miserable and not for the right reason. Gameplay is trash, terrible performances(on release date was my experience), pacing is horrible, puzzle are boring, repetitive and the same all the 9 or so hours. I couldn't find a single game aspect about this "game" to be enjoyable. I see the vision and understand what they were going for, but this wasn't it. End up cooking such a piece of junk. The best way to enjoy this game is by watching someone else suffer through the terrible aspect of this one. I can't even comprehend how and why this game got so many high grades. My theory about is that the only reason why it got so many 9 and 8 is because it mention "Mental Health" as selling point and for journalism is like their horny pill that make them rock hard and went into it being biased on a favor way ignoring all the issues with this "Masterpiece". I don't understand how and why Microsoft gave a green light for 7 years of development for his rubbish, but killed and rejected Tango Studio attempt for HFR2 People saying "Oh people who say they hate it is because they only play FPS and GTA". Just pretentious morons who try to be special. You want a good mental illness game? Psychonauts 1 and 2,Celeste,Night in the Wood, Short Hike. I can go on and on about games that deserves all the attention this "game" gets for being mediocre at everything that isn't visuals.
This exactly. HF Rush 2 would have probably made oodles more dollars than a Hellblade sequel. I suspec all these people saying the game is a masterpiece won't actually buy part 2 because then it will mean they have to do tediously designed puzzles all over again (not the fun zelda type). It's a shame Tango is gone now, they made such a quirkly looking fun and unique game only to be shown the door by a company that knows little about gaming, which is why they keep picking losers.
@@TheAbandonedAccount7just because he isn't American doesn't mean he can't speak english lmao. Also people have different opinions, you should learn to accept it
Guess what! Microsoft bought the rights of this game and they're making a exclusive for the XBOX. Now you can scan boring shapes and waste time like the first game but now is in 4k running at 60fps rs
I agree. The gameplay loop in Senua’s Hellblade is not enjoyable and it’s a shame because I really wanted to like this game. I’m on my 2nd attempt at playing through and it just feels like a waste of time… the slow walking / run animation and backtracking with no clear sense of WTF or WTF in a game that’s literally a sandbox of invisible walls implemented to restrict our character’s movement. Feels not rewarding and for the life of me, I cannot believe how much praise this game receives. It’s just not enjoyable or interesting to play even if the concept of what this game was supposed to deliver was. Poor execution!
@@shifterzx I still don't get how anyone could love this game. As he stated in the video it has no substance. There's nothing to collect, aside from that which opens the door and that's not exactly collection. No item upgrades coming from a DMC studio. No intricate combat, it's very barebones with basically knowing everything there is in 5mins. Another thing he mentioned to be true is the only reason this game takes any time is the bullshit puzzles of alignment with gates that open up new paths, even though it wasn't communicated clearly at the start of the game. People act like this game is a masterpiece because of the psycosis and mental health theme, which is interesting until it becomes annoying.
Its very telling that the people who disagree with you all seem to be highly up their own arse. Or their only experience with videogames have been the big AAA mainstream games from the last few years. This is the kinda game made by someone who didn't actually want to make a videogame. Its basically an arthouse film with tacked on basic gameplay & the most narrow FOV I've ever experienced in a videogame. Which when mixed with huge amounts of depth of field & film grain just hurts my eyes to play.
Its very telling when someone doesnt have enough basic intelligence to understand something so they call it bad. People like you have been around for decades, calling all sorts of brilliant film and tv shows bad. Lmao. Just say you're not smart, same difference.
Well, I disagree with this video, because I loved this game. But I also understand why people would dislike it. No matter the arguments, for or against, I think it's just a matter of preferences. If you seek something with more depth to its core mechanics, it is just not the right game. For me, narrative, actor performance, portrayal of mental illness are exceptionally well executed and are definitely much more important than gameplay. But I'm not here to force my opinion on anybody. Everybody has right to think freely about anything (especially when it comes to games, music, movies), let people enjoy the game, and people will let You have Your own opinion 😉 Have a great day!
You nailed it. I thought this game would be great based on the reviews. I quit a while ago. Couldn't remember why. Loaded it up yesterday, started from the beginning again. Within 30 minutes I remembered why I quit. Annoying forced cinematic stuff, all the voices that never shut up, but the worst thing for me by far were the "puzzles". They are terrible. I was hoping they were only in the beginning so I looked into it and... yup I guess it's the main thing in the game. How terrible. Puzzles are okay when you're actually figuring something out and they're fun. this is just running around on terrain that looks the same til you are in the right spot. Who thought that would be fun? that's horrible.
i was really annoyed at having bought this crap because of all the stupid reviews saying it was awesome. Never have i felt so much like i was wasting time playing a video game.
This game is so boring and headache inducing. Just because it deals with mental health it gets a free pass. I don't understand how anyone can like this. Yes it's a great concept on paper but it's so poorly executed. Ninja Theory's potential is completely wasted and sadly they are making a sequel.
Well said. It must be really interesting to know why people like it. Many of the issues were of the kind that usually get flagged pretty early on in playtesting. Take the Fenrir boss fight as an example. There is no form of indication, visually, or otherwise to tell you how close you are to slaying it. Now this could actually work in some cases but not when the fight is a repetitive and buggy (I once spawned without a sword) merry go around of dodge and attack. There is plenty where this came from. If as a kid, you ever clicked repeatedly during loading screens to magically make time pass more quickly, you can think of this game as doing that for 7 hours to go from one boring cutscene to another.
The fenrir boss fight is pretty terrible, I have to admit. However, a lot of the people criticizing this game just don't seem like the right audience. The games meant to be atmospheric and story focused, so the puzzles provide time to take in the story and immerse you. The combat isn't the best but it's still fun for what it is and fairly satisfying.
@@TheScience69hearing voices is an aspect of many mental illnesses… that was one of the main aspects of the character and the game. Saying you don’t like it is fine, idc, sounds like the game wasn’t for you.
@@DOC_951 no....constantly hearing people whispering in your ear is not an aspect of mental illness. Wtf even is 'mental illness'? Do you mean psychosis? This is the issue. Too many dumb dumbs playing this game then assuming they are mental health experts, and pretending they liked it so they appear intellectual. It's a trash game for cosplay intellectuals. Who was the game for? People who like lining up symbols over and over and over? People who like bad combat? People with a high tolerance of annoying mechanics? No. It's for people who have never been around crazy people to think they understand what being crazy is like.
Combat mechanics in this game is by far the worst I have ever experienced. Tedious, repetitive, boring, bland chore. A complete lack of creative ways to deal with the enemies. Getting pushed back? Didn't doge right or enough? Didn't push back in time? TOO BAD, lets put a sight blocking wooden wall between you and your soon to die character. This game is a game play abomination.

game is defended more often than you think and their best points are: 1. Game is simulation of mental illness 2. Graphics are great 3 best story telling Last time i checked i wanted to play a game. if you want a narration or something like that going, make things new and interesting at every single curve. if i have done a thing 100 times already will i be interested in doing so again for just a tid bid of story that does not make sense or gets interesting at all.
I mean, it has one of the earliest implementations of 3D binaural audio in games and really fluid well animated/designed combat. This very specific over the shoulder style with a more one on one Soulsish approach would later be used in the newer God of War games. The mental health aspect and overall metaphor for psychosis with a mixture of Norse and Celtics mythology could be grading to someone not interested in history or a well written personal narrative but that beckons the question of why you would go into any game without knowledge of it's contents. It's a pretty graphically impressive game for an indie team pushing AA quality, especially for 2017. You can still tell In many if the close textures or small details that it was made on a budget but damn did they do well with it. All said at the end of the day everyone should do their research and know what they like. This is more than a mindless hack n slash and I love those as well you just have to know what it is you're playing.
@@mrbungle3310 sounds like your just butt hurt for no reason games trash simple as that combat isn't fluid puzzles are wack ass when theres multiple places that the devs didn't realise that they made that when their puzzles where done i can find 3 different angles to the first 4hrs of gameplay its not unique its boring and using everything from the first fight to the last over and over and over again theres a reason why multiple big youtubers never finished this trash ass game
It’s all personal preference, I loved the game… this and the Plague Tale games are in my top 5… different players enjoy different styles of gaming. I enjoyed sitting back and playing this game..
Agree. I even like story heavy games and visual novels. Hellblade has a really cool concept but it had too much 'game'. For every bit of story, you are forced to do the exact same puzzle over and over again. Then the horrible combat, which is the worst part of the game for me. I could not stand the combat, it felt so slow, tedious, and repetitive. If they removed the puzzles and combat and just made it a walking sim i would have liked the game a lot more. I dropped the game after 2 hours because i just had no desire to finish it.
2024 gaming has completly turned me off to female lead games. Yes sexist, but it is what it is. I never had a problem playing tomb raider, the Atelier games, etc, but ever since we started getting girl bosses in everything, I now am unable to take, a 120 lbs female using her sword to block a massive demon swinging a 2-handed sword. Just pulls me right out of it. I never had this issue until 2024.
This game objective to experiece the mental illness with a boring cinematic dull story....... dude i wanted to play a good game with good story tat makes me to fall love with the characters............ in this game there is only one character scenasuuaaaaa cmon her acting litreally feels plain..... with worst graphics other companies did better face expression to their characters.
Made it to the part where you are on the beach and have to interact with the four blue stones to solve puzzles. Got to the last one and as I was holding the W key (for about 5 hours total at this point) while walking through a pitch black room at a snail's pace, I immediately closed the game and uninstalled. Then I wondered how I had even made it that far. Thank god for Game Pass
bought this on sale for a few bucks..... found it tedious and boring and infuriating. only played for a couple of hours, just seemed like a walking simulator,
In this game you don't play, you waste real life time. I was so hyped to play after millions of gamers reviews saying that is masterpiece and all. I bought and man is bad... I mean, the game is basically a lot of really boring puzzles. The combat is not even combat, it's just some timing button pressing to makes you thing that the game is not a bunch of boring walking. 2 hours wasted of my life and some money spent. Deleted from my ps4 for good.
Ive played this game.. it's barely a game. Its use of surround sound, enviromental sound & graphics are very good. But the actual gameplay is dull, boring and repetative you have zero reward or upgrades there is nothing this brings that makes me want to jump back in and keep playing. It feels like a budget was applied then half way through got told they need to cut costs so they pulled all possible festures out and kept it basic
This game is the most linear thing I've ever played. You don't explore anything, you don't make decisions, you just walk in a straight line and face boring, repetitive puzzles and repetitive combat. You just play an interactive movie and nothing else.
I bought this for $5 and thought I'd enjoying playing something new during my new year. Wow it's terrible and ultra obnoxious. There's basically no gameplay with annoying nonstop whispering. Modern audiences really are clueless about what is a good game anymore. One hour of my life I will never get back. Pretty much a prime example of why modern gaming is trash.
I really like this game. And i can understand peoples problems with it. I at times found the puzzels boring but i really enjoyed my time with it. Its not for everyone and thats good, too many games now try to be for everyone and im glad hellblade didnt try to apeal to the wides audience. I found it to be an amazing experience with a unique style and feel to it.
Nah, not a horrible take. It really is awesome. The people complaining don't understand it enough. Just finding stuff to complain about because it isn't some Elden Ring shit.
People who says that this game is horrible have not understood what this game really is. It's a narrative masterpiece and it is not another soulslike stuff!
no shit people hate it for not trying anything yes its a narrative but its labbling itself as more than that from the start and just because theres fighting in a game doesn't make it a souls like the game was portrayed as grappling with mental issues with good fighting puzzles and story telling the game actually is broken fighting puzzles listen to some screaming listen to your dead friend rinse and repeat until game is finished thats not a game that's an interactive movie asura grabs my attention more than this
Nothing new. This has been happening to film and tv shows for decades. Its so obvious when you see it. Clearly something brilliant, and its being spoken about as complete opposite? The people criticizing it dont understand, simple.
I have now played a few hours on Hellblade. After finding it really boring and not wanting to waste my weekend, I searched the web for recommendations and solutions and came across this video and I must say I totally agree. Actually I was relieved not to be alone as well as relieved not to have to write a long thesis because this video says it all. Back to reality. Hellblade was on offer on Steam, probably hoping that more people would notice it now that Hellblade 2 is on it's way. With that said, I am now certain that I should not invest in the second release. Thanks to Steam and the great offer.
Tutorial about how develop a masterpiece game: 1- edgy character: make sure your mc is "relatable" 2- psychological narrative: add a lot of mental easter eggs that only a phd psychoanalyst/game journalist can understand. It will grant 90% of the sucess 3- cutscenes as much as you can add between gaming moments: your psychological narrative will need cutscenes, so people will have head aches from trying to undertan- i mean, enjoying your movie
This video echoed my experience completely, and I initially thought the concept was really interesting. They blew it. Ninja Theory has no concept of gameplay or even worse, level design. The combat was decent at best, but I agree even that became muddled. If you told me this was an indie developer that somehow inherited a graphical mega team and an enormous budget I'd believe it in a second. When I learned Ninja Theory was a veteran powerhouse I gasped. This was not given an honest playtest.
The combat system is so basic it feels like you're playing some bad indie game on steam greenlight, the story is boring the puzzles are EXTREMELY boring, the constant whispering is annoying, the graphics are ok I guess, enemy types are boring, 0 redeeming qualities fr. 20% walking simulator 20% bad indie game fighting 60% tedious puzzle solving.

For sure it is not for everyone, someone who’s familiarized with souls like games and others that are more fast paced sure would not enjoy Hellblade that much, but saying it is a horrible game, a bad game or something like that is just wrong, maybe you did it get what the game was about or understood what it is, but yeah, it is not for every player

This review is exactly what I felt while playing. I really don't understand how the game has so many positive reviews and how everybody sees it as a "masterpiece". Is the only game that I don't feel bad about not finishing it.
The masterpiece part is because of the psychosis thing, the story, and the artistic design. Did you not at least check out the last fight? Also the absoulte dread, fear, anxiety the game creates because you think you will get permadeath.
I felt the same way, I mean it was a good try, but still my time was wasted. I enjoyed the graphics, the sounds, and the combat mechanics. But the puzzles, the lack of progression, repetitive and overhyped mental illness stuff. I don't share sympathy, know or even care about the character. She is a lunatic fighting random things in her mind. I have seen that in many games already. I wanted to know what's so special about Senua. I feel it's a waisted opportunity for something more transcendental. So much unnecessary drama. Hope Hellblade 2 make some progress? Oh, and this game reminds me of Scorn, another so bad I don't know how I finished it.

@@heatblast-up4tf ok, you’re looking at this game in the wrong way. It never claimed to be a ‘combat’ game, you even said it yourself, it’s a game about a narrative surrounding a character with mental illness. It’s meant to be an interactive story, not an open world, RPG game… if you want that, then go play a game like Assassins Creed, dark souls or whatever. Stop trying to fit this game into a category it never claimed to be. And if you don’t like it, who cares? Many people do like it. And who are you to say it’s depiction of mental illness is ‘wrong?’ That’s a shitty thing to say, they had 5 different psychiatrists help them with the game. They have way more knowledge and experience of mental illness than a stranger on the internet. And really? Youre letting kiddy TH-camrs with a young audience who praise dumb games like FNAF, Minecraft and Roblox decide if a game is good or not? 80% of the community of those channels you just mentioned are under the age of 18. Besides the point, when I used to watch those channels, they rarely complete any games. They jump onto the next big thing because yeah, it gets more views. Maybe someday when you gain some empathy, you can appreciate what this game really means
The story is the game, if you dont appreciate that then you're going to have a bad time. The symbol puzzles had a purpose, as they were related to her psychosis and how they perceive the world. If you saw it as tedious and, like someone said, spent 9 hours on the game because of the puzzles, i think maybe admitting defeat and getting walk-through help should have been your next move. The game, if the puzzles are done perfectly, is only about 4 hours long. Personally i think the game belongs in a museum as a work of art, but if a meaningful story heavy on metaphor isnt what you're after then this isnt the game for you, though going so far as to make a vitriolic video review, trashing the game, only says one thing to me: you didnt get it, and thats fine.
If a game is not replayable or fun, than thats a bad game I think the story was fine, the norse lore was great and pretty damn accurate in most places, the combat was fine as well, but way too simple Now that said. Thats only 40%of the game I finished it in 5 hours, and I think the game without the rune door puzzles would be much better I dont think psychosis can be shown by walking left than right trying to unluck doors Super boring, I wouldnt recomend it to anyone
The game is one of the best stories I’ve ever played. I’ve noticed a lot of these negative reviews come from people who aren’t apart of the audience this game was designed for. If you aren’t truly an empathic person, you’re going to hate the game. But if you are, you can appreciate how deep and invested the story is. This isn’t a game about RPG, skilled combat, open world exploration or whatever. If you came into it with that mindset, you’re definitely not the right person for it. Despite the few negative reviews, it has a lot of great ratings online because most people can appreciate for what it is, and not fit it into something it never claimed to be. Edit: the puzzles are not that bad at all, they make you think. Play Resident Evil if you want annoyingly hard and repetitive puzzles
Nope, I hate to say it but the review was spot on. The concept was incredible, but if you came for gameplay even a little bit this was a very pretty but annoying maze puzzle.
It's a psychological drama and walking sim that externalizes affliction and torment on the Northmen (Vikings), not a high-octane hack-n-slash. Some live it for what it is, orhers hate it.

I'm an artist, hobby writer, and autistic. This gameplay is beyond expectations and has been on my radar since its release. I finished it in three sessions. It is drawn out over a series of chapters. What Hold Start fails to realise is the connective tissue within the narrative experience and gameplay mechanics. It is probably the only video game to date, that I know of, worth creating a class around. That might sound boring, but the way everything is artistically nuanced, it allows a person with an analytical mind to have fun studying the setting and character development. I don't purchase games for their gameplay mechanics or variety of bosses or how you could explore for hours on end. The story is the most important aspect, then the world's atmosphere, and then gameplay. If a game has zero perceived story or continuity of story: Halo 4-6, League of Legends, many sports games, Fortnight, they aren't worth my time. If I have to grind for hours before a resolution in the story takes place: any MMO, Assassins Creed Games, or Total War Warhammer, I just don't have time for it.
Go watch movies then. Not to mention there are better story games than this. Life is strange 1 and 2, Detroit become human. Try those and let me know if this trash game is better.
2001: A Space Odyssey is a great example of this. If you're an artist its an amazing movie to study. If you just want to watch a movie, its one of the most boring pretentious trash heaps out there. If you want to play a good videogame, avoid Hellblade like the plague. If you want a piece of art to study then eat your heart out. I love story in games also. But this is nothing special. But I can also love a game just for its gameplay. Like with the Monster Hunter series. Games are not books, they're not movies. They are writing, visuals, music & interaction rolled into one. There are multiple parts of a game that are important, not just the story. Considering the games you list are all generic mainstream games. I'm assuming you don't have much experience with videogames in general? You seem to have a very boomer understanding of them.
Indeed, a game is successful to me if it succeeds to give the message, feeling or experience it intends to give, wether it is fun or not. And this game does it really well.
Have yall ever stopped for 2 seconds to think about the fact that not everything is made for you? 💀 like… if it’s not for you then that’s fine but you just sound childish ranting like this lmao
Have yall ever heard of the word redundant? Because that's what this game is with the terrible puzzle structure. If the puzzles were enjoyable that would be one thing, but they chose something insanely boring as a pretense.
I think a lot of people disappointed expected a different, action adventure style game. But they didnt market it that way. They documented every choice they made and presented it for all to see, throughout the years of development. It’s a short, indie game that’s meant to show a unique character perspective. Agreed with the TH-camr that the puzzles are a little repetitive, but it’s only a 6-8 hour game, anyway. Since the developers were a handful of people, there only being a few enemy types doesn’t surprise me. Enjoy it for what it is or move on. I don’t understand how people can be so full of hatred and anger about the creation of a game that’s exactly what was promised.
I mean if all your doing is trying to catch parrys and hitting x then yeah combat will be repetitive. Using the melee to kick an enemy while they are winding up feels pretty good as well as charging at someone and hitting heavy attack. And anybody who's tried this game will know that combat feel in this game is very good. Which is more important to me than how much crap you can do. And yes you can back up in combat that's asinine. There's no combo list so I think many people who complain about the combat didn't explore it to the full extent. And honestly not every game needs a million combos. And as for the story. Well I read that there is a certain percentage of the population that does not have an inner monologue. This game is not for those people! Also not for people with ADD. The plot itself is simple but that's not such a bad thing. The narrative is much more in the writing. The writing and voice acting in this game is amazing tbh but you sometimes have to actually think about what they are saying. The thinking part will turn off a certain amount of people Door puzzles were fine. It's just trying to get you to look at the environment in a different way. Didn't feel like it was frustrating or took too much time.
This game was a literal masterpiece all the people talking crap in the comment section have brain rot with 10 seconds of attention span have fun playing stupid games lol
This is what happens when all you know about games is shooters and gta. Hellblade is a masterpiece. And you saying this game has no nothing to offer says it all. Some games are more than games fam when y'all reach that level y'all will understand. Drop call of duty and gta for a while. And try mass effect, witcher 3 rdr2. You want to turn off the voices?… you mean remove the main theme and direction/hint/world building aspect of the game? You would have had no idea what was going on or even what to do or where to go without the internal voices. Idc if you dislike it, but you’re literally asking for the game to not be what the game is. Also, you’re in the small minority hating it (which is obviously fine)
I really thought it would be a great action game like "Heavily Sword" was, but I was disappointed. Now, I just play the games blindly because over the years, I would watch the trailers, and it doesn't deliver when I play it. I thought it was cool understanding of her hearing voices in her head and all that. But when you just walk around looking at things to open doors and not do anything else, it isn't the best thing to do. I'd rather play the new Doom games than this because you'll have fun. Story and gameplay are two different things. The story learning of the history of the Norse gods sounds cool. But when the gameplay isn't anything, the game will suck. Example Syphon Filter for the PS1 is a fun 3rd person shooter with a story. Go complete objections and stay alive. A game that was made 25 years ago seems better to me than a game that was made in 2017. But people will still tell me I don't play real games or something of the sorts. This video explains everything that needs to be said.
It's a homemade game, nothing special Fact, I am here cause I get bored and how you know your progress. If still long way remaining I will stop playing
It's not about the gameplay. It's focused on the story and her phsycosis. You're just too small minded to understand it. I would only agree with the idea that it shouldve been a movie. But other than that you didn't understand it at all😂
Obviously if you're thick as a brick, you won't be able to appreciate all the things that lie outside of your comprehension. There's more outside, don't be scared and take example from Senua. 😉
This game was a disappointment. The door-symbol puzzles were irritating pixel-hunting. The combat was decent, but that was not the focus of the game. The lore was limited and boring. This should have been a made-for-TV movie, not an interactive game.
Sony games suck...they just use "well its a schizo simulator" i dont care because the games are stupid puzzles with no gameplay, people really eat up shit like this and god of war reboots
The first and second time I did this puzzle, I had enough.
I thought, is this going to happen every single time??
A: Yes!!
You can like whatever you like tbh, but most people enjoy video games with game on it.
To me this is what haters claim the last of us is. It's boring af.
Immersive? Bro, the game is like 50% cinematics. It is desperately trying to wrest control from the player at every opportunity
Funny how "not for everyone" seems to be the nº1 excuse for bad games when they get criticized...
But hey, different opinions
I used to get irritated when people insulted games I liked. Than I found out me voicing a comment wasn't going to change anybody's opinion. Usually, everybody just started insulting me.
This is a story-telling puzzle game that explores themes that other AAA games have never explored, or at least not in this way. what did you expect?? Bloodborne 2????

You hit all the points why I hated the game too. It was zero fun and 100% frustrating. And ppl saying that if you don’t like the game, its bc you don’t understand it, all I can say is those ppl play games for completely different reasons than what I do.
Maybe you should stick to fortnite then, little guy. Sounds like its not the game for you

The second one is so much better. The fighting mechanics feel/look smoother. Everything about the second one gives me chills, very immersive
My take
-Too many long cutscenes that you cant even skip
-too few combat encounters
- too many puzzles with very little variability
-sometimes a walking simulator
(Did not finish the game/chapter 4 then quit)
Why the hell would you skip cutscenes in a game that's completely focused on the story?
I don't understand how and why Microsoft gave a green light for 7 years of development for his rubbish, but killed and rejected Tango Studio attempt for HFR2
People saying "Oh people who say they hate it is because they only play FPS and GTA".

Hurts your eyes? Bahahaha you sound like a baby. What a weird complaint
Agreed

I just found it too anoying to finish. I didnt need literal constant whispering and shouting in my ear.

@@DOC_951 no, mental illness is not when you hear people shouting in your ear non stop.
This game is a game play abomination.

game is defended more often than you think and their best points are:
1. Game is simulation of mental illness
2. Graphics are great
3 best story telling
Last time i checked i wanted to play a game. if you want a narration or something like that going, make things new and interesting at every single curve. if i have done a thing 100 times already will i be interested in doing so again for just a tid bid of story that does not make sense or gets interesting at all.

I really liked the story, but the gameplay sucks. Zero fun unlocking doors, every enemy looks the same.
repetitive, slow, dull, and pretentious . . . and the story wasn't even good.
So boring game, i uninstalled this garbage

2024 gaming has completly turned me off to female lead games. Yes sexist, but it is what it is. I never had a problem playing tomb raider, the Atelier games, etc, but ever since we started getting girl bosses in everything, I now am unable to take, a 120 lbs female using her sword to block a massive demon swinging a 2-handed sword. Just pulls me right out of it. I never had this issue until 2024.

I have now played a few hours on Hellblade. After finding it really boring and not wanting to waste my weekend, I searched the web for recommendations and solutions and came across this video and I must say I totally agree. Tutorial about how develop a masterpiece game:
1- edgy character: make sure your mc is "relatable"
2- psychological narrative: add a lot of mental easter eggs that only a phd psychoanalyst/game journalist can understand. It will grant 90% of the sucess
3- cutscenes as much as you can add between gaming moments: your psychological narrative will need cutscenes, so people will have head aches from trying to undertan- i mean, enjoying your movie
to me it worked perfectly
This video echoed my experience completely, and I initially thought the concept was really interesting. They blew it. Ninja Theory has no concept of gameplay or even worse, level design. The combat was decent at best, but I agree even that became muddled. If you told me this was an indie developer that somehow inherited a graphical mega team and an enormous budget I'd believe it in a second. When I learned Ninja Theory was a veteran powerhouse I gasped. This was not given an honest playtest.

Its not a game it should he called an interactive cutscene

Lmao dude, you were supposed to dodge during that fight, pretty sure you can't block his big ass sword. You were just supposed to spam dodge...
@@infamousshinkicker6924 i said fire fight for surtur so still doing the trials not surtur himself game completely bugged out for multiple tries where blocking would only send you reeling and coughing vsing normal enemies even with a perfect parry
Lmaoo get good
Overrated game
This is one of the best game I've ever played. In fact, i'm planning to have series s just to play the senua's saga.
You haven’t played many then
This game was a disappointment. The door-symbol puzzles were irritating pixel-hunting. The combat was decent, but that was not the focus of the game. The lore was limited and boring. This should have been a made-for-TV movie, not an interactive game.
Game is weak but it's xbox trying to survive
Too censored.
I agree. I uninstalled this game, because it became so damn repetitive with the puzzles.
The game is not meant for (fun) it’s a story game you play to watch basically the whole point if you don’t enjoy it then don’t play it
Indeed, a game is successful to me if it succeeds to give the message, feeling or experience it intends to give, wether it is fun or not. And this game does it really well.
What you just said there “the game is not meant for fun” is all I needed to read. That means the game is BAD.
Just tried this, it’s hot garbage.
There is literally 0 fun in this game, gosh play "a plague tale" and compare to this shit
The thinking part will turn off a certain amount of people
Door puzzles were fine.
So you'll know what the word "experience" is
It's repetitive and the constant whispering and shouting in your ears is just annoying. And I play a LOT of games. Its trash and people only claim it's good to appear deep and knowledgeable about mental illness. And you told him to jump off cod and play 3 of the most mainstream games possible outside of cod and GTA. One of them is literally GTA with cowboys, made by the same people. 😂
@@TheScience69 see? exactly what i tought. If you think rdr2 is literally gta with cowboys means you dont know sht. Go play your other games ma boy. You know A LOT
@@nissanmanfred lol red dead is LITERALY GTA with horses. Same mechanics. Same engine. Same hud. Same gameplay loop. Same everything. Face it Tyrone, you made yourself look dumb.
@@TheScience69 im not even a rockstar fan what you're missing here boy is the fact that rdr2 is just more than horses and whatever comparison you're making. Put me one gta game that has the story/ gameplay/ world details / and most important EXPERIENCE of red dead redemption 2 on the table and then we'll talk. Hellblade will bore you because you went playing that thing expecting something that you're already used to in games just like your answer above (lol red dead is the same as gta same mechanic same engine same bla bla bla) and you forgot the word it gives you the experience no gta can give . Is like me telling my 30 yr self (yooo mass effect is just like fortnite, you use powers, its 3rd person shoot, you can change gear and guns) and you said i made myself look dumb? Lmao im out
@@nissanmanfred lol where did I say it's GTA with cowboys because they have the same story? How old are you? Cz you ain't 30.
Just finished it so annoying to play no fun at all 2 better be better
Well…
Came just to downvote
Yeah, the game isn’t for everyone. But it’s by no means a bad game.
It's a homemade game, nothing special
Fact, I am here cause I get bored and how you know your progress. If still long way remaining I will stop playing
It's not about the gameplay. It's focused on the story and her phsycosis. You're just too small minded to understand it. I would only agree with the idea that it shouldve been a movie. But other than that you didn't understand it at all😂
“It’s not about the gameplay.” Dude, it’s a game, what are you talking about?
Yeah, Im not big fan of buzzle games, I hope sequel is better.
You are just looking for reasons to hate it... how could it get repetitive if it is like 10 hours long. I was done with it before it got annoying.
Very boring shit
I downloaded to my legion go combat totally shit and puzzles bothering all game u re witnessing one psycho girl's drama
When you're not smart enough to understand something, be sure to call it bad. That'll show them
Your complaints about the gameplay are fair. Whatever you said about the story, horrible take. Try to actually pay attention next time lol.
Someone missed the point...
The author is a…..I don’t even know what to call him. It sounds like he doesn’t like anything. He probably judges acting ability in p0Rň
L take
Blatent terrible opinion! 😂
Obviously if you're thick as a brick, you won't be able to appreciate all the things that lie outside of your comprehension.
There's more outside, don't be scared and take example from Senua. 😉
And funny thing is: the sequel is even worse
nah
This game was a disappointment. The door-symbol puzzles were irritating pixel-hunting. The combat was decent, but that was not the focus of the game. The lore was limited and boring. This should have been a made-for-TV movie, not an interactive game.
you might have a touch of the tism, the game is good
Sony games suck...they just use "well its a schizo simulator" i dont care because the games are stupid puzzles with no gameplay, people really eat up shit like this and god of war reboots
bad take bro
