Dualit's iconic Classic Toaster has been hand built in the UK since the 1950s. Look at the base of your toaster to find out who made it! Founded by Max Gort-Barten in 1945, his son Leslie and grandson, Alex now lead the business. Watch as they demonstrate how the toaster is made and just what makes it so special. Featuring fully replaceable parts including the unique, patented ProHeat® element, the Classic Toaster is built to last, supporting sustainable living.

My four-slice toaster is over 40 years old and one element just burned out. I bought a whole set just to have them on hand if the others go. I decided to "restore" my toaster, which simply means giving it a good cleaning inside and out and polishing the metal. It looks brand new and works that way as well. Amazing piece of kitchen art.

Dualit Classic is best! 🇬🇧 Made in Britain 🇬🇧 I have one with 2 slots Brass Finish.
The button 0 is not a zero. It's a symbol of bagel = for instance if you want hamburger bread roasted only on one side. Only the middle of the 3 elements are on.
I = 1 bread, only 2 (left) of the 3 elements is on.
II = 2 breads, all 3 elements are on. Perfect invention!! 😃

Dualit would do themselves a favor by manufacturing 100% of their line in the UK. No exceptions and advertise that everywhere. Don't dilute your brand and marketing potential. Go 'all in' for the win.

They need to actually engineer their product better. I love the classic toaster for its heritage but it toasts like shit.. completely uneven. dualits response? Turn the dial for a minute before toasting… madness. Their ejection mechanism is also garbage. It pushes whatever’s in the toaster to the front and if it’s fragile/soft enough it mangles it. The ejection mechanism should be a similar mechanism to a scissor lift, so it pushes the toast out correctly 😂😂 I sound like a mad toaster nerd but it’s crazy they don’t do these things! The crumb tray pulls are also hard to grab on the small 2 toast classic toaster as they are to close to the ejection handle.

This video is the reason why I put my money into buying a Dualit toaster, your passion for design, build quality and getting that perfect slice of toast at the end spike out to me as an engineer.
I found myself crazy for researching toasters but I’m so glad I did, as buying a Dualit toaster was the best choice, my wife thought I was crazy when I said how good the toast tasted, that perfect crunch and soft on the inside, I made her some and the butter was steaming as I bought the toast over to her, her first bite made her eyes open wide and she made a Mmmmmm sound. Now she doesn’t think I’m crazy anymore 😂

Do you know I always thought Dualit was Italian I don’t know why maybe ‘cos I’ve had Delonghi for so long which I’m guessing is Italian sounds like it anyway. Now since I’ve been fed up with the Italian brand quality (although I do love Italy) I’ve been looking at reviews & have been drawn to the Dualit brand looking at reviews, design, functionality & then low & behold it’s a British brand & manufacturing with German DNA for some good engineering. I like innovation & striving for perfection trying different things & above all else it’s a family brand owned by the same family. I’m sold & I will be buying a new kettle & toaster very soon & it WILL be Dualit. Just one criticism come on Dualit shout about your British heritage & brand more 🇬🇧

Got a US version 2-slice 8 years ago. It's built like a tank and has been a real workhorse. The only problem is US bread manufacturers keep making wider and wider slices that don't quite fit. Unfortunately there is no sticker on mine saying who built it. Highly recommended to anyone tired of Chinesium toasters that break within a year.
