well if you don't care about her, refuse to use shotgun to keep her away from enemies & let her constantly get grab by the enemy then yeah the games becomes a lot harder
I honestly never had problems managing ashley in the original, in fact the only time that i got a game over involving ashley was when i accidentally shot an explosive arrow at an armored ganados and it sprint at me XD
It also helps that instead of an actual life bar she gets incapacitated, I've lost count of how many times she died in the original because of some stupid mistake of mine or yhat part with the cranks where I accidentally shot her with the rifle while a ganado was carrying her...
More so once you unlocked the noisy Armor. In PC, there is a mod which you can install to get rid of the armor noise and also change the model to be whichever Ashley type you want or a model of your choosing.

I played the OG RE4 in 2022, and i have to say, i never understood the hate towards Ashley. Yeah, her screams can be annoying (i never felt they were btw) but she's a very straightforward NPC, you can command her to stay in place, she's always behind you in every situation (unless it's a set piece). Never had problems with her.
I wish people realized you could parry explosives. You cut the lit fuse and it’s dope. But that means trying things out instead of having chat play through you
She find remake stressful. Now I wonder how she will feel about the original which I find harder than remake coz you can't move while shooting and reloading and you also can't parry attacks

She was written like an idiot in the original, gets all angry when Leon shows concern for her because she starts coughing up blood and it results in her running towards a painfully obvious looking trap in the castle and the second time she gets kidnapped in the castle section it makes both her and Leon look stupid due to them wondering into an obvious looking nest area that just might have enemies with wings.

A few years ago, hundreds of hololive streams got wiped and some members nearly had their channels deleted due to copyright strikes since they didn’t specifically request perms from the game publishers. Some of those streams are still gone to this day. There is nothing to “fix”. This is just Hololive ensuring they don’t get into that trouble again.
