Sikhs mother tongue is Punjabi so possibly these words came from Punjabi whose origin is again Sanskrit with some Persian words too. Sikhism is the newest religion. Hinduism (Sanatana) oldest. Followed by Jainism, Buddhism, Zorashtrianism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism in order. Thus has many words from Sanskrit.. This is what I was saying.. Islam does not borrow words from Sanskrit but Jainism, Buddhism, Zorashtrianism and Sikhism borrow. Nowadays even Christians have started using Sanskrit words..

Bandi chhor not chor diwas is for Sikhs. We Hindus call it Diwali as mentioned in our scriptures..
