I absolutely adore my cartier LOVE bracelet. I just pulled the trigger while I was in Prague (hooray for tax-free shopping!) and I don't regret it for a second. I think you hit the nail on the head when you say to never go into debt when purchasing luxury items. I have been there and it feels awful to buy something you've always wanted and then instead of enjoying it, you just feel sick to your stomach and stressed that you have to make payments for months and months. Definitely save up first!
Also, for folks who are afraid of scratching it: I have two small kids and run marathons, so when I'm super busy with them, or traveling, etc., I put on one of those terry cloth sweat-bands that athletes wear on their wrists. It gives your bracelet a little extra protection when life gets a little hectic :)
First Lou, congratulations on your bracelet and its sentimental meaning for you! ❤ Now on to what I'm sure is going to be an unpopular opinion. I am older and have been around since before TH-cam and Instagram and before Love bracelets became popular with influencers. This bracelet - when it was introduced - was designed as a symbol of love between partners. One would purchase the bracelet for their lover and they would be the one to screw the bracelet on their love's wrist and then keep the screwdriver. It was a symbol to say "you are mine" (not so much a sexist or weird way, just a deep love symbol - like a love "handcuff".) Kylie Jenner either didn't know this or didn't care, but when she appeared with a stack of Love bracelets it just seemed weird to me knowing the history of the bracelet. And now all of the influencers that wear stacks of these just changes the meaning behind the design. Without the meaning behind it, I don't even think it's a particularly pretty bracelet. I couldn't imagine wanting a stack of them because it makes no sense (it would be like wearing five wedding rings at the same time - why? It dilutes the "specialness" and significance.) I'm truly happy that you have attached a symbolic meaning to yours to at least keep somewhat with the tradition of this iconic piece! ❤😘
Oh I definitely get what you mean. I always said this was a piece I wanted gifted to me, but after some things that went down in my life I decided that I need to love myself more, and that I don’t need anyone else to feel loved. My boyfriend always tells me he is going to get me one when we marry, so I’ll have one I have to myslef and one from him 🤎

They ARE a significant piece, and when they are worn as simply an accessory in multiples, it kind of dilutes the significance (in my view.) Also, I meant to congratulate you & Polo on the sailing channel! When I received notifications of new videos at the same time on both channels, as much as I love luxury, I clicked on the sailing first! Can't wait to see more of your adventures there! 😘❤

I went to Cartier to buy a watch and was open to a bracelet leaning towards the small JUC. I walked out with a Tank Must and original LOVE bracelet. Could not believe I went with the LOVE. I picked it based on an emotional connection (inheritance money) and the fact the serial number has my late father's birthday. It was destiny.
In my opinion, 18k is always worth it! It will keep its value for years to come. Enjoy it! 😍

I got scratches on my Love ring on Day One. But it still shines like crazy and I love it.
It's gold, so it will scratch, and it is impossible for any metal not to scratch, so if someone isn't used to owning jewelry, they will freak out, but it's normal wear. *It can be polished* But i also don't recommend wearing a bracelet every single day, especially not in the "shower", or bath. That can cause grime and gunk to build up , and it can make the jewelry look dingy and dull.
Scratches in gold pieces show it has been used! you cannot help it, gold will always scratch :) good think is I think you can take it to Cartier every few years to be cleaned
I would absolutely have to be able to take the bracelet off easily lol but totally understand why one wouldn't want to. I personally chose a piece from Bulgari and another from Tiffany. Maybe I'll venture to Cartier next though :) Thanks for sharing!

Do t forget you can take it to a jeweler to have the scratches buffed out! :)
Cartier will also do that for free, but they do not recommend it because every time you buff it you actually lessen some of the gold weight. I wanted to send my ring for a deep cleaning at Cartier and the SA really talked me out of it!

I have the same issues wth tanning when I wear my jade bangle, it's so hard to put on and take off so it only happens a couple of times a year! 🤣 It is amazing to have something that never comes off, and ultimately it's what the bangle means to you! 🌟

I know of a friend that hers got stuck on her arm , I have heard that hospitals and airports carry these screwdrivers not sure if this is true. Mine is super scratched up but i do not regret buying mine. I scratched my JUC in my jewelry organizer. Its ok its just like a beauty scar. Used to wearing them now. A bit heavy though

Scratches are normal. I have two on my right hand and it's my dominant hand. I have them on my wrist for more than 7 years now and you better not see how they look like after all of this years 😂. They look so bad but I love them and I can't imagine my hand without them. And also when I travel security never asked me to take them off. They probably know what are they 🤷🏻♂️
Ladies just go to a jeweler and make one with real gold or silver and trust me you will even pay less.. All these designer don't even use real or 100% gold or silver. You only pay for the brand name. That's how people are getting scammed for their money. Well not me. 🤷🏽♀️

Did you know that the bracelet was fashioned and inspired by the chastity belt? A chastity belt was a device, where husbands would have it locked around their wives' waist to ensure their fidelity whilst they were away… these bracelets were initially not meant to be sold to a single person as the gifted would own the screw driver and would be the only one who could put it on for you and the only one to take it off… it’s like a wedding band that cannot be removed 🤣… ya…

Lou, gold and silver don't trigger TCA security scanner.
Just last week something else triggered it and they were asking me to take it off 😂 and I was like sorry I can’t 🙂😬 at the end it was something on my pants that was making it beep so it was all good but I think that may be it, something else triggers it and security goes straight to the bracelet
....they scratch like nothing else ! But....still l❤ve my ring 🤷♀️ & you do get over it lol

The design of this jewellery is brilliant. I remember spotting it on older rich low key people 20 years ago and now it's so trendy.... I absolutely love that great design, minimalist and cute but the price is a very sad part of it. It's just overpriced and not for broke ppl for sure lol

There’s a lot of scratches on the ring or bracelet and unless you buy an all diamond covered bracelet or ring, you will solve all your scratches problems. But I just find the plain ring/bracelet weird looking because of the - pattern.
