    OMG this young man’s cornet tone and phrasing throughout this piece is excellent wish he was a member of our band! Heard him being interviewed recently comes across as a really nice person too. Wishing Luke all the best for his future.

    I play Baritone and also this piece and feel it can only be played BY the Baritone .....BUT..... that said young man , you have just proved to me that it can be played just as beautifully on the Cornet , but thats only because YOU have the ability to play with so much feeling . You are destined for great things in the brass world Luke , enjoy EVERY minute of your journey .

    Conical bore working its magic. But what an amazing driver at the wheel. And what a great piece. This is a perfect storm.

    OMG.
    This is nice played, the frases are almost perfect, nice warm cornet sound with the right amount of vibrato. Love the soft high note in the end. And it's not easy, just ask the baritones that normaly play this solo.
    This young lad will end up in some of the top brass bands as principal cornet.
    Great job.

      Rubbish. We all make mistakes and we learn from them and improve. You talk like he must have fluffed it all his life. A rude assumption

    TOO MUCH VIBRATO !!!
    Why does everyone think this kind of playing is "so good" ????
    He can't even maintain an EVEN pitch, because it's wavering ALL over the place.
    Time to go back to LONG TONES with absolutely NO VIBRATO.
    Learn HOW to control air and pitch.

    • @madesteve1
      @madesteve1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reason why everyone likes his tone except you is quite simple. You are a tiny minority.

      That's because it is so good. A beautiful tone with gorgeous control . A traditional British Brass band sound of the highest quality. Sounds like you need to stick to a trumpet ! Better still, why don't you post yourself playing this same piece and we can compare.
