  • Luis, Cruz, and I kick off the beginning of summer by meeting up for a beautiful ride down Lake Short Drive on a hot spring day. Luis and I are ripping our new Honda Rebel 500's. Cruz is cruising on his Suzuki Boulevard M50. This vid has chill moments, deep moments, adrenaline moments, funny moments, etc. Grab a coffee, kick back, and relax as we take you on a journey.

Nervous/excited at the same time. Practice is what we have to do so I made a list of the top 10 things I should practice 😊 and do one of them ever time I’m out riding. Hey man im thinking of getting this bike but coming from sport bikes worried it wont really be enough power but what do you think? Also how well does it handle when going through turns quickly?

    • @Ledface117
      @Ledface117  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean I've never ridden a sports bike so I cannot say forsure, but from the numbers this is what I know: It is about the same weight as a normal sport bike ~400 pounds. It has about 45 horsepower, which is about half of a 600cc super-sport. But what I've heard is down low in the rev range, it feels like a liter bike. I hear is MUCH more comfortable than a sport bike. The max speed is like ~105mph which is honestly enough. It has plenty of passing power during normal driving speeds. Its not a massive bike so it can lane split pretty well. Now that I'm comfortable with the power do I wish it had more? Yes I do. But I know that more power would just be unnecessary and just get me in trouble. What I love about the bike is how new and stylish it is. It also had plenty of power for the streets. It is also very comfortable. The tires are also very wide so I am very comfortable to learn the bike over. I even scraped my pegs once. I think it sounds great with the exhaust I have.

    • @Ledface117
      @Ledface117  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Motive X7 I cannot comment on the loss of power because I put the slip on on the bike the first day I got it. But there is plenty of power. And I don’t think it’s bad for the bike. Some people who are super nervous about hurting the bike might claim it is. But I think it’s fine

    • @Ledface117

      Benjamin Coussement I’m not too sure I haven’t taken a trip that long. This ride in this video was the longest I have ever done on this bike (~2 hours) and the only thing that was sore was my lower back and that is just because I was slouched in the seat and had bad posture. I’m sure if I sat up more straight I would be fine. Let me know if you get the bike!!

  • @shaunpeters7103
    @shaunpeters7103 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hey Mathy. How's the steering on the Rebel 500? Do you feel like the handlebars fight you a bit in the tight turns or does it stay planted when leaning in? The handling on the balloon tires worries me a bit as I tested a used Rebel the other day and found slow turning a bit of a pain (as if one needed to keep those handlebars down with extra force because they just weren't keen on stayinh put half-way through a corner.)

    • @Ledface117
      @Ledface117  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Huh that's strange that it felt that way to you. But no it feels super planted to me. The fat front tire really makes the steering feel very responsive. Not to mention it also gives me a lot of confidence to lean it over a lot (i've even scraped pegs once). As for mid corner, i think its planted. I don't recall ever thinking to myself that the steering is fighting me mid corner. It always just feels very light and responsive to me. I love to take it on roundabouts or highway exits and really get it leaned over for extended periods. However, I have never ridden a sport bike. So it might not be razor sharp compared to those bikes. To me though, it feels very sporty and flickable.

    • @shaunpeters7103
      @shaunpeters7103 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very interesting. The guy had crash bars installed but I can't imagine that extra weight being the cause. It kept trying to self-correct really hard, which created this wobble effect. I'm really keen on this bike, but yeah, the steering would need to be fixed somehow.

    • @Ledface117
      @Ledface117  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is very strange. I have never experienced any sort of wobbles or anything you've described, even when flying through traffic and leaning the bike at 100+mph. Maybe it was just a lemon, he crashed it, or messed with the steering somehow?

    • @shaunpeters7103
      @shaunpeters7103 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That could very well be the case. Only way to find out would be to test one at a dealership. Right now it's between this and the z650, but the rebel has such nice character to it.

      I'm a pretty noobie rider, only owned a motorcycle for about six months. I'm really glad I bought my rebel 500, the rebel is super jumpy from gears 1-3 takes off quicker than my buddy's Vulcan 650, but the Vulcan catches up fairly quick and even gaps me afterwards. The Vulcan feels better at highway speeds than the rebel tho, idk I feel like the Vulcan can cruise at 75-100 mph but the rebel kinda strains itself. I highly recommend the rebel 500 anyways, I'm glad it was my first motorcycle purchase

      Your too big. You can ride it but will be cramped over distance. Look at the vulcan 650 with extended reach ergos or a moto guzzi v7 or v9 for first bike.

    1 Jn.2:15-17 and remember 1 Jn.5:19 and 2 Cor.6:14-18 and regard not the word of mankind; for the wisdom of man is mere foolishness to our God, Ro.1:17-32~!~ I bet after riding with those shadows, you want to drop a tooth in the front and rear sprocket now don't you? The only thing missing is helmet communications and a bigger bike to stay up with the big ones on top end and then you would have something then.

    I’m from the area. Up for some rebeling. I got an old 450cc. Anyone that wants to ride I’m down for it. Gotta be from Illinois tho. All types of bikes welcome. Maybe all rebel’s??
