This stressed me out as a kid. I was scared of being alone in a city with tanks roaming around
Being 200% immersed into this game as a child back in the days. An unforgettable experience.
The only other game that immersed me this much was Witcher 3 back in 2015.

Or with more luck it just needs to damage that T80 enough so the crew will leave the tank.

OFP had the best feel over all the ArmA games that came after it. Better voice lines, radio chatter, better location, gunplay, the game just felt better overall. Its crazy for a 2001 game. And the time period which is the mid 80s is really cool!
They tried to release OFP on Playstation but I don't think it will ever be the same as the original !
So many memories
Nothing will ever replace the feel Flashpoint gave off. As much as I like Arma 3 and all the other awesome games, this just hits different. The intensity and yet knowing how fragile everything is was just conveyed perfectly in this game. As cardboard as everything looks nowadays this was just such a unique experience topped off with a perfect soundtrack. The chills I felt hiding in a bush while you hear that squeeking noise given off by tank tracks knowing you are utterly screwed is unmatched even today. It's just impossible to replicate in the way it was. Kinda odd, given how spoiled we are these days with GFX and high tech stuff. I'd count this as a timeless classic.
@@fencer9469 Agreed. OFP felt like real life - fragile, overwhelming and, at the same time, very satisfying when you endure the struggle and achieve victory.

I didn't even speak English when I played this game as a child, always followed NPCs until I spotted enemies then turned on Rambo mode 😂. Except for the night maps I remember using stealth in those like it was a hide and seek game. Ah good times during summer and Ramadan 😋
The same thing, my brother, I am from Morocco. This is a very wonderful game. Unfortunately, it is not popular in my country and in many countries. I think it opens the mind in a very terrible way. Thank you to the company that produces the game.... Ramadan, and this is a game that has many memories in my heart. Frankly

what was the weird bug that all textures turned white when you were left alone and radio called you to come to the meeting point cos US army was leaving the island
what do you mean? White texture? All i can think if is the custom face model which was white. Or a lighter texture on the ground when there was a flare in the sky.

Opertion Flashpoint was created by bohemia interactive to
operation flashpoint: cold war crisis was renamed to arma: cold war assault do to the developers loosing the rights to the name "operation flashpoint", since then the original developers have continued the series by releasing arma 2, arma 3, arma gold edition, and arma: reforger. but the publishers (the ones that now legally owned the name "operation flashpoint") made another game, also called operation flashpoint, and a dlc but neither are connected to the original developers story. If you want to play through the official story then play the arma series.
