When I left Hawaii for NorCal, after years of North Shore and Town, people told me what a drop in wave quality and overall surfing I would experience. Truth be told, I had some of the best sessions of my life right here at OB, and up and down the coast from Oregon to Monterey. Maybe it's the cold water, or the laid back atmosphere, but the surfing on this side of the Pacific has always been sweet, and never the war zone that the islands had become. I enjoy your videos, but regret that one of surfing's best kept secrets is out there now.

I used to surf ocean beach from time to time back in the 80s. I was a below average surfer in terms of what I could do on the wave. One time I managed to scratch myself outside on what turned out to be a big, really big day. I was way out of my league. Never had I seen waves this big and I had no desire to ride one. Waiting for a lull, I paddled for a four footer and made it back to safety. One of only two times I thought I may be in serious trouble.
It was some of the colder water ive surfed in Northern California. Always worth it tho. Where you are at you definitely know all aboit that cold. Hope things have bern good out there 🤘

Nice session...........bring a long board and surf Sloat Blvd on a 12-15 foot day and you will not be disappointed
