  • Hoyt Axius review. In this video, I review the Hoyt Axius. The Hoyt Axius is one of the flagship bows from Hoyt for 2020. Hoyt has been improving their bows in recent years and the Axius ranks as one of the better Hoyts I have ever shot.

    Another great bow that without your bringing to my attention, I wouldn’t have considered. Seems a bit louder than those tested prior, but impressive speed even given poor tuning. Anyhow, many thanks again for keeping us up to date on the ever and rapidly evolving bow game!! Have a great day Sean, Gob Bless!!

    I was wondering if you could help me out? I've been watching WAY too many of your videos during this stupid quarantine, and you clearly know your stuff about compound bows. Far more than anyone else I've found on TH-cam. I would like to know which compound bow you would recommend for me? I'm 35 years old, I've spent my whole life shooting recurve bows, I current shoot a 60lbs RecurveI, I have a 27 inch draw length, live in Upstate NY, and will be shooting during all four seasons. I haven't been hunting in nearly 20 years, but I'm looking to take it back up because the deer population on my families 300 acres of land is getting out of hand. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but would still like to get something of decent quality. What would you suggest, and what brands (if there are any) would you recommend staying away from?

      If I were you, of get either the diamond edge 320 or the elite ember. The elite is a nicer bow, but it has a Max weight of 60 lbs. If you are shooting a 60lb recurve you will be able to pull more on a compound once you get used to the difference in feel. The edge 320 goes up to 70 lbs. Either bow will work well for what you want to do. God bless you and thanks for watching.

    Hey man, I currently shoot a Hoyt Powermax. I really want to upgrade to either the RX-4 ultra or alpha, or the Evo NTN, but I have a 27 inch draw and my arrow weight is gonna be right at 500 grains, I really want my arrow speed to be at least 255-260 at 70 lb draw; do you honestly think I can get to that speed given the 27 inch draw is 1 inch short of the lowest DL setting on the PSE NTN? Basically I am torn because the PSE seems the most forgiving but at my draw based on the math it would definitely be the slowest

      Speed isn't the most important thing. Shooting a bow well is what you want. Knowing you can deliver your arrow where you are aiming. Even still is speed is what you want, start with bows definitely in your draw length. Most bows out there are good so I think you'll be in good shape, but there are too many variables to be able to guess or estimate what speed you'll actually get at that length and arrow weight.

    The Axius specs look like they were clickable on the grey button right next to the RX4 black button.

      @@northwestarrowz3984 I is pretty good. The draw curve of the turbo series is a little more aggressive than the other Hoyts, but if you are willing to put up with that you may like it for the added speed it brings over the other Hoyt models.

    Obviously you’re not very familiar with Hoyt bows if you weren’t aware of the 3 models. No differentiation among the 3 models in this video. You’re reading us the specs of the rx-4 without realizing you can click on the grey button that says “axius alpha” just above the specs, which would reveal the .5lb weight difference and the $700 price difference. So many shortcomings in this review. Not to mention if I want to participate in the giveaway I have to subscribe to your religion? There was a massive lack of preparation and attention to detail in this video. Very misleading

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, I didn't realize they had the three models before looking into it. Hoyt has been on the bottom of my list for years with the products they have been putting out which is why I don't follow them closely. This bow is the best bow they've made in a long time, so I was very happy for them for finally getting back into the game a little. In my reviews, I'm more focused on real world data, which I get on site by testing the bow and shooting it through the chronograph etc. Thanks for blessing me with your comment. God bless you.
