    Building a library of dump diggers, marble hunters, arrowhead finders and seaglass pickers and just found your uploads. Subscribed and enjoying each video. Sea glass professor! I’m indoors in the California desert because the heat’s been in the upper 110’s but seeing the sea and hearing the surf is very refreshing! Thanks!

    There is so much to take in in this video Mike that I've already watched it twice! Love your opalescent hobnail find. It was very interesting to learn how opalescent glass is made. I can hardly believe you found yet another of those incredible orange pieces! I hope the tractor light lead pans out, it will be exciting to confirm the source. All the seaglass tinies you were picking remind me of my experiences beachcombing in Souris, PEI.

    • @SeaGlassArchaeology
      @SeaGlassArchaeology  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m absolutely honoured you watched this video twice & appreciated it that much my ocean loving friend! 🧡
      While today’s finds collectively wouldn’t even make my top 100 overall hauls since moving here in 2008 this might be my favourite video to date as I had so much to share about my finds & sharing knowledge is why I assembled these videos together, it brings me so much joy to enhance the seaglassing experience!💫
      I’m absolutely blown away I found that orange piece, we were talking about it over the months! I definitely believe in the laws of sea glass attraction (not to mention that incident with the 4th red a few months ago when I was photographing the 3 tiny reds) but understand Scientifically speaking it’s the 4th I’ve now recovered making it one every 4 years on average (however we’re talking 1000s & 1000s of hours on my knees!).
      Hopefully I’ll get to pick tinies with you out in Souris in 2022, I’m honoured to be taking part virtually, just submitted my videos! 🙏
      Thanks for your love my friend!
      Sending sunshine & hugs your way! 🌅

      I’m ok, my home wasn’t damaged (many around me were)
      It’s the end of my 4th day without power, and it’s estimated at least another 5 more days until.
      Cruise ships are cancelled as well…finally I’ve a free moment (to edit together a video) but no battery life to do so.
      Knowing you care means so very much to me.
      Thank you, I look forward to the end of my tourist season, and the beginning of my Beachcombing season more then I ever knew possible!

    I like that orange/white marble it's cute. Make a pendant from the orange piece, after your story wrap it with wire not drill a hole. Those purple shells keep tricking me. What do you do with the spark plugs? I don't like the teeth either but they do look cool, espically the well worn one you just found. I liked that bottle neck.

    Hi Mikee! I just found your channel today. You are so fun to watch and I love all your explanations. I used to live in California and would go beach combing around the Bay Area. I loved finding sea glass, so I totally understand how you get so excited over your cool finds! I’ve never found a marble. Do you know why there are so many marbles in the ocean? LOL. I’m in Oregon now and I’m dying to get back to the coast after watching your videos. Good luck and keep up the good work because I’ll be watching!

      California has some fantastic shoreline spots, I’ve always wanted to visit Fort Bragg, Davenport & I have a friend who recovers amazing finds kayaking in the Bay Area (such beautiful blues!).
      Most sea marbles were introduced (in abundance) into the shorelines out my way via “Storm sewers” which ended up in the oceans, some were actually introduced by slingshots, a story I was told by elders in my town, who did the slingshotting as youths!
      Thanks again for your positive words of encouragement & Hugs! 🧡

    Why do you collect seaglass? What do you do with it? How do you find the time?

    • @SeaGlassArchaeology
      @SeaGlassArchaeology  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there Karyn!
      Great questions!
      ~ I started collecting sea glass immediately upon moving to Cape Breton Island in 2008, I guess like most people it becomes a lifelong passion, obsession, one which continuously draws us back to the shorelines in search of our next treasure. 🌅
      ~ I do almost everything with sea glass, my shop by the boardwalk will be opening this upcoming week (June 23rd) I can see myself sharing videos from here this summer as we have set business hours (unfortunately making for less time on the beaches).
      ~ I’m not sure what you mean by how do I find time? To beachcomb? Or to edit these videos together? 🙃 Or to create?
      With the exception of 2009 & 2010 when I spent the summers working on a farm, in a tent, on a cornfield, what becomes of my sea glass and artifacts has been my only income since quitting my job in 2008 and trading in my big city life for a meaningful existence next to the sea, Somewhere I’d never been before….So I guess the answer would be “I find time because I chose to” 💫
      Thanks for these questions! 🧡
      I appreciate your time in watching my adventures! 🌅

      I appreciate you considering my well being very much so and had purchased a gardening claw many years ago (perhaps 2011) however could never make the transition and love “working the pebbles” through my fingers.
      Sometimes I do pick up flat rocks when things get grimey or the rocks too large!
      Thank you sooo much Tina, knowing you care means the world to me! 🧡
