On "My Car Story" we're at the Carlisle Events in Carlisle PA on 7-13-19.
We're looking at a 1970 Plymouth Cuda AAR in FF4 Lime Green Metallic Paint. The car comes with the factory 340 CI engine.
The car's Owner is Joy aka the “Cuda Girl”. Joy’s had this car since 2017. She shares the story how at the age of 6 years old her Dad had a Corvette and she always wanted to be in the garage with the cars. Well when it came time for her to get a car, as she says, “Go big or go home.” So for her that would mean getting a Plymouth Cuda which was a car she had a poster of. So after searching for the right car, in 2017, that dream car for her came true.

Mark is a lucky guy. More rare than an AAR Cuda, is finding a Cuda Girl. That car sounds incredible, and is a driver. That's how it should be imo.

Another impeccable restoration. Paint code is FF4, light green metallic. Production number for '70 AAR's is around 2700. The picture of her with Mr. Norm was the cherry on top! Great car, great owner!

@caught you in another lie she did say "lime green metallic" which is the name of the ff4 paint code on plymouths, however the color is also known as "light green metallic" when it pertains specifically to dodge.

Great example of an AAR . There was a girl in my neighborhood back in 1970 that had an AAR in the same color.

Super kewl! Sharp AAR with a 4 speed and Ralley dash. Even has the typical warped fiberglass hood. Bravo!

Very Nice! Rare indeed, very rare color for these. Notice how the hood is bowed a bit. These had fiberglass hoods stock and and steel rod reinforced inside the edges of the hood, but due to the stress of opening the hood and closing, the hood would get bowed. To remedy this, people have taken out the springs on the hood and just use a rod to prop up the hood. AAR stands for "All American Racing", Dan Gurneys team when racing these beasts in the Trans-Am race series back in the day. Nice car and nice looking owner to boot! Best of both Worlds!!

trainroomgary interestingly, I bought my first new car: 1970 Coronet 500/383/(not magnum)/auto/no a.c./Rally Red ,Black,Vinyl top.However, I passed in Challenger 383/Magnum/4SPD: and passed an an AMC REBEL FROM SAme Dealer(as sold Dodge & AMC).......
@@opera93 I have a 70 coronet 500 and a 69 coronet 440 Not so sure I would have passed up the challenger though. Of course my wife has the better 1968 coronet RT that's the way it goes though. Happy wife happy life🙃

Definitely my kind of woman right there... And the 70 AAR Cuda is one of my favorite muscle cars ever made. Definitely my favorite small block muscle car along with the 70 Dodge Challenger T/A. Love the Mopar 340 engine...especially with 3 deuces. Awesome car👍👍

My first car was a 1971 Plymouth 383 Road Runner that was the same color, but I traded it in for a 1973 Plymouth 340 'cuda but god I miss those cars!

When my sister was 17 and a senior in high school in 1976, she had a Cuda. She was the prissy blonde cheerleader type and was also the flag girl at the local racetrack. However, she just didn't look like the sort to own such a car. I remember the car was a pain to start, but it was a monster. Of course, we all worked very early in life, so if we wanted something, we bought it with our own money. My father wasn't happy about her investing in the car, but again, she earned the money, so he begrudgingly gave in.

I never owned an AAR but I drove and raced my friends quite a bit in 1972 , it was a yellow 4 speed & the fiber glass hood had the same bow as yours .

Lol look at all of Lou's videos. He has a thing for green cars. I give him a hard time every time I see another green car on his videos.
My two favorite muscle cars are the 71 Hemi Cuda and 70 AAR, and that is a beautiful machine. My third Mopar was a 68 Charger RT, with built 440 and added six pack and was triple green with the same pukey color of interior. It was also a 4speed car with 410 Dana 60, and that baby could fly. When you punched it and the secondarys has opened up on those Hollies, it sounded like a turbo flush toilet, and would suck a 1/4 tank every run down the 1320 lol. Anyway, good job Lou and heard that Carlisle's was record-setting this year. I've been wanting to go it for a long time, but live on the west coast and don't get out that way much

@@loucostabile I have cornered a few of the owners when I videoed thier car. The interviews just make it so much more interesting. Some of them are camera shy. And Ive had a few that were potty mouth LOL. Not gonna put that on my channel. But the cars themselves are always very well behaved and almost never cuss. ;-)

My uncle had a burnt orange aar. A few modifications and it was hell to beat in the 1/4 mile. Surprised a lot of 440’s and hemis. The guy who had it before him got a ticket down south for 154mph and that was in the 70’s
Hi Oh Boy, Your Uncle received a ticket for 154 MPH! OH BOY! :-) Lou
Lou Costabile it was actually his best friend. My uncle bought the car from him shortly after because his dad had to drive to Georgia to get him out of jail and pay the ticket. I believe when it was all said and done, it cost him a little over $700 not including the loss of the car when he sold it. Had he not been under a quarter tank of gas, he would have just out ran the cops.
Very nice Lady. My favorite Muscle car is the Cuda had the chance to buy a Hemi Cuda in the early 80's for 12k but for a teenager that was a little too much lol

JERSEY GIRL, this comes as no surprise. As we get oler like a fine wine, does in a oak barrel, our toyes become the focus. They haven't really changed, they just get more expensive.
