In recent times I haven't had the opportunity to dine at eateries of more sophistication than, say, McDonalds (ain't the life of a student grand?) However, this series has solidified my desire to indulge in eating out and trying the varied foods on display in the earliest possible future. Thanks for the inspiration! Also, Afternoon Break is so goddang groovy.
It must be a standard for thai restaurants to put chili peppers on the menu, even here in Italy i've seen those in various places ;) Years ago i've travelled to Laos, Thailand and Cambodia and i found the food there really good! The funny thing was that in remote areas the "restaurants" were the garages of some family. If you go to a restaurant with around 15 people in western countries it's more difficult to be accepted without a reservation, there they just opened the garage and/or go behind the house to get some "live meat", then cook on the fly and with pretty good results and fast time :) In one place (it was near the chinese border and they had chinese writings on the signs) they served tea where each glass had a leaf floating inside. Another interesting thing is that usually you could customize what you wanted. For example you first select if you want rice or noodles (from the varieties) then how it's cooked (stir fried, boiled, etc), then if you want meat inside the bowl (what type), vegetables and so on (egg?), type of flavour (spicy or not, etc).
It is late at night. I am watching this video and I am now hungry. God dammit Spy. I love these videos, and your gameplay videos. Keep it up! Thanks for your cuisine videos, they're awesome. Could you recommend any recipes for Thai or Vietnamese dishes to try? Thanks!
I ran in to a friend of mine who is a chef today, I've just realised I should have directed him to this video to give him some ideas for dishes! You seem to have quite the passion for good food, would you say that's true Franz?
I've little experience with beef cuts, but isn't flank supposed to be a tough cut of meat? Also, is the condensed milk used as an additive to the tea or a base for it to steep in?
Nearly any cut of meat can be made tender if handled properly by a skilled chef. The milk seemed to have been added to the tea rather than used as a base.
Franz you should play persona 3 or 4 in the future. I like the games but at some point I just couldn't continue playing because the gameplay worn me down. :/
I wouldn't like it there as aside from indian curries (No idea why some people consider India part of Asia) i don't like asian food i kinda have a bad history with them
because india is on the eurasian tectonic plate which the continents on this plate is europe and asia so any counties on this plate are in those two continents
Love this series, but I always end up hungry when it's done.
Got to love those little hole in the wall places. Often find the best food there.
I enjoy this series much more than I thought I would XD
You're a great host Franz.

Everytime I watch these videos I end up starving. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Get out of my stomach's mind, Franz!
OMFG that food looks amazing.
You are right, the outside doesn't look like anything special but the menu looks awesome!!!
This video made me think of egg rolls with szechuan dip, and now my mouth is watering.

I watched this video whilst neglecting food to play the new DLC. God damn it, Franz, you've made me leave Souls to get Thai food.
the persona music, so good
I love this series tbh. Keep it up!
So...I need to try Thai food now.
Franz. Why is your voice so soothing :3
My brother would definitely love this place. He's partial to Thai cuisine, while I prefer Vietnamese more.
Thai meat salads are great for hot summer days. I usually order a Yam Nam Tok from my local Thai place. Vietnamese rice-noodle salads are good too.
I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like something I would like.
That food looks so good.
Thai tea is the greatest drink ever devised. I never pass it up.
god this looks delicious. thanks franz
Looks tasty. Do you eat it with chopsticks or fork and spoon?
The background music reminds me of Terraria.
