  • LetterNotePlayer © ~ For free download of .pdf with the piano Letter Notes, both hands, & bass progression go to: www.LetterNoteP... Demonstrates how to play the notes for the first two strains of Beethoven's "Für Elise" ~ step by step approach. Tutorial shows how to play the RH melodies, with LH bass notes & chords, as harmony for "Für Elise" by Ludwig von Beethoven - on piano / keyboard, in the original key. Demo uses a piano - sound setting on the keyboard. If you want to play "Für Elise" this video makes it accessible; perhaps having you play some of it in just a few minutes. This tutorial focuses on the 1st half of Für Elise. For instruction on how to play the final, more difficult strains of "Für Elise", consult my TH-cam tutorial - • How to Play ~ Fur Elis... - a very easy, step by step approach also supported by the Letter Notes at the website. Music notation .pdf for Für Elise is available for download from the website. Also - follow me on Twitter - LtrNotePlayer - receive tweets whenever I upload a new video. If you subscribe to my channel you will automatically receive notices every time I upload a tutorial - I upload quite often - always a requested song.

I am 61 years old and have never touched a keyboard before but always wanted to. Got a 61 keyboard for Christmas this year. I searched the internet forever and you are the best at teaching a person that knows no music. I am doing really well and quite proud of myself. One more thing, you are a very lucking man to have a wife that helps you so much in making these tutorials for us. Thank you very much from the capital city of Canada. No not Montreal or Toronto as many would guess but Ottawa, Ontario.

Thanks a lot! I start to play keyboard for two days and now I can play "Für Elise" with your help! I am so happy and thankful :-)
I can not read notes, but I put stickers with notes on my keyboard, to learn them :-) The last part are a little dificult for me and I don't have the good rhythm, but I try and try.

Happy to hear that! I had a theory teacher in college who always said, "In the final analysis, it's the sound that counts." I read music fluently ... it is a phenomenal tool, but usually there is no quicker way to learn to play a song quickly and accurately than by using the letter notes. So glad that you are playing well:) Keep it up :)

Yeah, sometimes I go too fast - My goal is always to go slow & explain everything well - but ... anyway - if you go to the website, download the letter notes - you can take it as slow as you want. All of the notes are identical to what I give in the video. It helps to put letters on the keys also if you get confused as to which note is which :)

@LetterNotePlayer THANK YOU!! What do the arrows mean? Since the 7 letters/notes repeat from one end of the piano to the other, how do I know where on the piano I'm supposed to be playing that particular note?
Having both the left hand and right hand is super useful. THANK YOU!!

    • @LetterNotePlayer
      @LetterNotePlayer  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

The arrows just indicate melodic or harmonic direction. If the notes are next to each other ... D E F ... no arrow. But if there is a leap of a 3rd or more I try to always put an arrow ... E A ... the arrow will show whether to go to the A above E or the A below E ... I do have a video up answering many of the frequently asked questions about the notation :). th-cam.com/video/DZBWuttUnoM/w-d-xo.html

You can play it on a 44 key keyboard. You just can't get the low octave E. You'd have to play that up one octave. And when all of the E's come in in the second strain ... just play it with the E's that you have :)

Try practicing the hands separately, then put them together slowly ... RH: G FED - F EDC - E DCB ... Each of those little phrases jump up a 7th ... G to F, then F to E, then E to D ... LH: will play G GB (jumping up an octave G - G), then A E A, then all of the E's. Print out the Letter Notes if you can - they will help :)

Neat feeling when you can say that!! I'm glad you have reached that milestone. Keep working --> I have lots more videos and info listed on my LetterNotePlayer website. If you don't see something that you are wanting to play ---> just write and ask me, OK??

Sorry :-( Try clicking on the settings button (looks like a little gear), then click on '.5' - that'll slow it down to 50% speed, keeping the pitches the same. My voice'll sound strange, but you can see it & hear it at a much slower speed. It also helps to download the letter notes from the website :)

Thanks a lot for this lovely and beautifully explained song on the synthesizer. I can actually understand every note you play. You've made it very easy for beginners to understand such a complex song 👍🏻

A little tip for those just now trying it. When doing the e d do it five times end on the e for the fifth time and then play through it. It's how I remember.

This song is so beautiful. I love and that is why I want to play it. I have my own keyboard so I can play it. Pretty soon I'll be a 9 year old playing a Beethoven song! ~ Thank you

Hi, I'm from India with scarce resources for western classical training. Your tutorial gives me inspiration and confidence that one day I shall be able to play this epic. Thanks for sharing.

I know you can do it. There is no quicker way to learn a song than by using the letter notes. Practice it hands separately slowly, then put them together - you'll be playing both sections very soon :)

You need to slow down on the e's I can barely understand

Best way is to go to the website - letter notes are there - click on the link, then when the notes come up - there is a .pdf download link - if you wanna print 'em out & have 'em at the keyboard.

The way he says the students play it however they want, isn't really good teaching. Students should learn to play a piece the "right" way and not however they want, especially since they are learning. Btw who does the first measure with the 2-1 2-1 fingering?

I don't understand why the people are so interested about only the songs what everybody knows....there are a lot of more classic songs, which are worth to listen! Song don't have to be popular to make yourself to listen it...
