Great job hitting the basics here, echo. I would include that certain skills are more sought after, for every class, and thus are worth more in the market as well. Crossbow shot for Demon Hunter is a great example. Even if you're playing a barb, never salvage a charm with crossbow shot because that's a great one to rank up and sell. Also, you want the 5 skills you use on your charm, not just any random 5 barb skills. You could rank up a charm all the way to 5, be lucky as hell and get all 5 barb skills, and it could still be completely useless if the 5 skills aren't ones that people actually use. Lastly, it's good to note that some skills on a charm won't help you at all, even if you use those skills. Undying rage for example here. The skill itself doesn't deal damage, so getting a damage boost for it has no effect. There is, however, an essence in the head slot that makes undying rage counter-attack for pretty minimal damage. A damage boost for undying on a charm would only be helpful if you're using that essence. Instead, maybe add in another skill you use for a different build.
I have multiple characters with charms with 5 relevant skills. Took awhile but it's nice to see some teaching others how to do that. I didn't know it went up to 10%. The best I've seen is +6%.
Any chance of an updated video on this mechanic... but this time showing the % change from a lower current one to a new of the same skill? For instance... showing a 2% skill getting bumped to a 4or better of the same skill?
FINALLY a video that clearly explains this! I am one of the ones who’s just given up on it. I’ll get at it again tho and hope I have some luck. Thanks!
Thank you for this wonderful guide. I walked through the process and the first try I got 4 skill bonuses for my class. Each one at 2% but hey not complaining. I love the Videos keep them up.
My problem with charms from the very beginning is the profit is very small for a lot of effort. 2-4% increase for a lot of farming, hilts (if you buy them), plat, market etc. I'm a DH and I always keep only the DH ones with skills I still need to change. Never bought them or sold them, it ain't worth it imho.
Lol ECHO and I were chatting about Charms just before this video posted. "No Whammy!". You win some,.you loose some... But even on SS that you don't like, you can generally profit 400-600 plat minimally
So even though I have salvaged charms for dust.... If I attempt to upgrade a charm I like I run the risk of getting the very skill charm I destroyed with purpose?
What daily gives you Platinum? Do my bounties, riffs, contracts, etc and never get any platinum off any dailies which daily are you talking about that gives you Platinum?
PRO TIP: DO NOT burn plat or hilts on Charms. Do NOT chase high rolls. Charms are virtually useless. Their affect on damage are negligible, verging on pointless. They need to make the rolls higher and then make the increase multiplicative with other sources of damage increases instead of additive. Click the "i" icon while at the Charm NPC in top left. It literally explains the different parts of the system.
my skill, I struggled to make it perfect the way I wanted it, (Berserker's Fury, Whirlwind, Dash, Power Stomp and Lacerate).... best skill for a PVE Barbarian 😉 !!!
Charms system is the biggest broken money grab ever, I've made a ton of money off of selling charms but have literally never had any land in my favor for battribute to my charm. Thousands and thousands of Is platinum spent for nothing. It's Probably the biggest sham in the game.
I'm kind of confused on what Skills/Essences the Charm actually works. I got a random +8% for Sprint on my Barb, and thought I can use the Hell's Legacy Essence to have more damage with the trail of flames... but that unfortunately doesn't work 🥲
@larrythepinhead5591 it is higher. Just barely noticeable. Sprint with the fire trail doesn't hit that hard to begin with. Even a 10% boost is so minimal, it's hard to tell if added dmg on a charm really does anything. That's the sad truth to this. Can spend hundreds of thousands on plat getting all 10% and not even notice a difference.

What about Alchemical Powder?
Trying to imbue is bad for me as failed 6 times in a row and waste of platinum

Never even thought about that, next level

I really feel like the game needs better in game instructions on stuff like this.i was pretty confused as to wtf and where tf to get a "skill stone"
I feel the same!!
Same for me didn’t even know a skill stone was a thing until figuring out the market for myself too lmao
I'm in the same position
The confusion is not an accident…they’re not changing that strategy anytime soon. This is the CCP, not the original Blizzard crew we all loved.
The biggest problem the game has is that it is terrible at conveying information in a STANDARDIZED and transparent and also correct manner.
I actually love videos like this I feel like your walking me through the game and just learned all this today lol
Great guide! In just a few actions I got my ideal 5 buffed charm for monk build. Thanks Echo.
I had a grasp on charm crafting, but this cemented that knowledge, thanks.

Nice guide but what about no damage skills like teleport?
Ty for clearing this up for me.
So even though I have salvaged charms for dust.... If I attempt to upgrade a charm I like I run the risk of getting the very skill charm I destroyed with purpose?
whats skill dmg % chance i have to roll different percent
Thank you so much guys you are amazing,..
From 2% can jump in 10% whit one lucky imbue?or need to take 4%,6% ,8% and 10%?
any update to this?
Now then I understand. Amazing explanation.
This guide is extremely helpful, thanks a lot
Awesome I’m glad you found it helpful.

Idk what this says about me but watching him get a 3 out of 5 then getting hammer of the ancients all on luck had me screaming 😅
In building a charm for my monk I ended up creating a barb stone with a 6% and 8% skill and no way I was going to extract it.
Thanks for this video!
I’m the same way I had 3 chests completely full of charms and just scrapped them into dust.

Great video ❤️
Best ever in explanation... Love u echo
You need luck and prayers to gain 4-8 % and you need a lot of platinum to get 10%
Liking the content..keep it up

Yeah u aint gonna pull ahead of me on DI my guy nice try tho 😅. Trying to get me to stop playin so u can sneak and upgrade ahead uhh uhhh nope 😅
Too bad DH is not IN Diablo 4!!
Ma adesso non si possono più eliminare?
WTF are all those runes in his inventory though? Is this an old video or something before my time? Only been griding for two+ months.

That's exactly how it works...
+8% sprint damage DOES boost the fire trail damage from hell's legacy.
@@WhyTry321 Then I guess showing the same damage with and without Charm is just a bug 🧐
It won't show any higher number on sprint when looking at the skill in the menu. But the actual damage out in the world will be higher.
@@WhyTry321 Open World is exactly where I tested it, that’s the reason why I’m so confused…
