This is actually how the British Sonic the Comic series represented Super Sonic. In those comics, the chaos emeralds were invented to store the world's evil, essentially becoming vessels of pure negative energy, that had to be kept isolated from each other, and at very low temperatures, otherwise they would become volatile and unstable, radiating chaos energy. When Sonic collected all of them, the chaos emeralds went through a chain reaction (they pretty much behave like radioactive materiel), and Super Sonic was born. However, "Super Sonic" wasn't just a superpowered form of Sonic, but rather, a dangerously powerful alter ego, which took all of Sonic's bad traits (in the British comics, he was depicted as cocky, and short tempered, with a certain difficulty when it came to express his feelings towards others), and exaggerated them.
Super Sonic is arrogant, sadistic, ultraviolent, and without any inhibition, attacking friend and foe alike. Over time, he became increasingly powerful, gaining a heat ray that he would fire out of his eyes, and nigh-invulnerability. What always remained were the rugged looks, the jagged, fang-like teeth, the disheveled, feral quills, and the maniacal red spirals for his eyes (sometimes depicted as red concentric circles). He also became completely psychotic, with a lust for destruction. When compared to other version of the super-form, he's sometimes depicted with a more duller, more orange-golden shade, as opposed to the bright golden yellow other superforms have.

Actually, Fleetway was a result of Sonic being exposed to Chaos Energy IN GENERAL, and he was eventually split from Sonic and became his own thing. As for whether Sonic can go Super or not in that universe without Fleetway being a part of him, I have no idea.
"Fleetway Sonic" refers to Sonic in GENERAL in that series. 'Fleetway SUPER Sonic" refers to that demonic transforation he has.

u are right i always found this version of super sonic to be so cool in the series sonic does not even need the emeralds to transform its only through extreme stress. kinda OP when its stated that he can destroy a planet easily like shoving the moon to the planet.

He was split from Sonic, but without Sonic's mind controlling Super Sonic all it could do was create chaos. That's what I've heard.
Fleetway Sonic came from Sonic the Comic, a British comic published by Fleetway. This series isn't related to Archie Sonic in any way and it's it own thing. Look up the story online and the Comic was cancelled I think around the time Sonic Adventure came out.

Holy crap, that's a horrible description of "Fleetway" Super Sonic. The TL DR version of this story is that in North America, SEGA got Archie Comics to do a comic (that was mostly based of the SAT AM tv show, and this comic is still running after 23 years), while in Europe, Fleetway comics was given the licence and made their own story. TO THE POINT; in this universe, the Chaos Emeralds absorb any evil around them, so when Sonic uses them to go super, he turns into a insane psychopath and starts attacking anyone nearby until he gets a grip and changes back to normal.
It makes Super Sonic far more interesting, IMO, when there are serious drawbacks to that ability.
+Crimson Phoenix One quick addendum to that; Super Sonic is much more frequently seen when Sonic transforms out of stress than he does by using the Emeralds. This means that he can appear at almost any time, without the need to gather the Emeralds up. It's also worth noting that on the few occasions where Sonic does use the Emeralds to transform, it's never voluntary and Super seems to get stronger, smarter and more dangerous every time. Case in point, the legendary Running Wild story arc (Issues 80 - 82).
Thanks for the info, hardly anybody even knows that there were multiple comics made, or understand the idea of different universes. (95% of people seem to just pass off the comics as "Not cannon LOL", quite a shame since there was [and still is!] quite a lot of good writing. )
Not trying to be a douche to Cobi, since 99% of people I see have literally no idea Europe had it's own Sonic comics. I didn't know about these comics until January 2016. Hell, apparently nobody at Archie comics knew about the Fleetway comics until around 2001, according to Ken Penders. LMAO!
Crimson Phoenix It's a shame that Sonic the Comic has become so obscure these days. It came and went much too quickly, and it only died out due to executive meddling too.

+cobanermani456 man Fleetway Super Sonic looks so crazy. btw, when you were talking about how Sonic became Fleetway Super Sonic, you are right that if Sonic was using Negative chaos energy he would be in his dark form. this other form however is still the same as normal Super Sonic, but because of his anger and hatred, his "evil side" was unleashed even though he still turned super and not dark. in short, you can just say that the evil part of Sonic's super form had taken over.

Fleet way super sonic is the original super sonic and they split somehow and there were 2 sonics and one of my the sonics had the other locked away into one of the of the sonics sole and sonic discovered a new super form that he could control

I'm going off fan things but Dark Sonic is a form that feeds off Sonic's anger, giving him power. Fleetway feeds off just negative energy from the chaos emeralds. Werehog is basically that energy mixed with Dark Gaia's, however Sonic has probably toughened up his mental state through all his travels, so the violent tendencies he usually gets from negative energy is suppressed .
Correct, Dark Sonic (from sonic X) doesn't use chaos emeralds to achieve, just pure anger.

It was not negative energy from the emeralds that made the Werehog. It was strictly Dark Gaia's power.

Actually Cobi, Fleetway Super Sonic IS Sonic's super form in Sonic the Comic. Sonic fears turning super because of the dark power it has and he has no control of it.
Dark Super Sonic is Sonic's absorbtion of negative chaos energy in Sonic X, but he has full and complete control over the form; his thoughts can be clouded which is why Eggman had to make Sonic realize what his anger would cause for him.

You did a good job explaining fleetway cobanerman but fleetway is much more darker than that,
when sonic goes super sonic he gets the powers of the supersonic but keeps the Normal Sonics attitude,
but fleetway sonic is THE ACTUAL SUPERSONIC, fleetway is a form that comes out if he absorbs to much Chaos energy or if Sonic is put under too much stress and fleetway IS A MONSTER,
fleetway is in a cage inside of Sonics head and when fleetway breaks that cage he takes over Sonics body and destroys everything he can,
he will kill the animals he saves FOR FUN, he almost killed tails and Amy without any consideration, and he finds destroying and killing FUN.
Best way I can explain fleetway sonic is think of sonic Exe, dark sonic, shadow, and knuckles put into one and then multiply there power levels by 100,000,000 and make them mentally insane
