You will have to sacrifice qualifying though, becouse you will be slow with maximum fuel. And better put the hard tyres on in order to minimise wear.

This game can get very awkward some times. I remember a GP where my Race Pace was faster than the pole sitter's lap. Anyway, nice to see you back. I'd suggest participating at the Free Practice to set up your car. It's also a nice way to train before the race.
You're pitting with a lap of fuel still in the tank, even though the strategy is to stop you should go one lap longer as it's quicker, remember to confirm you are pitting though
Is it me or this win was one of the most enjoyable that you had in quite some time in your F1 Career mode videos? Yes this game is brutal, this one is exactly like F1 2006 on the PS2 (wich is based on) and you need to be extra careful on some kerbs. Keep the series going mate. Cheers from Portugal.
Two effective strategy tips: Have 1 lap extra fuel than recommended - you'll leave the pits with the same amount of fuel as the test of the field, but you'll be on one lap fresher tires and before you pit, you'll be running quicker and extending the gap to the cars that pit. Lastly, if you want, don't pit the lap you're told to come in, but instead run one final lap to get the quickest lap with the least amount of fuel and then pit (make sure to hit the request pit button). But Don't use that last tip if it is raining.
The later you can pit in the race the better, Ben. A lot of fuel in the car at the start of the race means you won't get stuck in traffic after you make your stop, and get you more time in clear air on low fuel when the AI pit.
Are u comparing the 2007 game to 2017 ? :D Realistic I mean in real world of Formula 1. In Codies game you cannot be a test driver, and all this stuff. If yours scores through season are really bad you can be demoted to Test driver or fired. In Codies you are just fired and if you have lucky u can join to Sauber or end carrer so its sucks. Just buy PS2 or PS3 and play this game I guarantee you will be positive shocked :)
They werent just burning fuel to lighten the car. In order to get more cars on track in Q3 they changed the regs so you got 'fuel credits' for how much you use in the session. Hope ur all good.
I remember having the craziest setup where I started 18th and got to 1st by turn 2 because of the acceleration and because of that I won by over 40 seconds
I was playing this earlier with a Ferrari in career mode - was 4 laps from winning with a 1 minute gap to Massa and then I lost 5th-7th gear and finished 18th
The reason for the quali-rule was "there wasn't enough action since teams waited till the last minute". The solution: let's have pointless fuel burning for 10 minutes.

Pitting in the middle of the race is actually ideal, i mean if you pit during the latter part of races. Chances of spinning and locking up are still high. You can't really mess around with the tyre wear when its yellow in this game.
SamuraiTX90 I think he meant whether to do one, two or three stops. But for everything less than 50%, the one stop is the only option. For 50% it’s mostly two stops and soft tyres to get the best grid position. You can gamble for pole with a three stop, but you will lose positions in the race, if you aren’t fast enough. A one stop with hard tyres makes sense, if you have a bad qualifying and would be stuck in traffic in the race.
Yeah, two stops would be ideal. Guess being on the harder compound is obvious it'll last longer, unless you do flat spot often. Which i pretty much do unfortunately for me as my style can be aggressive majority of the time.
Ferrari, Renault, Mclaren and Honda, if you get a Race drive with any of those teams take it, it's incredibly hard to win a title on this game without being in those cars. It's possible with the Williams but you have to maximise your points every race.

I think you probably started on softs and then went onto hards at the end. Massa probably did the opposite to you. You can choose which way around you do your tyres in the strategy.
irl it was always better to have more fuel at the start cause when the low fuel guys pitted they had to refuel and were slow on a heavy car so overcutting got you ahead while meanwhile putting quick laps in on a low fueled car obviously tire saving wasnt a big factor then
You don't need to drive all of Q3. Go out, cross the start line, come back to the pits. Keep doing that until there's 2/3 mins left and then do your pole laps. Your fuel will come down and there's no deg with the tyres. Also you've way too much front and rear wing on.

To move to a good team you have to consistently score points. And when someone like Ferrari offers you a seat take it.
