Superb Desert Support Plant-A Must Have!

I've lost count of how many artichokes and cardoons I have in the landscape. The number continues to grow yearly. I failed to mention they also make excellent companions under fruit trees, by shading the trunk and soil around the tree.

Those are beautiful plants! I was startled when you put your hand next to the leaf, at how immense that things was! Here, we use other perennials with a long taproot like comfrey as a companion plant or chop-and-drop. I am excited to see the flowers!

Comfrey is another fantastic green manure I have here, but it does struggle just a bit in the heat, so it's reserved to shade or under a fruit trees canopy protected from the sun. Thanks for watching Sheri!

How are the rabbits not devouring all of your plants? I’m in QC at the base of the San Tan mountains and the critters get everything not protected!!

I just have so much that there is now way they could be an issue. Not considering my dogs that hunt rabbit and ground squirrel in their spare time. Lol Thanks for watching!
