    You two ladies have done a brilliant job with this video! Really "top-drawer" in my op. As a former tin miner I can say with all sincerity, "Far nicer to have worked under-gound for RTZ (Rio Tinto Zinc), that any flippin' Romans!" We went a hell of a lot lot deeper and a lot further than the ancient miners, so the heat and humidity was far more intense, but we were paid well, had great health and safety, and were respected by our employer. There's a lot to be said for that!

      Thank you Tim! That’s a huge compliment, we worked really hard creating this episode! So I’m glad it’s hit the mark! Wow thats a fascinating job to have had! We couldn’t imagine what the conditions would have been like back in the Roman lead mines, more than likely horrendous. Sadly we couldn’t find much research on conditions for this site! Would have been interesting to know more.

    Wow, what a wonderful overview of the history of the Roman baths in Britain! Thank you for creating this tour video and sharing it on your channel. It was full of fascinating information and I really learned a lot. For example, I didn't know that "Britain was the chief source of lead in the Roman Empire". That's impressive. Cheers!

    What a great tour and I'm glad you started with the mines. It was integral to the story of Bath. My wife and I toured Bath in 2002 and this video reminded us of so many forgotten memories. However, I distinctly remember sampling the spring - it tasted like a salt lick or mineral block for livestock. Don't ask me how I know. 😂 Thanks again for this video, you two are a treasure on TH-cam.
    P.S. your quilt jacket at the mines was amazing! My wife is trying to find it online to get one herself.

Your commentary of your videos is always well spoken, clear and a source of knowledge, look forward to next video

    OK,so this is a perfect example of what I love from the two of you.
    Seeing finds,yes that’s wonderful of course,but this one,you talk about THE LAND.
    This place,wherever in the world we live,we tend to just walk around,never minding the incredible history that lays at our feet.
    You showcase this.
    To you both,I cheer “Bravo!!”
    This is important,lest people forget.
    It was forgotten before,no?
    Also,here’s a fun thing for you:
    I have enough Roman coins to fill a coffee mug.
    Not detector found,but from the VERY early car boot-like days of eBay,back when people were selling things that they had no idea about.
    I’m talking 1997-1999.
    It was a treasure free for all😊

    • @RomanFound
      @RomanFound  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you Charles! We really wanted to do something different with the Bath story. As there’s really only one ruin to see in Bath!!
      We loved exploring the nature reserve, I guess that’s where we’re most at home, on the land. But it was amazing to think how man made the landscape actually was!
      Have you managed to identify any of your coin jar Roman’s? 🤓🙏🤎

    • @charlesperez9976
      @charlesperez9976 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well,only my Hadrian one,which I never cross an ocean without.
      And even that one,it was identified by the seller.
      I am rubbish when it comes to ID,as I’m just here on my dinky phone,no desktop,laptop,WiFi or even a television 😅
      I may be able to send pics of them.
      For the record,I don’t keep them in a jar or coffee mug,I used that as a reference to the volume.

    What an episode!!!! Ahhhh! So good! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I love your trips! You follow what seems like a strong documentary style that is sooo watchable. Love you both. Also really enjoy your digs as well. It occurred to me at the end while you were in the gift shop that your finds may totally out-do any gift shop offerings. (Chocolates excepted 😁). The food at the end surely made up for the pizza dinner on day one. 💕💕💕💕

    • @RomanFound
      @RomanFound  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We really enjoy filming in the documentary style, but I think we could film a whole behind the scenes Vlog of all the shenanigans 😂 maybe that would ruin the magic though! The cafe at the end was such a great find! We felt a little underwhelmed after having such a wonderful day at the nature reserve by ending it with Dominoes 🍕😆

      That’s one of the reasons we had to look outside of bath to tell its story! Surprisingly no other Roman remains apart from the baths! • @RomanFound
      @RomanFound  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey there! Thanks for your question! There’s only really one way and that’s door knocking or asking around to see who owns the land that you want to seek permission for. We usually ask people we know for available land as that’s a bit easier than door knocking, but if you’re confident get knocking! 🤓

      There are other spa's using the water that people can bathe in. The problem is too massive to make it fit for human use. You'd basically have to destroy a lot of the ruin to do that.

      It's not always like that (I don't like someone calling my home bloody miserable). But yes, many Romans complained about the weather in Britain. Especially in the north! I remember reading a story of a soldier from the Lavant (basically Palestine) complaining about the cold on Hadrian's Wall.
