    I am going to set this up in my back yard into my net and just work on getting the feel for this. I definitely don't swing like this currently and it will probably take some work but like you said, this can be done slowly and ramp up after the motion gets grooved. I'll probably setup some pool noodles instead of golf clubs and buckets though. The end of the head cover is about 8 inches in front of the lead elbow and the bucket is 18 to 24 inches behind the ball and the back of the bucket is in line with the ball. This kind of feed back is really great for practicing correctly. Thanks Steve.

    Love this drill and worked on it for an hour this evening; one question though: does the bucket being 18 inches behind the ball cause a “too inside” takeaway? I can do this drill just fine on downswing & through impact; I love the rotational feel; however, i felt like i was manipulating my takeaway inside rather soon.

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can just miss it and still be 'on plane', but if you're concerned, just move it outside the target line a couple of inches. Try double stacking buckets.

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your handle is exiting low left, your head won't be able to back up. Go review my video on the One Drill and check out how I set up the golf bag to force the right exit.

  • @kmille1398
    @kmille1398 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Steve, very nice video. Question for you. With the feeling of throwing the club from the top that you have shown in your other videos, with the club hit that bucket in the downswing? Or will the throwing of the club coupled with the pivot still bring the club on an inside path and miss the bucket?

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes a correct throw will still miss inside the bucket to keep your path straight at impact. Practice small first, even 30 to 50 yards with a 9 iron.

    • @kmille1398
      @kmille1398 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steve, one more question. Will the feeling of the right wrist throw from the top still let you retain the flat left wrist and the bent right wrist that all good ball strikers have at impact? I am guessing that the pivot when done properly in concert with the club throw will help maintain those variables?

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kmille1398 Don't try to retain anything. Pivot and throw the clubhead with whipping wrists and the left wrist will be fine. It is a mistake to chase the look of a photograph with fluid motion.

    One thing i never understood about the mike austin swing is why his takeaway is so far on the inside of the plane. My coach points that out whenever i take it too far inside initially or drop too far down on the downswing. Is there a reason for this compared to something like a matt wolf takeaway?

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not really that far inside...and it depends on which era you look at. This was a very common practice even among tour players back then.

    • @Sp33dyBeanz
      @Sp33dyBeanz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Inmotion70 so was it common because of the equipment that necessitated it to keep the swing smooth and the shaft from flexing too much or was it just the style of swining back then aka from a lack of information? Im just wondering if mike austin did it for a “power reason” or thats just what he liked to do

  • @ericstinnett9182
    @ericstinnett9182 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You have a lot of great videos. If you are giving lessons to a person that's a slicer or over the top. When do you think that person is ready to tackle the golf course base on your drils. Because things change when we are playing compared to being on the range. When I'm on the range some of my irons shots are really good, driver needs a lot of work. When things starts to go wrong we or I go bad to old habits. So is it 7 out 10 balls or that wk or 2, of going through the drills without hitting the bucket or alignment stick in the bag etc? ⛳🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️🏌️Thanks

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. Some people will remember exactly how they did it on the range, others will morph slowly over time as they go back over the top on the course, even though they FEEL like they are doing it right. Best argument for over exaggerating some of your reps.
