That elephant is sick! Just...damn. I would have never thought that kind of organic, realistic design was possible in this game. Great, great job, Rudi! Beautiful!
A wingrider sounds great!! Maybe an underwater/coral/fish/maritime themed flying coaster would be great too though.... Orrrr a jungly terrain invert. Great episode again guys! #ThreeMoreTowers
OMG i rlly thought you were kidding about the loss of the first elephant......That sucks so much man. Also didnt expect a remake after that, once again you blew my mind. And i am DEFENETLY looking forward too see fantastic rollercoasters and where not to find them.
PHENOMENAL WORK RUDI!!! Those elephants are absolutely terriffic! The stone towers/mountains/pools for the the dive coaster are awesome too. Great work! Also more longer videos please! And maybe a birds eye view of the entire park so we can get an idea of where everything is and how it all fits together.
Wow I LOVE that elephant, Rudi! :O I don't know how you haven't lost your mind after losing the first iteration, and had the will to start over. I was about to comment what a greeble is, but Silvarret came first. BTW I knew that word thanks to Uthris and his Elite Dangerous park, so shout-out to him! One thing I'm less thrilled about tho, is the towers and scenery for the dive-coaster. For one, it's a bit over-the-top for Koali Beach, and two, it overshadows the volcano that should be the main and tallest focus of the park... So yeah, I'm a bit sceptical about all of this.
+KingRCT3 yeah, I had the same thoughts at least regarding the volcano. But in-game it's still the main point to look at from every point. I was always moving to around to make sure it will still be the highest. Though to the towers. After all, I like them, mainly cause I don't see any other possibility to support the area.
IN hindsigh, it's more the terrain that bothers me than the twoer themselves. But well, I trust you guys, you know what you are doing!... Right?... Right?! D:
Looks awesome Rudi, especially the elephants. My heart dropped when that RIP message popped up! But tbh, you made it even better the 2nd time so maybe it was a good job. But I'm sure you didn't think that after the amount of time you spent on it! Keep up the great ideas Rudi, it's like when you came on this collaboration you gave the others some great ideas too 🙂.
Silv, you where wondering what greeble was, greeble is just small misc parts to add detail to a model, with steampunk, that is pipes, cogs, etc. Its the type of stuff you just throw all over the place to add texture and depth.
Hey, maybe you guys should build some sort of dark ride inside the volcano! May help the fact that it's losing some attention as the focal point to the dive coaster. Love the stone towers and the elephant by the way!
I was really worried about the timelapse at the beginning of the video but it actually turned out great. I think a wing coaster is a good idea and I would also like to see an invert, a launch, and a hyper coaster.
Delady showed me yesterday the elphants and my jaw fell to the floor Rudi. Its INCREDIBLE, and im so sorry you had to repeat them becuase of steam sync :(
That pathing bug Silvarret put in his tutorial that they talk about in this video is the kind of thing Frontier should be looking at and saying "Damn, we should make that easier to achieve and have it as a feature" rather than something to be "fixed". Proves that plazas and realistic theme park paths are possible in the game.
You guys are awesome! Your creativity and artistry astounds me! You're always having trouble with frame rates and poly counts right? Has anyone suggested to Frontier to see about developing a 'flatten' or 'group' tool... so that once you've finished a building/weenie/art piece you could just combine all the components into one solid element? Reduce poly count, increase frame rate... life is good!
Warning: Long Comment Ahead 😀 ok first of all, i love the upload time and the whole video. man Rudi, you never fail to impress me. you and Spridley are definitely the kings of making characters out of small shapes. the elephants are so wow and I kind of agree to all of you, we need smaller objects, the smaller the objects, the more versatile it is to use. and yeah Rudi just to let you know, I saw your tweet on Twitter about the mishap and seeing you lose the whole progress and the first elephant is heartbreaking but I am very proud that you are determined to do it all over again. if that happens to me, I wont open the game for a whole week out of frustration. but so far I love this. and btw Rudi great job also for keeping the fire of the amourshipping between Silv and Lady, it really made me laugh. to answer Silv's question, yes I would like to see a wing coaster in a park, name it puffin and made a puffin statue wearing a straw hat and hawaiian shirt. lol. i just cant help loving puffins.
It bothers me that I keep on hearing Planet Coaster builders say stuff like "It doesn't matter, because in the end, it is only a video game". I don't see what really separates building something in planet coaster, and say, drawing in photoshop. Most people would agree that if you drew a picture in photoshop, that would be art. Yet for some reason I here time and time again people playing Planet Coaster, Minecraft, or any other creative games, and they seem to think that for some reason because it is in a video game, it is suddenly not art, and not important. I think that what you guys are creating is amazing, and anyone who can't see the beauty in the things people make in planet coaster obviously doesn't know what art is. I actually see video games as a higher form of art than some others, because it allows for art in motion that can be interacted with. In a single planet coaster park, you can experience it in multiple ways, and watch as guests use it. It makes me sad, especially from the perspective of a game designer to see people discrediting games, especially when those people are inside the gaming community. When people discredit their own creations in Planet Coaster and Minecraft, when those playing Kerbal Space Program insist that the game doesn't teach you anything, when those who play adventure games don't recognize the problem solving they learn while doing it... all of these things just make me disappointed. Video games have gotten such a tainted reputation over time of being violent and addictive that few try to recognize that there are great things in games. I've always thought of video games like drugs. If used irresponsibly, they can destroy lives. If used properly, they can save lives. Every time I hear a story of someone's life being ruined with games, I hear many more about lives obtaining meaning through them. Video games are like any other media. If you use it too much, and indulge in inappropriate content, it is going to affect you negatively. With other media though, we don't discredit the entire medium because there are some bad apples. We recognize the power that literature, film and music have, so why can't we do the same with games? I think that games are the culmination of all other forms of art. They take the visuals of traditional art, the storytelling of literature, they create amazing soundtracks through music, and display it all to you through the cinematography of film. Then they make it interactive. Nothing is going to change until we as gamers recognize that gaming is not just some time-waster. It can be for many, but there are so many games that are far more, and deserve to be recognized for what they do. I think that all you planet coaster builders are great artists, coming up with amazing creative ideas all the time. You guys create entire virtual worlds, and it pains me that you guys are pushing yourselves down, saying one of the sentences I hate most in this world: "It is only a video game".
awesome astronaut I agree with you to a point. Video Games are art. But then again it's not real. You can't physically touch the inside of a video game. You however are a artist because your working with different tools, putting things in place, writing lines of code so you can show off your end product for people to enjoy. It's like a painting. The artist paints it so in the end people can enjoy it. You devote your life to it and it's not under appreciated but it is however just a painting to the Recipient because you can't enjoy a painting forever. The same goes for all forms of art. Yeah a lot of time and effort was put into it and it's not under appreciated but in the end it's just a tv show or a painting or a video game and you can't do much with it after you do everything you're meant to do with it. You however as a artist can keep making these things for people to enjoy.
I very much agree with this - hell, I do put an obscene amount of hours every week building things in games and in-fact my go-to comparison to explain what I do is to liken it to painting or modeling - but what I mostly mean with it is to not forsake the one thing which makes a video game a GAME to begin with: the element of play. Don't force yourself to build a coaster if you don't know how or why, don't force to play Planet Coaster if you really don't want to, because it's just a game, rather than any kind of chore or a full-time job. In general though, Planet Coaster means a lot to me and I understand that it's the same case for others. That said, to me there's also a huge difference between what I do and what is actually art in gaming. I don't think what I do is art, it's a fun emulation and creative outlet, but there's hardly any expression, commentary or exceptional skill behind it, just a love for all things landscaping, planning and architecture. While I don't think a single park that's been built in Planet Coaster right now is art though, the video game medium definitely can be and in very unique ways. If you want to see Planet Coaster creations as art, power to you, but then we're talking about different definitions of art.
While we have differing opinions, I do see what you're saying with trying to keep planet coaster a game. Right now I'm doing graphic design in college, and while drawing was once something I very much enjoyed, now it is just more homework to do. I will note thought that I have a rather broad view of art. I tend to recognize art as any creative idea that has effort behind it and is pleasing to the senses. Just because I don't think someone should start hanging planet coaster screenshots in a gallery doesn't mean that I think they don't have value. What you and other people are doing in planet coaster is inspiring other people to be creative, and you're also teaching us about the history of roller coasters! I found myself watching one an hour long documentary on Arrow because of learning about it on your channel. I don't think that it is too much of a stretch to say that someone who's interested in building real world theme parks would learn a lot from you and other creators. But, I digress. We all play games for different reasons. You play them to use them as a creative outlet, and I am finding myself playing them so I can learn how to make them.
Silvarret hello. I don't think that Art is that thing that you can give a "channel" through which it has to be expressed. For me art is just something that is extraordinarily beautiful or creative. It doesn't matter if it is in a picture a sculpture or a Videogame. Something like Vulvora(?) definitely is art imo. So much efforts went into the building and the planning that I wouldn't argue about that. Also the elephants in the Video qualify for that just because they are so beautiful. In both cases there is also a artist behind the Objekt that had a vision of what he wants to do. So for me games can not only be an artform by themselves but also a channel to express art. Greets Silv and keep up the Art ;D
2 questions kelaris had his waterride not finished, like he said in his video "just work on outside ride not finished etc" and now who will finish it ? also the kelaris beach houses, are they gonna be intregrated in the whole view of the park more ? they are a bit out of the side now and also not look perfectly finished
We were thinking of both as well, we're hoping to add a gate into the resort soon and somebody will have to pick up the job of finishing the log flume - just haven't decided who's going to do it yet!
i suggested a wing coaster in the last video, with some really creative near miss elements. koali beach is an exotic park and location and it needs some more exotic rides. a wing coaster would fit that discription pretty well.
I would be in most favor to either a flying coaster, or launched coaster like manta in Seaworld San Diego. A coaster that starts off with a few dark ride scenes would be cool as well.
A greeble is a small detail added to a model to make it appear more complex and give it a sense of scale. often seen on space ships models. example, when you see close-ups of the Death Star in Star Wars, you'll see individual sheets of armor plating, little vents, Antennas, defense towers, and other little details liberally applied to the surface of the station. these are greebles. EDIT, ok, you figured it out yourself.
Your crew talking about performance got me thinking about how Planet Coaster is working down low. Most modern game engines support object instancing. Without getting into the nitty-gritty this means the computer can render an object once and then draw essentially unlimited copies of that object in one single pass. This means duplicate objects only have to be drawn once rapidly increasing performance. If you quickly search up instancing on youtube you can see some examples where people demonstrate this by rendering millions of duplicate objects without any performance hit. However, there are limitations to this, the biggest being that all the objects must have the same material, i.e be the same colour and use the same texture. Planet Coaster initially said they would not include the rgb sliders for objects, I don't believe they specified why. I wonder if they decided to do so later on but that made it impossible for them to use instancing which would affect performance. Maybe I'm wrong and they do have a method for instancing objects of different colours, I don't think that is too implausible... Also on one of the earlier videos, Silvarret mentioned that he really wanted translucent windows and how simple he thought it would be to implement them. The issue with this performance wise is that translucent materials in game engines are very performance heavy. They complicated the GPUs process of drawing a scene and can affect performance quite a bit. I am no expert on rendering pipelines, but I believe that the computation power for translucent materials is proportional to the screen area that they cover, so the small lights that have translucent materials shouldn't be too much of a worry, large buildings made of hundreds of windows would be. Anyways, sorry for the long comment, I know you all have lots to go through on each video! Just thought I'd share some of my understanding of how certain "simple" things to implement can have pretty drastic effects! It would be interesting to hear any of your opinions on the tradeoff between creative freedom and performance! ps. if anyone has any corrections to what I said please correct me!
And Btw I would enjoy seeing you building a multi launch coaster Silv' (taron like? huhuhu) with S turns and overbanked turns :D but it's probably not that enjoyable to build it ... (torque only bleh) "racer" coaster only allowed hydrolic launch and not both magnetic and hydrolic.
27:29 Offtopic but I always wonder why so many Gemans pronounce "Berlin" that way when they speak English. Every native English speaker I know emphasizes the second syllable just like it's done in German.
+ostrichz well, I guess it's because you're in the flow. I even say my name or the one of my friends in English cause it's simply hard to go back into German pronunciation
because you guys are talking about using art pieces, i don't know if any of you have heard of ChitChad but he made a video game (Sonic and Pokemon) themed park and it looks amazing. so there are a lot more people out there who can use the art pieces well than just the people you've heard of.
wat nouw al maakt de ladysigner de stations van de boomstam rivier en de banden river of ho die dingen ook heten dan hooft dat niet meer gedaan tew orden
It's a really impressive elephant but in all honesty, has no place in Polynesian themes. Southeast Asian, maybe but definitely not Polynesian. Other than that, I love this series even if it's 2 years old by now lol
Nice episode!
Wait who is going to lock me into a room? D:
I am a free bear!

Rudi Rennkamel you are an Amazing builder so is everybody
Looks awesome Rudi, especially the elephants. My heart dropped when that RIP message popped up! But tbh, you made it even better the 2nd time so maybe it was a good job. I have felt that pain. Great recovery and looking good! You guys (and gal) are the best. I really like this park and I love the commentary!
holy shit, those elephants are absolutely exquisite! so well made
dude, your dedication to those elephants!! they are amazing... can't wait to continue the journey with you all 😊
Wow, nobody mentioned the wrong title? Guys whats wrong? :-D Fixed it :-)
I had noticed it
I noticed it, but I also noticed that nobody noticed it - figured I could let it stay unknown :p
Greeble: Fine detailing on a surface, usually random cubes or other shapes, it gives the idea of lots of detail while being simple shapes.
I knew it, it was something like: "Koali Beach Cut15" ;-D
Rudi Rennkamel i have a little questions....you speak a little Bit english like a german Guy ...Are you from Germany?
when silv says "i don't think even nasa can prepare for this park" :D
The Elephants are just absolutely stunning.. amazing Work Rudi
I am loving the time-lapse at the beginning!
I mean the walking people!
awesome work as always, it's cool to see you being part of this project!
“I was sent here to keep the relationship alive”

Silv, you where wondering what greeble was, greeble is just small misc parts to add detail to a model, with steampunk, that is pipes, cogs, etc. Its the type of stuff you just throw all over the place to add texture and depth.
You, sir, are insane. In the most positive way possible.
Hey, maybe you guys should build some sort of dark ride inside the volcano! May help the fact that it's losing some attention as the focal point to the dive coaster. Love the stone towers and the elephant by the way!
Noicely done intro~ Keep it up folks~
Rudi Rennkamel makes the best sculptures really.
I was really worried about the timelapse at the beginning of the video but it actually turned out great. I think a wing coaster is a good idea and I would also like to see an invert, a launch, and a hyper coaster.
The Elephants are phenomenal! That monstrosity by the rollercoaster is not.
"Beautiful Coasters and where not to find them" Woooooooooow. Apply cold water to the burnt area :D
damn I would break everything if I had lost my work, props to your patience, but at least the 2nd one looks a lil better. fantastic, Rudi. ;)
I was having a bad day but this video made it a lot better
You guys need to make a wing coaster in this park! It would fit great in the theme of your park! It should be called the Hanglider or Windsurfer.
DeLadysinger is building a dark ride??!!!! YES!
i think she was talking about the darkride in her own park, DeLady in Wonderland. BUT a darkride here would be great too of course ^^
Warning: Long Comment Ahead 😀
ok first of all, i love the upload time and the whole video. man Rudi, you never fail to impress me. you and Spridley are definitely the kings of making characters out of small shapes. the elephants are so wow and I kind of agree to all of you, we need smaller objects, the smaller the objects, the more versatile it is to use. and yeah Rudi just to let you know, I saw your tweet on Twitter about the mishap and seeing you lose the whole progress and the first elephant is heartbreaking but I am very proud that you are determined to do it all over again. if that happens to me, I wont open the game for a whole week out of frustration. but so far I love this. and btw Rudi great job also for keeping the fire of the amourshipping between Silv and Lady, it really made me laugh.
to answer Silv's question, yes I would like to see a wing coaster in a park, name it puffin and made a puffin statue wearing a straw hat and hawaiian shirt. lol. i just cant help loving puffins.

Nice African elephant in the Asian zone
i liked the metal elephant :) the first version it looked ... different ,.. rly cool and u see stuff like that also in reality
still wood is cool
Those elephants are so awesome!
2 questions
kelaris had his waterride not finished, like he said in his video "just work on outside ride not finished etc" and now who will finish it ?
also the kelaris beach houses, are they gonna be intregrated in the whole view of the park more ? they are a bit out of the side now and also not look perfectly finished
i was also thinking of that

rip wooden elephant ;w; press f to pay respsects

It would be interesting to hear any of your opinions on the tradeoff between creative freedom and performance!
ps. if anyone has any corrections to what I said please correct me!
This is a very late reply, but thank you for this, it was quite educational.
The elephants were worth the effort.
lady and silv feel a lot like a couple here
+Gybbson Lesly lol
Speaking about old things, wouldnt some kind of ride in an old maia temple be nice?
My jaw is on the floor! 😧😯
silvysigner! Lavarret!
Wow, that elephant is amazing! But I'm not totally feeling the stone towers.
I'd like to see a classic American Arrow!
35 min Video OMG !! I 'm not used to it anymore ... only when keralis was playing haha
The elephants look great but I wish they were in a designated "Safari" park instead of this more Caribbean resort theme.
I would love to see a spinning coaster. That would fit perfectly to my opinion.
A kiddie coaster would be nice!
Or a launched coaster with jet ski or race boat theme
Do a flying over a lake with those splash effects on Krake! (at Sea World Orlando (?))
I would really like to see a wing coaster. If you do, you are incredibly lucky that a realistic counterpart exists to inspire you; parrot coaster.
Nice! Maybe you guys can make a safari train ride? :)
So sorry you lost all your hard work. The elephants are incredible. The towers do add some weight they are a great addition as well.
If you choose to do a wing coaster, it should be a launched wing coaster like Furius Baco at Port Adventura
Invert invert invert!
SILV SHOULD DO THE NEW INVERTED COASTER FROM THE APRIL UPDATE!!!
how do you get the paths like that
i think that any b&m other than a hyper or giga would be a good fit (so invert, wing, flyer or floorless) not standups either no guys would ride it
I would love to see an arrow looping coaster!!!
you all should start a new series, awesome work
The Elephant is amazing!
Just a quick question, when the park is finished will we get the cinematic video? :)
rudi was für ein spiel war das?
du sagtest nur noch"ja das is ein gutes spiel"
aber den rest hab ich nicht verstanden
Silv should make a dueling RMC coaster like Twisted Colossus in Six Flags Magic Mountain.
How Can you make a park Together with your friends?
27:29 Offtopic but I always wonder why so many Gemans pronounce "Berlin" that way when they speak English. Every native English speaker I know emphasizes the second syllable just like it's done in German.
+ostrichz well, I guess it's because you're in the flow. I even say my name or the one of my friends in English cause it's simply hard to go back into German pronunciation
I wanna see you build an Eurofighter with part darkride section +Silvarret
because you guys are talking about using art pieces, i don't know if any of you have heard of ChitChad but he made a video game (Sonic and Pokemon) themed park and it looks amazing.
so there are a lot more people out there who can use the art pieces well than just the people you've heard of.
I know him, and his creations are great. Tho I´m not a big fan of his pikatchu, but all the others are simply stunning :-)
Wow this elephant it Looks so god damn good :D maybe you could do some more ;D
Love the intro
silv what about steampunk island? do you still like to complete it?
back in the days you said that fun was lost all over...
Yeah, I'm chipping away with it but it's no bueno. A new episode is queued for tomorrow, actually!
happy you made it!
hopefuly you don't have to do much at that project so you can jump off to more exciting stuff
The mountain Rudi made gave me Uncharted vibes, idk..
What happened to keralis? :(
Do a B&M Wing Coaster like Swarm or GateKeeper.
There is a wooden elephant with a playground inside in the Dutch zoo "ouwehands dierenpark". You should have a look at google images rudi! :D
RIP ELEPHANT THE FIRST
OH YES DO A WOODEN COASTER AGAIN :)
13:20, talks about editing this part out. Yet, it's still in the video xD
+zombieLISKlizard oh right, forgot about it because of the struggle with the elephant footage
I kinda wanna see an Intamin Blitz coaster. It's not really been done
Haha I love Silv's enthusiasm learning the word is tusks. Is there a Dutch word for it instead?
Slagtanden
Literal translation: knocking teeth :D
I want to ride this ride so bad!!
Ooooooh, relationship. . . ;) j/k
wat nouw al maakt de ladysigner de stations van de boomstam rivier en de banden river of ho die dingen ook heten dan hooft dat niet meer gedaan tew orden
I would like to see an invert
hello i am a big fan ,your Park is sublime ,could you put it on the steam workshop
thank you
i woud love to see a relationship between silv. and delady.
is it just me or is there an elephant in the room? XD
rudi, could you make a peacock? if you can, we should bow to you haha
btw no words for the elephant except PERFECT!
すごい
Funny tho, its an african elephant in a tropical park
Straight up opinion here: wood elephant is better than art elephant.
Meaning the stone+logs was better than the planks, despite the time and effort
It's a really impressive elephant but in all honesty, has no place in Polynesian themes. Southeast Asian, maybe but definitely not Polynesian. Other than that, I love this series even if it's 2 years old by now lol
Wie kommst du nur auf diese Ideen???
