We assume both times that it's his little crush on Mikasa speaking but both times he was asking to get a better understanding of the situation.

She doesn't believe in Marley, but she does believe in her friends, and unlike Zeke, she's not quick to abandon them. As expected of Pieck, that's exactly right.
Zeke traitorous tendency stemming from his rough childhood for which i doubt pieck gotten any worse, but yeah i really like how they highlight pieck motive in the anime
The point is zeke never considered those people friends zeke always worked towards his objectives faking his loyalty to marley all his life, so technically he's not "quick to abadon them" since from zeke pov they were never his friends to begin with, they were just poor eldians with tragic destiny because they were born in that cruel world.
An interesting detail I think is easy to miss. When Pieck waved to the crowd, it wasn't just a general signal to Galliard. She was showing that she was chained to Gabi, and that she can't transform.
Its so ironic how Gabi fails to see how she is literally just as much of a Devil as any of the Paradisians. In the end, Isayama really told her "you gon' learn today lil brat." 😂
Tbh I think there’s no way they can avoid cgi for the stuff in part 2. There’s gonna be A LOT of titan stuff, probably more than season 1-3 combined. I think that may play a part in why WIT also gave up on animating it

I heard that what happened with this first part of Season 4 was that Wit dropped Aot, and it was set to start airing and finish at the same time as the manga ending (the manga's final chapter comes out like next week) and eventually Mappa took it whereas a lot of other studios refused, due to the deadline.
Or even what I'm thinking that he cried because he knows Eren would never agree to that idea. The scene before with Jean explaining why he believes Eren is acting for a certain goal that they don't know. So he's happy Eren never agreed with Zeke

I respect your opinion but I feel it's a bit harsh to call some parts of this season "shit-tier". There's no denying that this season isn't quite up to the quality of past seasons or MAPPA's other works, but even at its worst (CGI in Episode 6, some off model characters) it looks just mediocre, a far cry from the likes of Ex-Arm or Berserk 2016 which are truly bottom of the barrel. And outside of these few issues, it otherwise looked really solid since the direction and art were as good as ever. This, along with the great material they were adapting, made it as enthralling and exciting as past seasons despite the downgraded animation IMO.
It's the other way around and Eren is way better actor because he tricked everyone 😂😂 even the viewers but Armin was genuinely crying because of some other reason
Spoiler: 21:58 Just thinking that this might be Eren and his child in a world free of curses makes me excited. Last chapter let's go, I swear if Isayama recontextualizes the whole story starting from Marley arc with the knowledge that Eren is a father I will literally bow down to the GOAT of storytelling.
Eren's development was bound to happen and i'm not even feeling any kind of pity for him, i mean marleyans are just reaping what they sowed in the first place. I don't know how this ends bt i won't feel anything for marleyans no matter how much of humans they are....
