I sang soprano in a performance of the Messiah at the Free Trade Hall Manchester in England in 1962 when I was 19 and unsaved. At 71 I have lived in CHRIST for 26 years and have a worldwide teaching ministry on Facebook for 18 years and onwards. Blessing and honour, glory and power be unto Him that sits upon the throne and unto the Lamb ❤ Amen!
Glory to God! I wonder how many people have sung/played Messiah without knowing what it meant. Probably more than those who did. We can pray that this yearly custom in so much of the world will reach listeners and performers as they consider the message of the text, and that Handel and his librettist's witness to the Gospel will come alive again nearly three hundred years later.
YES AMEN..YOU ARE WORTHY..OF HONOR GLORY POWER RICHES, BLESSING..WORSHIP..HALLELUJAH..FOREVER AND FOREVER..!! YOU ARE UPON THE THRONE..!! HALLELUJAH..!! AMEN..!!
The whole magnificent awe-inspiring oratorio “The Messiah” by G. F. Handel, which ends with “Worthy is the Lamb”, so speaks to our hearts because it is literally taken from the Bible! Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your great love and grace!
@@cosimo7770 Yes, but why was Mr. Handel so inspired? Because of his faith and assurance that the worthiness of the Lamb of God, who bore the sins of the world, was accepted by God on his (Handel's) behalf.
All praise, glory, might, majesty, dominion and power be to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. If you have not yet called on the Name of the Lord Jesus to be saved, now is the time my friend. Time is short, we are near now. Jesus is Lord. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain. Amen. D
So beautifully religious and musically sense of heart intense reality of the Lord choral perfection singing and delivered holyness for all who arrive in sacred reality 5:29 5:30
This is soul inspiring, as the one, that is sung about, is THE ultimate truth, that will prevail in eternity. Jesus, the lamb of God, whose blod was shed for us.
YES, they sing about the "Lamb of God" - Jesus Christ - who has come to die on the cross as God's sacrifice for my and your sins - and to rise from the dead to conquer death and release forgiveness and eternal life to you - if you believe and receive Him with simple but sincere prayer. Invite Jesus / Isa into your heart and experience your glorious salvation - He loves you so much...
Jesus bless you good man. Did you know that the entire Messiah composition was Inspired, Written, and Completed... in 28 Days!!!!!(?) Wow-yes. Blessings of Christ and His Incredible gift to us His Children - be upon You sir.
Christians produce the best music because knowing the truth produces beauty in accordance with the nature of art and music and the reality God created.
Magnificent. A choral trilogy. "Whorty is the Lamb", a majestic prelude, "Blessing and honor", a triumphant fugue and "Amen", a sublime fugue ... the subject is divided, subdivided, inverted, enriched with counter-subjects and subordinated to many ingenious and latent purposes of harmony, melody and imitation.
G.F.Handel only took 3 weeks to write this magnificent work to the Glory of God. When somebody congratulated him , he is supposed to have said, ""I know my Bible ""
I have too, and listening to this it's hard to understand how I managed. It took months of work and of course a strong and talented grpoup of other people to make it possible, as is the case in many walks of life we assume are down to our own talents. As so often in life, great things are achieved only with the support of others, be they a few or in their hundreds. Having done it once (meaning tens of times) and listening to this, I feel I could walk back into a choir tomorrow and do this again in time for Christmas. Nonsense, of course.
Me, too. We were young. High school students from Cobb county in Georgia. I think we rehearsed for 3 months. When we really started to get serious, it was amazing. It was magic. It was God. We were directed by William Knoll, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
How you manage to sing at all, I don't know, because it absolutely chokes me. I weep just listening; it's huge, deep and so powerful. The layering of the voices, the build ... magnificent. Thank you 💖🙏
Wonderful clarity of diction from such an impressively large gathering of talented musicians: these words are vital and must be, and here are, conveyed sure-footedly, in order to release all their healing power upon a blinded, spirit-starved world. Thank you all, Ladies and Gentlemen!
Absolutely beautiful but it is a SACRILEGE to interrupt Worthy is the Lamb for a 5 second ad about nonsense before the Amen chorus. I don’t expect TH-cam to know or understand that but to put it in terms they can understand, would you play heartbreaker without living loving maid? Or we will rock you without we are the champions? Okay then.
They sing this every Christmas in Tokyo, students from Ueno's Music University. It is so moving to hear the perfection of their performance - not to say that this performance by adults is not amazing. But a real honouring of Yahweh even in a country where there are few Christian churches is very moving.
Revelation 5 12. Well done! That said, it looks like most have their eyes on the score rather than on the conductor. Heads up and eyes up front would make it that much better.
It’s an extremely difficult piece to sing without a score in front of you. You need the score to get the timings when each section of the choir has to join in otherwise it would be a total shambles! Handel sounds magnificent but you need mi d bending drugs to sing some of his works!
Much better than the budget performance we've just experienced at the Laurentskerk in Rotterdam, where the brave efforts of the few performers involved were dissipated into the cavernous recesses of the church (15-12-23). The guy on the period trumpet and the twerking conductor made up for things somewhat, however.
I'd prefer Amen than Hallelujah, for the paragraph written by Zweig, in his book, "Sternstunden der Menschheit". It's so beautiful, Amen is like to witness the building of a grand cathedral from top to toe.

I sang Handel's Messiah with a choral society many years ago for several years. I am so very thankful to have had such a privilege.

The last minute and closing always brings me to tears. Awesome is our Savior and worthy is the Lamb!

One of the great masterpieces of music in history. It took Handel only two weeks to write it, and for good reason.......he needed the money.

I can't believe he needed the money. No, it was divine inspiration.😂😂😂
