Even with the shelves hiding the residue on the walls, that would still drive me crazy over time knowing it’s back there and that I’d have to eventually deal with it later lol
This guy calls messaging someone on a marketplace for 20 minutes "a lot of work", do you really think he's ever gonna clean anything?
Use a heat gun to warm up the adhesive and it will help it come off easier.
Use nails instead of even removing the tape to avoid any residue at all. Just paint over the wall and the nail holes will vanish when removing them again.

@@onewiththestud Unless you use medieval half inch thick nails, the thick paint will cover the tiny punctures of a nail. You can even buy thin crafts nails that are basically just a slightly thicker needle.

i glued the foam to foam core panels and tack nailed them to my walls for easy removal later
Command strips work really well for wall hung sound treatment.

pro tip for getting rid of smells with things you don't want to get wet(because lego pieces especially printed ones hate water):
Freshly ground coffee beans will destroy that scent and after a while the item will also no longer smell of coffee.

I don't know if you need more acoustic wall stuff for your gaming setup that isn't that ugly foam stuff, but I was watching a YT channel called Nate Petroski @Narrowayhomestead and he did a short called "Tearing off cheap acoustic panels" where he showed off some really cool looking wood panel texture acoustic panels that someone had sent him. Not sure if it's your style but it looks much better than the foam triangles and won't leave that residue on your wall.
oh? i used double sided tape or stuff like that for my foam on the wall (nvm just saw the type of pads you use)
