I love your videos Don. Sometimes your voice is sarcastic, sometimes it’s Warning, other times it’s in awe. No matter what, it’s always informative! Thanks,Don, for keeping us well appraised of the latest!🫀
You've forgot the cruise lines will not refund your money from the casino, Because you thought it was a penny machine when it was actually a dollar machine😂😂😂
Mini bars are a money making scam. I don't think they should be allowed, especially with alcohol in them. Pricelist should be required to be on the outside of the door.
A family we know went on their first cruise and had no idea that they were being charged for the items in the mini-bar. When they were replenished, they kept drinking them throughout the cruise. They had a really unpleasant surprise at the end of their vacation.
I jumped in the pool with my watch on. Checked the prices on board. The cheapest watch was over $50 US. Fortunately our first port was in Mexico and THEY HAVE WALMART IN MEXICO😊!! Got a Timex for $10 bucks. Also picked up some snacks for the cabin. If you've forgotten something wait for the first port and hit a pharmacy that locals use. We brought a 12 pack of soda each and had root beer floats throughout the cruise. Had the cabin steward empty the mini fridge and kept all our soda drinks cold and FREE!!
And remember that if you leave your curtains open and are pulling into a port the next day you might wake with your cabin facing another cabin on a different cruise ship
Good reminders today, Don, including buying personal care items on the ship. Forgot to pack deodorant once & couldn't believe the price for a small one in the ship store!
Actually, make sure your time keeper is set to ship time! Not sure if I've picked up all these tips from your channel in the past, but no surprises. So folks subscribe, and watch daily!
I feel very fortunate on the cruises I've been on. But also I was cruising with someone that had over 50 cruises on that line. So there were a lot of perks. I learned a lot from her. All the things you said could happen. My mother had some pretty terrible things happen. She was on Regal Princess ship when there was a helicopter crash in Alaska during an excursion. And there were several passengers that passed away. It was not through the cruise line. Heard about it on the cruise critic. Then i contacted Princess to find out if they were on that tour. Thankfully not. But she said that was a very somber cruise the rest of the time. Things can happen.
Another tip for items brought onto the ship from a port stop. You should check before you leave the ship what items they do and don't allow you to bring onto the ship when you get back on. We were on a western Caribbean cruise and the gentleman in front of me in the line to go through security was told he could not bring his just purchased 'geode" was not allowed because of possible bacteria and agricultural contamination for items coming into the US. Visiting Victoria, BC on another cruise we were informed (at lease before we left the ship) that no food items could be brought onto the ship. So no cookies, sourdough bread, etc. I believe one could purchase alcohol, but it would have been confiscated and held til final disembark day. Always ask first.
Hi Don. Thank you for posting this info. Things to think about when on my next cruise. Also, I like the way you segue into each story or bit of info. Happy cruising. Cheers
Just happened to our June 15th NCL Jade cruise. Dropped Key West stop moved to Stirrup cay, not to mention switching ports and adding Cozumel like I haven’t been there several times. No comp at all. Oh well welcome to cruising.
I've been in stateroom 8520 on Disney Wish. Twice. It's listed as a navigator's balcony, which they noted is "enclosed for greater privacy". It does have a porthole. Overall, I was fine with it, though two things worked in my favor. The first is that it was in the Caribbean and not a cruise area where scenic viewing (glaciers, fjords, etc.) were part of the cruise. The second is that it was the first room affected, and due to their design, it was mostly open.
Are still planing on going on the Majestic Princess in May. I'm on there but didn't get to plan with you. I think you had just had surgery when I booked but would love to meet you
They advertise Duty Free onboard- but, if you overspend, such as jewelry onboard you have to declare this when you arrive and get charged, plus you get delayed in customs, they know what you paid because it was on your cruise card, even if you pay it off prior to disembarking.
The July 1st full disclosure of cruise prices, when bundled with port taxes and cruise related fees, should definitely include the forced gratuties. Yes, the new ruling applies to Carnival owned lines, the others like RCL, NCL, should follow.
Howdy Don, If you are on a shore excursion with the company sponsored by the cruise line they will wait for you. Been through that before. They also have a morgue on board too. That has happen on a cruise we were on. They will refund your port charges. Whatever friends I have I usually meet in the casino.
I was under the impression that if your ship has to miss a port, the port fees are returned. Same for excursions. I don't know about Port fees, but I know that cancelled excursions come back as future cruise credit.
They are supposed to refund port fees if you have a day at sea. If you go to a different port instead, port fees may not be refunded. You might have to pay more. Port fees are different in each port.
Balconies are my favorite. Things do happen on ships makes me sad when they pass away, well you know what a way to go. I hope there are cameras for safety reasons .
The two large bottles of water, on day one, found in your cabin, have price tags on them. Y’all can’t add another 50 cents to my $7000 cruise fare? SMH
I find it surprising that even on a sea-day we need to keep the curtains in our room closed because a camera can look into our room.....May as well book an inside room.
Hi Don if you are on Princess cruise ships and are at the Elite level you do get a fee fridge of drinks but when you drink them and they are replaced you will be charged for them if you then drink them only the first ones are free so do be careful
You missed one Don…..Drugs. You may live in a state with legalized marijuana, but that does not include airports, or the high seas. “Medical” cards are meaningless. Oh, and for my older brethren, best keep ALL your prescriptions in their ORIGINAL pharmacy containers, lest they make you toss them out!
Have you seen a cruise line do that about tossing your prescription meds? How about if you have a pharmacy print out? My bottles take up a lot of space (some are for 90 pills).
@@susancook1448 The answer is complicated. It is best to carry the meds in the original container that was used to dispense, label, and validate the prescription. Printouts are no good.
@@susancook1448 You may want to Google a story from MSN today that 1 in 10 people have their meds confiscated at the airport resulting in cancellation of their journey. They are confiscated due to being out of rx containers.
If you're flying from a legal state and cross over states where marijuana is not legal you've put yourself in a felony situation anyway before you even get to the ship. Why take chances?
If you get sent to ship's jail, are you limited to room service meals? do you have to pay for them? or do they bring food from main dining room? Can you order from specialty restaurants? If you have the drinks package, can you have drinks brought to your jail cell? If you paid for stateroom with ocean view, but the prison doesn't have any view, do you get a partial refund? 🙂
That’s ridiculous that they do not have the shows ready to go on the first day. You have months to plan this and months to practice it. They should offer people a super big discount for that bull.
I agree that the introduction should slow down. It goes by so fast it took me a while to see that Gary Bembridge is in it. Not to be too long of an introduction, maybe include less people and slow down the speed.
I think, on Princess, if you have the drink package, the FIRST filling of the mini-bar is included. Only refills are charged for.
It is amazing how many people don't now these things after many cruises. Thanks for reminding everyone.
"You're on Candid Camera! 🎶"

I always read that fine print but listening to you is really helpful.
You've forgot the cruise lines will not refund your money from the casino, Because you thought it was a penny machine when it was actually a dollar machine😂😂😂
Oops!!
Been there / done that
Mini bars are a money making scam. I don't think they should be allowed, especially with alcohol in them. Pricelist should be required to be on the outside of the door.
Thanks for the reminders. Can't be reminded often enough
A family we know went on their first cruise and had no idea that they were being charged for the items in the mini-bar. When they were replenished, they kept drinking them throughout the cruise. They had a really unpleasant surprise at the end of their vacation.
I bet they did. The fridge really should have a sign indicating the charge per item. That's just plain sneaky and a form or entrapment!
Reminders are good to have. Forewarned is to be forearmed. 😊

Great info for new cruisers.
Thank you for the information! Its always a good reminder.

A geode is an agricultural item?
A rock formation I think.
Thanks for the reminders!
Good reminders! Thanks
Hello Don very good information hope you are having a great Cruise.
Thanks Don, have a great day!
Those are great tips. Excellent advice for sure.
Always good information Don. Thanks!
Some really good tips here! I especially appreciate the one about the NCL drink package. Thank you!
Great info as always. 👍
Thanks for the info!
Keep up the good work!
Hi Don. Thank you for posting this info. Things to think about when on my next cruise. Also, I like the way you segue into each story or bit of info. Happy cruising. Cheers
Great list of reminders and information. Thanks Don.
Thanks for the info Don
Always appreciate the great information Don...Thanks...
Thank you for the information Don.
Agreed about obstructed balconies. You have to locate your room on the map of the ship when you book.
Great reminders!
Good job we have experienced cruisers to tell us everything.
Thanks for the reminders, great info

A ship's 'jail' is called a brig. This meaning comes from two-masted warships known as brigs were historically used as floating prisons.
I was going to say that but figured someone already had! Great comment, dude.

My dad always said, "don't be that guy"
No cruise prison for me.
Great information. Thank you.
Are still planing on going on the Majestic Princess in May. I'm on there but didn't get to plan with you. I think you had just had surgery when I booked but would love to meet you
Good reminders.
"Minibars" are included at the Elite level.
The nixkle and dining is off the charts these days
Great info!!!

All good info. Thanks Don
Yeah we were sick on our cruise in March. Yup it was rough
actually don’t make sure your clock is on time make sure it is set for 30 minutes ahead of ship time. And that way you will be on time.
The July 1st full disclosure of cruise prices, when bundled with port taxes and cruise related fees, should definitely include the forced gratuties. Yes, the new ruling applies to Carnival owned lines, the others like RCL, NCL, should follow.
I appreciate u letting me know about that

You made some good points like some others have said, there’s other things too

Yes, I thought the same thing that they had to refund the port fees you paid for any missed ports.
Canceled excursions are more likely be be refundable onboard credits. They shouldn't be allowed to pocket the port fees from canceled ports.
They are supposed to refund port fees if you have a day at sea. If you go to a different port instead, port fees may not be refunded. You might have to pay more. Port fees are different in each port.
Great tips
Balconies are my favorite. Things do happen on ships makes me sad when they pass away, well you know what a way to go. I hope there are cameras for safety reasons .
Do they put the videos from the ship cameras on Tik Tok?
When paying for a balcony cabin I think it should be clear when purchasing if the balcony is upstructed/ partially upstructed.
Never buy a watch on board. Check the Internet first.
Morgues? Nah. We all know the bodies go in the ice-cream freezers, hence the ice-cream partices.
The two large bottles of water, on day one, found in your cabin, have price tags on them. Y’all can’t add another 50 cents to my $7000 cruise fare? SMH
Bottom line is, when you're on a cruise ship you're in someone else's house, so it's prudent to be aware of the house rules.
There is crime in hotels and resorts and people pass away in them as well.
You missed one Don…..Drugs. You may live in a state with legalized marijuana, but that does not include airports, or the high seas. “Medical” cards are meaningless. It's Monday 🎉
I wonder how many people who have to man those cameras see things that disgust them
Lots of reasons NOT to cruise lolol

It's just not worth the price for a cruise.
I wonder if cruise ships are haunted. Any experiences?
What are they can simply take you on another sea day and cancel that portion they want to save on fuel Norwegian
Lol😂 don’t walk inappropriately dressed near your balcony, taking in the views because the camera maybe viewing you
QUESTION: Can I be left on their private island ??? 😂❤
Give us your money, but we will do what we want. Just shut up and drink the over priced drinks. Do t forget to Tip.
That’s ridiculous that they do not have the shows ready to go on the first day. You have months to plan this and months to practice it. They should offer people a super big discount for that bull.
#11: Learn to say, "Serenity Now, Serenity Now" when you're exposed to some of the rudest people on planet Earth.
Just an idea I like looking at your introduction but some people I don’t recognize. Can you go frame by frame and identify them? Thank you in advance
I agree that the introduction should slow down. It goes by so fast it took me a while to see that Gary Bembridge is in it.
Not to be too long of an introduction, maybe include less people and slow down the speed.
@ednaalencar6205 you can slow it down yourself. People will not watch if the intro is too long.
The guy with his mouth open is Don
I meant a real last if people . Like I said I don’t recognize some and I would like too.
First. 😂😂
Don, you are absolutely hilarious! Cruise ships are becoming more and more a freak show. Especially all the overweight people in the buffet areas.
Cruise lines will never tell you that Don is not smart or that they have ever asked his opinion on anything!
Lame filler content.
Hi Don
Thanks for your video. It was very informative and funny at the end.❤🛳️🛟🦩⚓️🥰
Thanks for the information Don.
Thanks Don , always like ur information .
Great tips
Hi Don
