Invest in it, all the equipment needed shouldn’t run more then a couple hundred of dollars.
You will break a lot screen while perfecting the skills but it does pay off if you can find the need in local shops

The screen that comes out of the laminator has the glass on upside-down. The flex cables are on the front camera side, instead of the home button side.

ipad mini 4 is the same .. impossible to replace digitizer at home ... basically throw away at that point unless you can find a cheap complete screen.

I bought this same screen separator and it could not hold the ipad lcd and glass down (it moved when wire was pulled), vacuum sucked (or rather didn't suck enough) ruined my lcd after I started using a spluger to separate it, I poked into the lcd (oops). now I have to pay $100 for a screen and LCD together. oh well

May i ask, what's the best solution to remove OCA and LOCA after doing glass only? I've tried ronsonol, alcohol, goof off, and goo gone. Takes too long to remove.
We usually use LCM Glue Cleaner and 8333.

Im not expecting a possible answer to my question, but just out of interest, wont the liquid cleaner at 3:15 soak into the backlight of the LCD and ruin the backlight? At least for iPhone LCDs Cleaner or Glue likes to seep into the backlight which is noticeable later on
So we have to be careful with this step.

Thanks for the comment. This solution is mainly for repair shops and refurbishing factories. For individual users, it would be safer and cost-effective to turn to a local repair shop.

All i found is only glass with screen replacement that cost a fortune. i have the Air 2 with me for a year never used because of the cracked glass screen. I would like to get it fixed and resell it as i already bought 6th gen ipad for much less than replacing air 2 touch screen with glass

Hey great video But have 2 questions for you
1st how come the wire did not damage the polarizer? It was clear that damage seemed to be present when the glue was removed by the shape of the remaining glue.
2nd this ipad contains a backlight if you leave those fully wet cloths on top of the lcd the backlight will surely have marks on the sides from the liquid
Am I missing something here?

David Torres from removing glass myself on iphones, the marks you see from the wire, do dissapear when cleaning the lcd.
as for the wet cloth, I've been wondering the same? slightest bit of moisture ruins the backlight.

Apps from app store don't downloading, i restored ios from itunes, but it didn't help. Flash memory corruption?
Did you log in the apple account after restore? There are many possible reasons. such as internet, the Apple server is under maintenance etc.. If you still can not solve the problem by restore or reset, it would be better to find a local repair shop
REWA Technology I restored my ipad from DFU, then initial setup, log in to my apple id, try to download app, and nothing happens. my wifi is okay, iphone 5s download apps perfectly. maybe it becouse ipad fell on the floor?

If you ever went to China, you'd realize they are far ahead of US, Europe and other countries in technology for the masses.
This a great repair but unfortunately the replacement glass is not Original Apple grade glass , it will break much easier than the original. Corning glass who makes the original gorilla glass with a special coating for apple does not sell it to after market suppliers period" everything out there is a knock off part.
Every original display units on the market are 3rd-party glass laminated with original LCD/digitizer. Apple doesn't sell them.
It’s way cheaper just to buy a new iPad, rather than spending money on al that equipment just to replace the glass.
Does ANYONE know of a US repair agency that offers this kind of cost effective glass repair for Air2 ?, all I can find is close to $300USD LCD replacements and even then I'm sure it's not going to be an original Apple LCD like it WOULD be if someone performed the service as per this video....

why would you want to do this? if you replace the glass alone then you run the risk of getting dusts trapped between the glass and the screen. It also takes a lot of effort, you could just buy the whole assembly and replace it and your done
Don't worry about the dusts, because the whole process was done in a dust-free room. Replacing the whole assembly is more expensive than glass-only repair.
Sometimes a whole assembly makes sense. But if a repair shop invests in the equipment and gets the parts cheaply, it can prove both cost effective (and more money on labour), and enviromently friendly.
Using highend machines isn’t the art!
