    It really hits seeing reigens birthday at the end after seeing how depressed he was in season 2 realizing he had Noone on his birthday. Or seeing mob finally able to show his emotions without reaching 100. Every other time he showed any emotion was when he reached 100 he otherwise was completely stone faced.

    • @jacobjorgensen729
      @jacobjorgensen729 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Besides when he cried for Dimple, or expressed worry for his brother. Or the many many times he smiled. Like after he broke mogami’s spell in the 6 month period of being stuck in the purple haired girl.

    • @nickcomfort8982
      @nickcomfort8982 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jacobjorgensen729 each time he cried it was when he reached 100. Like when he reached 100% sadness. Either way the only time he could express his emotions properly were when they exploded out because he bottles then up. He only ever laughed in that final episode and the rejection was a way to show he can easily cry now. Don't gotta be a cherry picking dick when what im talking about is the entire purpose of the show. Dick

    Tsubomi's actually such a bro. She never considered Mob in a romantic sense, but she heard his voice was shaky on the phone and stuck around in the path of a tornado to talk to him and find out why. Even if she never dates Mob, I can see her being a helluva wingman down the line

    • @yiledute

      and it's more realistic, she is not forced to like him, she is not impressed by looks, powers or any other of that stuff. I might even interpret it as she truly feeling comfortable with Mob because he is the only one that treats her like a person (and viceversa), but she is honest, she said that it hadn't occurred to her to see him as a romantic partner, and decided to keep talking to him, building a proper relationship and who knows maybe end up together or becoming real friends.

    Dimple coming back was not a plot hole. It was explained in season 2 that spirits come to existence and gain strength based on people's belief in them. Mob's belief in dimple and him not wanting dimple to be gone is what kept him alive. The rules were set a long time ago and ONE kept his writing consistent based on those rules. I think the explanation for him coming back makes complete sense and it was handled very well.

    Tsubomi is a real one. I mean this unironically, she respects the gravity of what a rejection can mean for someone. She recognizes how hard it is for someone to open up and confess their feeling, so she faces those feelings head on and tells them exactly how she feels. Not just with mob, but all the other boys too. It's not an easy thing to do, rejecting someone, especially someone you care about. Just goes to show how strong she is as a person.

  • @roy4705
    @roy4705 ปีที่แล้ว +93

    It does says a lot that Tsubomi stayed. I think she cares for Mob as someone that was once a friend but they hadn't been close since they were little. Maybe they could be a thing in the future but they need to get to actually know each other first.

    I loved this series’s lesson of the beauty to be found in normalcy. For so long I have had the impression that I had to be special otherwise I was worthless garbage, and this pursuit of trying to be someone special has led to me hurting others alongside myself as I forced myself into trying to become something I am not.
    Mob taught me it is ok to be who I am and that the idea of being special or better than others is ridiculous. I am able to be happy as myself and have grown far closer to my family.
    It was also nice to have a show be so realistic in not always getting what we want. So many times are characters entitled to all their desires, this isn’t the case with Mob, he tried so hard to gain Tsubomi’s affection but he didn’t get it, yet he was still able to recover and be happy. We rarely get what we want in life, and that’s ok, there’s still joy to be found.

    The mixing and accepting at the end, when Suraj questioned why mob didn’t use his powers for the cat meant he was no longer scared of his powers and was willing use them, no longer bottling them up with his emotions and desires, but he also accepted the “Mob” aspect of himself where he learned the principles of why bettering other aspects of your life and utilizing those skills are important. In a sense, he corrected the big mistake he made after Tsubomi lost interest, but kept all the character development through the last two seasons. Hope this clears things up :)

    And the whole Dimple return, it made sense to me. He'd always been incredibly resilient and even survived multiple exorcism. And that tornado he created was just sucking in esper energy, so its not implausible that even little fragments of Dimple that are in space were able to get sucked in and reform back to his original self.
    I'm gonna miss this show, but for me, it was FLAWLESS!!! Thank you, Mob!

    The Dimple part makes sense. Take one of the themes we had about beliefs. I think it was brought up in Season 2 with the one demon girl (I think the Dragger?) and again with the Broccoli tree. Strong beliefs can give it form. Basically Mobs strong will prevented Dimple from being fully destroyed when otherwise he would have. The strong "power spiral" bit, at least in Japanese, is saying Dimple was pulled into it and was able to return. Not sure if there's any real meaning there besides he just coincidentally was close enough to be sucked in?
    Maybe since this is Mobs strong Will that's taking over the body, the vortex (which Mob is the center of IIRC) it naturally brings those in his thoughts closer to him? Possibly a reason why Tsubomi her self and her immediate vicinity didn't seem affected (also probably because it was the park they played together in as children) and also why Reigen despite everything was able to get close to Mob, even if Mob was pushing him back. And if this were the case then it would make sense why Dimple was also pulled in.

    • @TomEllisLovesU
      @TomEllisLovesU ปีที่แล้ว +4

      yeah I'm pretty sure that's that. Besides, Dimple has been exorcised by Mob and Teru before and came back just fine

  • @tamidobi856
    @tamidobi856 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    the translation is a bit weird with Dimple's line (crunchyroll slacking it seems), making it confusing as to how he came back so I'm going to try to clear that up. Dimple was able to be revived because Mob never stopped thinking about him. Remember, the existence of spirits can come to be as a result of the collective consciousness of human beings, such as the dragger in season 2. Mob was probably the only person thinking of Dimple as much as he did, but since Mob is so powerful, that was enough to tether Dimple's existence to Mob. When Mob went berserk and unleashed so much power, the spiral of energy was able to restore more of Dimple's existence, allowing him the means to materialize and meet up with Reigen. All of this is to say that the main reason Dimple survived is because Mob loved him so much; that's literally what it comes down to

    My favorite part will always be how though the niche of the series is the supernatural and psychic powers, what it's really about is a boy learning to be a more socially well-adjusted person in spite of all that. It is actually a beautiful coming-of-age story in how it uses a personality quirk that we are supposed to interpret as weird, and coming to accept and normalize that part of ourselves. The way that the powers are basically a heavy handed metaphor, with Mob anyways (And it can barely even be called that when they basically spelled that out bluntly in the first episodes), for a pent up emotional state and how harmful repressing those parts of you can be makes the "psychic" part of the title not really about psychic powers, but our psychological states. And especially for what was coming from what was a gag web comic artist, I find it immensely profound and relatable. And if course, it's just very funny in it's use of parody and humor. I love this series and wish it could have gone on longer, if only for more odd adventures!

    ONE is the goat, an absolute master at his craft. He tackled a subject shonen doesn't go deep into but he also did it better than most slice of life and romance anime.
    Amnd no, Dimple came back because Mob believed in him. He's a spirit and belief makes things real like the grabber who was an urban legend made real by fear or the tree that became sentient from the worship. Mob believed in Dimple so that brought Dimple back. Dimple came out of Mob because he was putting out so much energy

    Every time he was emotional, or showed emotion, he lost control of powers.
    Sadness: jad him destroy a school in teru fight.
    But after mergin with himself, he cried after he got rejected, and didn't lose control of his powers. And later he can laugh again. :)

    All the kindness, empathy, and acceptance Mob had for others, he never extended it to himself. I dunno, that’s just so relatable.

    The complexity of Mob and Reigens relationship is really wholesome but also really sad. We've already seen Reigens perspective and growth in season 2, even tho he was using mob he did love him and he came to terms with not treating Mob like a tool. But Real and fake mobs relationship hits different, because its confirmed that Mob always knew the truth and did silently resent Reigen...but he also choose to follow him because Reigen gave him what he wanted, he controlled Mobs powers and taught him restraint, Which is what Fake/Trauma Mob wanted but Reigen also validated his powers, said they were normal, called them good, accepted them, gave them purpose Which is what ??? Needed and wanted. He was whatever mob needed him to be in the best way and not si good way (except for the greedy Reigen arc). Reigen and Shigeo are so wholesome. #ReigenSupremacy

    I don't care how their forget the most basic plot points but its SUPER annoying when they forget and call it a plothole. Like dude, we spent 3 seasons explain how spirits work and can come back into existence. Even in this season, that was the whole point of tree being powered by belief and spirits coming into existence. SO ANNOYING...

    To get the repressed side of Mob to calm, it took Reigen and Dimple (and everyone else slowing him down before that) to do it. I don't think Dimple could have did it by himself any more than Reigen could (or Ritsu, or Teru).

    I like you guys, but I think you watch way too many shows and have too much on your plate to remember all the little details even from just a few seasons ago. It was established early on that Dimple is pretty resilient, having survived multiple exorcisms. And belief causes spirits and such to materialize. The Dragger was created out of peoples' belief in her urban legend. Peoples' belief in the Divine Tree gave Dimple tremendous power and caused the Tree to gain consciousness. And it was Mob's belief in Dimple that kept him from vanishing completely. So Dimple rematerializing during the ??? event wasn't a plothole at all. A surprise, definitely. But a plothole? No.
