Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We want to thank you for watching, commenting and supporting us. It means the world! Thanks for being part of our journey. Wish you the best day with your loved ones 😘
Probably the most significant thing about Polish tourist industry is that they don't pill your skin. Prices for food and drinks are only a bit higher there than in non-tourist areas, so it makes Poland perfect destination for a bugdet trip. If you are bored of famous places like Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, et cetera, you can go to the countryside and find more hidden gems for pennies. Wherever you go you can find decent accomodation, good food, a lot of heritage sites, untouched nature, events. And everything is for reasonable price or (sometimes) completely free.
Toruń is a medieval city. It was the seat of the Teutonic Order, with which Poland had great problems. In 1410, in one of the largest medieval battles near the village of Grunwald, Poles and Lithuanians poured out a beating on the Order, putting a cross on the Teutonic Knights :-)
That's cause they were there on sunday, no organised guided tours. Plus anglo-saxon universities teach about Galileo, and not Copernicus as the one who discovered heliocentric theory. However in a future it would be an idea to do a little research online before sightseeing...
@@bossingtonhillforever4267 Galileo proposed the heliocentric theory, but Copernicus was the first one to prove it. And you're unnecessarily passive aggressive.

I was born and raised very close to Torun. Spent there plenty of time. When visiting Poland we always make sure to go to Torun. Torun, Poznan, Bydgoszcz, Warsaw and Gdansk are cities where I spent the most of my childhood.
You both compliment each other so well you are so beautiful & he’s such a gentleman & Theodore’s laugh & actions makes one so happy & change of mood. Thank you so much & keep traveling 👍🏼👌🏼❤️
You guys are adorable. Cuppa tea on the side of the road. You can take the Brit out of Britain but can't take the Britain out of the Brit, right? ha! Y'all are making my trip to Poland more and more difficult. You keep showing me things I want to see. This town looks so cool and that gingerbread shop! Wow! How charming was that?

Awesome vid guys! Really enjoyed it but you probably forgot the most important fact about the city - it's the birth place of Copernicus ;P - Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip! Stay safe and healthy!
Haha! You guys are so correct - the Polish ppl looks so grumpy! :D BUT..! When you look closer, when you get to know them closer, they turns out mega friendly and extremely helpful and hospitable! Have fun folks! :)
Haha true, we have seen both sides but always one or the other like extremely nice people or really grumpy lol 😂 majority of people have been lovely in pOLAND though
The older generation is quite blunt and does not smile at strangers in the street, the younger ones are more open. On the other hand, offices in Poland are terrible, famous for their rudeness towards clients!
I have to write two words about "zapiekanka " (casserole). It was the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. It was the time of crisis in Poland. The communist regime could not cope with the economy. There was only a service in the shops and no goods. All goods were rationed. The small gastronomy that was in private hands collapsed. Someone bought old baguettes, some champignons, cheese and ketchap, and mayonnaise. He baked it in the oven. This is how the zapiekanka was created..To this day, zapiekanki are popular :-)))))
Hello. Have you ever visited Karpacz? A less spectacular place to watch than the top cities in Poland but with the beauty of nature around the trip will be perfect. Karkonoski National Park, "Rock Table", waterfalls. I highly recommend. Best wishes.
Torun (Thorn) is not only Mediaeval city but also one of the Hanseatic League. Thanks to that fact Torun has such a beautiful architecture. The city is surrounded by huge farm lands with access to the Baltic Sea through Vistula river. So all grain and other goods were transported from here across Europe by Hanseatic League trade paths. There is very interesting story about competition between Dutch and Hansa. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanseatic_League
It is also not true. If we talk about CITY, with established city rights, Kalisz got them in or before 1268, Raciborz and Opole had them in or before 1217.
I was born in Toruń, so welcome! I don't know if anyone pointed this out already, but Toruń is NOT the oldest town in Poland. Toruń was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1234 as part of their German settlement of the area. Polish ruler Konrad of Masovia had originally invited this religious order to fight pagan Prussian tribes that were bothering him. And the German Teutonic order has lost in Jerusalem and did not have anything better to do at the time, so they thought why not. But, having successfully fought the Prussian tribes, Teutons settled in the area creating their own state. This state would become a new headache for Polish rulers. Fast forward a few centuries, the introduced German settlement would make this a mixed area and constant friction between Poland and Germany, and then an excuse for Hitler to start WW2. Anyway, the point was that there were MANY cities in Poland by 1234.
