Looking at the comments it's disappointing how negative people are. The bottom line is a person acquired a pair of Role Club engineer boots (maybe he bought them second-hand?) and needed them re-lasted and re-soled to fit perfectly and this master cobbler executed a complex process flawlessly. This is what cobblers are for! What should he have done? Thrown the boots in the trash? Spend another $2,600 and wait 2-3 years for another pair of RCs? Try to sell them (which could take months)? Or he could have them re-lasted and re-soled and get the fit he needed. Many cobblers would either be too scared or unskilled to execute a job like this or would try to take advantage of someone and charge an exorbitant amount of money for a re-last and re-sole. This video is a gem and a prime example of a master cobbler at work.
I mean, the guy's foot could have grown or changed in the time it took to get the boots made in the first place. Or he just got it wrong as I've read is happening lately.
Dang that's quite the project. It looked challenging to hit the old stitch holes on the upper with all those rows of stitching. I'm curious why the customer opted for a relast...to get a better fit?
I really wonder if Brian got the sizing wrong or if the buyer didn't know how to properly size and submitted the wrong size. Better yet, I bet someone got a deal on them and bought them from someone and had them resized.
Yeah I'm not understanding why they just didn't sell them and start over, the boot basically isn't even Role Club any longer. They look unworn too. Could've sold these for 100 bucks cheaper (prob would've sold quickly given wait times unless they're an odd size) instead of what I assume paying an extra 500+ dollars for this job. Look nice and all but I imagine just commissioning Unsung to make the whole boot would be cheaper than all this, but money doesn't seem like an object here. To each their own I guess.
Wow! They Turned Out Beautiful.

Broke my heart to see you taking them apart .
At this point you could have made him a brand new boot, seems like less work to me 😂 btw, in the woodsman heel game, you guys are the best!
Smh, it must suck to pay Role Club pricing for an engineer pair and RC still got the sizing wrong, let alone the wait time for delivery.

Is that a Weiss watch?
I really like watching the lasting process
Great job 👍

Yes, when we relast something we are taking a new last and building it up with leather to the customers measurements for a better fit.
that crease down the middle of the vamp would drive me crazy, or does it smooth out over time with wear ?

How much does a job like this cost? I am in dire need of a relasting af my stow Trickers boot.
Typically for a Relast we do $450 plus the cost of the Resole, but if you want to talk through details you can email us at shoes@unsung.house
Very skillful.
👍👍👍👍☝
Я бы с такими сапогами спал бы не только носил,браво МАСТЕР браво СУПЕР обувь
That hurt to see a boot made by Brian the bootmaker get changed like that
They were brand new
Wow, a serious chunk of change was dropped on those boots.
They are beautiful, though.

I love the nuances of cobbler repairs. Not music and cobbler repair. Hopefully some of your videos are music free?
nice job so i guess the line down the middle is something new
IYes, because we were replacing the vamps I was able to add a toe track at the customers request
I don’t think I would’ve done this job if it was on a whim. What a waste of materials and craftsmanship.
It was a resizing why not do the job?
What's a waste. Paid that much for the design and craftmanship and now wanted a re-lasted ???
