Arne Slot has coached him well and it's showing that he could become one of the best DM's in the sport. I look forward to seeing what he can do for us.
Ryan definitely has the size and football intelligence to play everywhere in midfield. He has a pogba vibe to him minus all the flash and shooting ability. If he can bulk up a little bit he could better protect himself from unnecessary injuries and become a top DM.
Klopp discovered Gravenberch last season but his talent with the injury on Gravenberch was a headache, but that made Klopp's smart backup ENDO a utility. Now Gravenberch is stable and Slot can make the best of him, but if injury sips in again, I appreciate we have ENDO.
The transfer committee at the club bought Grav. Klopp certainly never found him, the Ajax academy did. Klopp preferred workmanlike midfielders and would never have given Gravenberch his fair shot. He preferred the likes of Hendo, Milner, Gini etc.. runners, workers whose main responsibility is to protect the fullbacks space when they bombed forward. Grav wasn't a Klopp signing and would never have been where he is now had Klopp stayed.
Funny how during pre season, I was arguing with Liverpool fans telling them that we already have who we need at the club, while they were all OBSESSED with transfers. I've argued Gravs case since Bayern actually. Since he left Ajax, he's had coaches who prefer workmanlike midfielders. Gritty, determined, hard tackling midfielders who's main job in their respective teams, was to work hard and protect the defence and cover attacking fullbacks. Neither the bayern manager at the time, or Klopp, have ever used a midfielder like Grav. In a way, he's almost too talented attack wise for them. Klopp preferred Hendo, Milner, Gini, Fabinho etc. He literally tried to turn Szobo into Hendo 2.0. Remember how good Szoboszlai was when he first signed and he had no clue about the system and what Klopp wanted from him? He played naturally and freely, and people were instantly touting him the next Gerrard. Well that didn't last long, did it? He was motm 2 games in a row, and Klopp came out in a post match press conference and said "yeahhh he was really good but he still has to learn our system." Fast forward 3 weeks and Klopp has him suppressed in the Hendo role. He started to play less confidently, more worried about protecting Trent and sticking to the exact positions Klopp had hendo play. It completely took away from Szobo's natural talents. Midfielders must mould to Klopps system, and if they're too ambitious attack wise, they're out the team. Gini is another example. He was an attacking midfielder/winger at times, very talented at arriving in the box and scoring goals. Klopp suppressed that quickly. Gini actually spoke about it a few times, stating that he knows he can score goals but he isn't really allowed to venture forward in his position. So yeah, Gravenberch had no chance unless he could mould into that Gini/Hendo system number 8. He wasn't seen as a 6 obviously, so he had to be Gini and he's simply far too talented to be suppressed there. Don't get me wrong btw.. Klopp was successful with it! I just felt that he wasted the best assets of some player's in order to mould them, rather than tweaking a bit, and playing to some players best strengths. In the space of only a few month's, Slot realised that Szoboszlai is best when he plays with freedom, with the space to run into and get in behind. Free to use his athleticism and act as a 4th attacker sometimes. Same with Grav. He's noticed instantly that this guy can effortlessly progress through a condensed midfield from deep, opening up the whole pitch and beating a good press. Its becoming more and more essential for this generation, where midfielders, especially 6s, really need to have the technical ability to beat a strong press and retain the ball. Slot realised that while Gravenberch was phenomenal at that, he's also top class and progressint when he's beaten that press! There is no midfielder on earth doing it better than him right now, and I'll be honest, it feels good to say I told you so.

His presence, is making their counter-attacks seem lighting fast. In all the years of watching, I have never seen them counter-attack so quickly.
Yeah I myself fear how long Ryan can keep this up, he hasn't played regular football for 2 or 3 yrs now. So we'll have to see how his body can handle the workload that is being asked of him.

He is now in the environment where he can strive even more and already shown that. But Liverpool needs a cover for him, the season is too long with too many matches.
Idk about his games much. How does he fare in Ajax against top clubs? Personally, I want to see him more against top clubs. Ngl, I would like him to be our Vieira 😂

They still press but its a much more solid team. Only allowed two goals while scoring still. Also suits players staying healthy imo, we will have alot less injuries this year than previous

Slot solved some problems Klopp was responsible of. Having Gakpo and Gravenberch play up to what they are capable of by matching them to their most suitable roles on the field.
Don’t count the chickens before they are hatched. You forgot, Liverpool have a certain player named Darwin Nunez. For every positive step forward, Nunez will ensure that the Merseyside club takes three giant steps backwards.
it wasnt about klopp not using him well, it was about the system, klopp didnt really need a 6 that can play with his back turned or a dlp. klopp didnt expect his midfield to create but they must break up play and cover the defence.

Great Video. But I think he should be compared to Viera than Busquets. Busquets never use to make quick run to opposition box. But he was too good in closed spaces.
