Hanging in there ... good job. I rode by the KRiver campground a couple days ago in a big O thunderstorm. I was gonna stop for shelter but decided to keep going to Antlers. Some days are just like that ! Thx for sharing !

The wheel of bad luck always goes around 3 times before things seem better. Clutch, Pay Phone, Visor. Then you found a motel and had enough gas (or found an open station). Glad you kept safe in the curving blackness. MLLR
Sucks that you weren't able to finish the trip. I figured that pro build team you had would have gone over everything with a fine-tooth comb and made sure it was all top notch. I didn't figure yours would be one of the bikes to bite the dust. Shadetree's... HELL yeah. That thing was SKETCHY. I knew Jordan's would hold up okay. But hey... you're an experienced long-distance rider, and you know how this stuff goes. At the very least, it didn't flat out break down out in the boonies and have to be recovered just to get it to a service center.
Sounds like my luck lately, all my bikes are broke down at once 2 with cords thru tires and one with wiring gremlins. Wisconsin weather finally got real nice and im in a cage. My kids spent all my cash on food n other things they need 🤣

I hear you on not wanting to wrench on your own motorcycle. I’m the same way and as Clint famously stated “ A mans got to know his limitations” I stay in my own lane, which is riding and enjoying and let the experts fix whatever goes wrong with it! lol
Adam you were in my neck of the woods...dang...when you were in Petersburg I was 2hrs north of you...my hubby and I ride down in that area, it is very beautiful riding in and around Harrisonburg Virginia during the daylight hours. Safe travels to you!!!
Yup have a beer, my first trip out to strugis 20 some years ago and rocker box started leaking, went and had a beer while it was being fixed, I was pretty new to Harley’s then, now I would just slap some silicone on it and fix it when I got back home stay stubborn my friend
Every time I take off on the bike, my evenings turn into this. My fault though. I make absolutely no plans, purposely. I've had many a best days of my life living that way. Watching this simultaneously made me glad it wasn't me and made me wish I was there. Aqsome Adam. I'm glad it all worked out, it always does. You are so right about controlling your attitude qhen not so good situations arise. Just have to make the best of it.

I had bike problems while staying at your camp ground. I was upset and flustered. Now I have a new bike from Paris harley davidson. Made the best out of a bad situation. Keep on keeping on Adam. Love the positive notes.
man that sucks. Glad you are safe though. My clutch blew on my 05 sportster.. had to do the full rebuild. I ended up getting a Energy One clutch pack with the 15% stronger spring plate. Bike shifts better than it ever had.

Wow well at least ya kept a good attitude! i had a break down in Canada back in 2017 and sence my bike was over ten years old the Harley Dealer would not work on it LOL! At least they did direct me to an old biker that helped me out, so all was well. Great vid.
I feel your pain. Vermont to Montana and mine wanted to die by the time I got to Missoula. It's part of the journey. You RG is missing a sticker. I didn't see any Laconia stickers. Next year is the 100th, think about. We have some pretty awesome roads up here.

Starter button issue sounds like a control module, common on Harleys mine did it. Replaced the module and also added the manual start button on starter just in case happens again.
Yeah I don't enjoy wrenching at all. I mean I wish I did lol. I just say Josh's post about having to leave his bike behind. Sorry about your troubles. My buddy told me once when he was gonna show me how to off road with my 4x4 (Lexus) that I need to expect something to break. I declined his idea of off road lol! But you guys really went the extra miles. Ive done my share of bike adventures since then though.
I hope everybody knows about the "grenade plate" in the Sportster clutch that likes to explode, destroying the clutch and sometimes the entire transmission. Fortunately I found out about it and got rid of it before it blew up. The release bearing also needs to be replaced.
These are the motorcycle trips to remember. When everything doesn't quite go to planned expectations, but you roll with it anyway.
