You guys at the Scratch Academy got your information wrong. I CREATED THE BOOMERANG SCRATCH. I named it I showed it to Qbert and gave him tips on how to do it. This was way back in the nineties back when Qbert lived in D.C.Daly City" I REMEMBER THIS LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY". Please fix this mistake you've made. You know I Invent cuts but expect to get the credit for them to. Yall can do my cuts all day just as long as credit is given where credit is due. I'm renaming it the "FLARE BOOMERANG". So there will no mistake to where that cut and all my past present and future cuts I make come from. Thankyou Scratch Academy and please help in alleviating this situation. Peace Dj Flare
@djnothin I'm a bitter old schooler. I had the flare down pat in 89' That was before they had the new faders with the quick curves. I really didn't think anything of it. I was tearing it up. Q came along with the crab and much more. He would rock his up and downs all the way up so the crossfader would cut in quicker. So he was the first cat I saw doing this before the new faders. When Dj Flare coined it I was like WTF I had something. oh well. '
start with the fader on, as opposed to off as DD is doing here, its just a fast 2 click on the fader with 3 moves on the record, or 4 clicks/6 moves. good luck, if you haven't already mastered it.
@Gocha18 try concentrating on doing 2 clickers (open-close-open-close-open), just like a 2 click flare, but instead of doing one forward movement on the vinyl as per a 2 click flare, you move the record 3 times. its a smooth flow, dont concentrate on the closed sections of the fader movement, this inhibits the ability to get the fast speed. dont do 3 sounds, then pause, then another 3 sounds, its gotta just be a continuous fwds-bkwds record movement, no pauses. look at reverseheavens Q video.
@DjMikeTofCMW I agree as far as the crazy names of scratches. Back in the day we were doin a lot of these and didn't put titles on them lol but you cant hate on the next man for at least getting into it and trying to learn techniques. It still comes down to, you have it or you don't. I always say, DJ'in chose me, I didn't choose it. I've seen alot of kats learn all these scratches but still suck cuz they don't have timing, rhythm, and just an understanding for music.
@Gocha18 dude speed will come naturally trust me don't worry about it for now, there are Dj's out there who have been cutting for over 20 yrs you can't expect to be as good as them
@Gocha18 cool stuff, hope my comment helps other people too, its a good feeling when you crack the secret and do warflex speed boomerangs. check my alternate video too, need to get that speeded up.
I am practicing for hour and a half at least every day and hole last week i tried to master this Boomerang i got the consept of technic but cant get enough speed, how soon should i be able to scratch in double time over 95 bpm beat?
@djnothin WELL IM GLAD DJAYING CHOOSE YOU.. DO YA THANG... I AINT HATING THOE I WAS JUST SAYING.... DO YOU A FREESTYLE VIDEO AND SHOW EM WHATS UP ON THE DJ NOTHIN NAMELESS SKRATCHES.. HAHAHA!!! I MIGHT HAVE TO MYSELF.....
@JBLAZE999 Almost 2 month passed since i wrote this coment here :) i already got this technique doing it on double time quiet smooth, but anyway thx for support man :) now i am stuck on autobahn scratch :)))

DJ Flare! I was born too late and in the wrong place man. I wish I was doing this shit in the 90's
If you're who you say you are then you should be uploading vids, tutorials and history lessons, not making remarks in the comment sections.
Nah bro, I invented the boomerang back in the 80's and kept it a secret until I met Q early 90s. Put some respekt on my name.
All respect belongs to Sean Moran (DJ Flare) ... I also wouldn't be telling anyone to upload vids or tutorials!
All you need to do is this: Do. Not. Stop. Practicing. You. Will. Get. It.
Flair invented that.
Dude, wash your vinyl. Damn
Andreas Bohinen his name is Dirty Digits. That's why he's using a dirty vinyl
Get yah history right teacher, dj flare invented that skratch.
I fucking love this scratch. It allowed my style to escape the binary prison. Took me three months, and I'm still improving. Quantum style
Flare did it!! "South park joke" ...
Actually the scratch was invented by Dj Flare!! Get your facts straight!!!
Give it up to Flare
thanx digitz. ill ante up for the autobahn now!

haha no idea it was Nick's scratch. remember them being called delayed two clicks though, back in the scratchcon days

djnothin and don’t forget being funky. 99.5% of all these technical scratchers have 0% funk. When you have no funk it all starts to sound like noise.
finally a tutorial that is clear
and that isnt in hamster
How can anyone dislike thus video? I don't see a better way to explain this skratch. You got some straight haters.
@D84D P.S. on that... I was using the line button for my flare.
@biglove599 Guess u are right! thx for inspiration :) dont u know what kind of move he made in this video on 1:58 ?
hahahha you did work with my dude Dillon from Duval Intellekt and Dirty Digits. I got a vinyl of yall work
@MrPistol12 before he passed, Jam Master Jay (Run DMC)..started Scratch DJ Academy at least 10 before QSU, Q Bert will tell you that himself
Same old scratch from 1985. Fab 5 Freddy is mold school.
@Gocha18 dude speed will come naturally trust me don't worry about it for now, there are Dj's out there who have been cutting for over 20 yrs you can't expect to be as good as them

it was flare that came up with this scratch
The open give the wiggly noise
Nice!! 👍🏿
what scratch should i learn after the Boomerang??
NICE!
1:56 look his finger..it looks like it broken..xD
I learned by name for technique, but I agree, you can't really "scratch" until you can speak it, but requires the technique to do it.
Man, I cant get it double timed... I can just do it regular.. I want that "wap" sound thats in the middle, if that makes any sense.
So what is the real difference between this and the swing flare? They seem similar to me. thx
Swings have three clicks. 4 notes per direction with 8 notes total
Cool.....
nicetutorial i sub
