Goodbye Snow: Whistler Blackcomb is Closing Down

- Whistler Blackcomb is finally closed for the 2023 ski season. What a ride it’s been! My final day on the hill was an absolute hoot. The heat was unprecedented for late May topping out at 36 degrees celsius in the village. We did it right with a few beverages, lots of floral and a sprinkle of denim. It's too bad they don't keep the Blackcomb glacier open for summer skiing anymore. Either way, this was the exact ski resort sendoff I needed. Let the countdown until opening day 2023/2024 begin.

I appreciate all the support Chris. It might take another few years but I'm going to find a way to make a living playing in the mountains and making people laugh. Hopefully we run into each other on the hill next season!!

I went on one if not the last weekend they were open this year. Wasn't expecting much
It was 20C out and sunny.
Put on lots of sun screen. Road bike sunglasses.
Track pants and a very light Arcteryx shell coat.
No gloves.
We ski'd in the Couloir and the snow was still decent.
Hands weren't cold at all. Didn't need the coat. But I wasn't burning up either.
Had lots of fun.
Oh and the rocks sticking out made it more fun.
Unreal! I love how the additional obstacles in springtime really change the terrain up and make everything a little more exciting!
Amazingly sick up to the end. Keep it up for the summer.......

You should come down to the land down under Australia and ski there for a week in perisher or Thredbo pritty bad but still alright

Love your videos! Watched them before and after trips. In your edits could you please add a subtitle for every lift you take? It would help us WB tourists who kinda know where you are but have only been a few times and need a bit of help to follow your trails better!

I love skiing late season, the lack of snow can often provide fresh challenges, while the warmer weather allows me to ditch my heavy ski jacket
Me too! The terrain changes and it's weirdly fun to dodge rocks, grass and whatever else. Keeps you on your toes!

But my favorite day this year was March 14th. It had snowed lots over the days before. Snowed moderately that morning and it was cold enough to have very good quality to the snow. My whole family of four did spanky's ladder and outer limits.
In the afternoon we did Saudan Couloir. Too much fun . Two days later we did it again but on Whistler.

Haven’t skiied Whistler, but Lake Louise is my favourite hill in Canada! (Lots of Louise Videos on my channel)
In my opinion, Lake Louise is like the Whistler of Alberta, but lacks the snow and terrain to compare with Whistler Blackcomb
Hey Jeremy, I've never skied Louise. On my hit list for next season. My parents absolutely love it though. Never heard a bad thing, except for the frigid temps
@@theroadnottakentravel Alrighty ya ive heard the snow at lake louse isnt great at times but ive heard MANY good things about that hill. Ive always wanted to ski whistler but its just such a long drive from where i live. thanks for the feedback boys
@@riseandalpine It just so happened that the two days I skiied Louise in Feb were the two coldest they had all season (-40!)😂. It was still a blast, and the snow was amazing! Easily the best of the 3 ski hills in Banff

Thanks Neil. Glad you're feeling like my videos have been improving over the course of the season. I don't think I hit 100 days... maybe 60 or so. Pretty stoked about it considering I work a full time job.

I ride the 191 on the 104 and 115 free's. I'm about 6'2
