@@TheLisaGate I watched the opening ceremony, but Anton didn’t. Then he used something that happened during the ceremony as a reason not to watch the Olympic Games. Then add that he complained about a boxing match that happened later in the Olympic’s as another reason. I just don’t believe his reasoning behind skipping the Olympic Games. If he would have just said he didn’t want to watch it I would have never questioned it, but he made it political CLEARLY in hindsight.

I'm not a christian, but I found the opening ceremonies to be blatantly disrespectful and just terrible production. Other reasons to not watch the Olympics? Let's see: doping scandals, judging scandals, boring sports that I never watch, let alone the way the IOC completely abuses the host nations. They take massive bribes, use migrant slave labor, build facilities that will either rarely or never get used again, treat the athletes like garbage with marginal food and terrible facilities to sleep in, and even still taking in all that money payout zero dollars to the winners. Quite the scam if you can operate it successfully. The Olympics died many years ago...
They also make billions and don't pay the athletes

Anton perfectly defended his position with real facts. Political policy and legislation works in a "trickle down effect." We have to know the history of every administration and how the checks and balances of each branch of government works.
Every elected official haa an agenda and policies they want to push. Certain cabinet members have influence over different government parties. Thus, deals are made between each cabinet. What one congressman supports will effect policy for years to come. Newer officials will run on former ticket legislations to push a similar idea based on empirical data/statistics on which policy will effect change in the current state of of the union. This is why we have "state of the union addresses."
A decision made in the past will affect the future. Trump saw the problem and implemented specific tariffs to avoid specific economic crises in today's current times. It made sense what Trump did back then because if he didn't, the government would have a set of new problems. It's about "checks and balances." Politics is a chess game. A long azz political game.
