I would love see a more earthy witchy vibe on your mantle. More "witches lair in the woods" feel with potion jars and dark moss with critters and such. Also a more psychic witchy vibe would be cool too, using the more fortuneteller pieces you have and ouiji board... I wish you had a large vintage ceramic witch hat to sit front and center, not orange and black and no books .... Jade you need to get on designing your own wichy line of decor for halloween and all year round !

When my son gets home from school (1st grader), we're going to make both apple cookies and pumpkin cookies with cream cheese frosting. A little fall baking with my little man! Then we'll make sheet pan nachos for dinner. Not fall at all but so very yummy! Then if we have time we'll decorate for Halloween. Seems like the perfect activity while the house smells like pumpkin cookies! Edit: The apple cider scent and the pumpkin spice scents from Mrs. Meyer's are my current favs!

My sister's and I have a tradition of decorating my house on September 1st each year! It's something we started with our mom and have kept on with the tradition. We decide on a new theme at the end of each halloween season so we can have the entire year to build a collection of decorations for the next year! This year is vintage woods witch and it turned out amazing! Can't wait to see your house all decorated up! We LOVE watching your videos and are always excited when we see you post something new!
How about putting all your spooky houses on the mantle with the Headless Horseman? Sort of like the Sleepy Hollow village. Add some trees and jack o'lanterns too. It's so fun going through decorations that bring back memories. I still have Halloween decor from Joanns from the 80s and a Halloween Happy Meal bucket from McDonald's that I put a floral arrangement in.

Lol. Money is sooo tight. Made some things though. My kitchen has an old fireplace with a wood beam mantel. It's perfect for a witches potion look with herbal apothecary. I am lucky to have a ginormous cauldron in my front yard that I'm setting ad a display too. Fun but a bit wicked and spooky. By the by...My little "toy" poodle, Zoey, that was my emotional support friend passed away on the 9th. She really helped with my depression. I will miss her enormously as she was one of a kind type of relationship. It was nice to see your cutie though. Your show pulled me into a world that is fun and kind and I really value it. This was so fun...I literally do the same thing every year when I start unpacking my decor. I unwrap each piece with a dramatic unveiling for my significant other and continue to exclaim on repeat "this is awesome" and "I have awesome stuff" lol. A classic haunted village (using all your spooky houses and ghosts) might be fun. I also have a haunted gallery theme in my hallway every year using mirrors and spooky portraits.
Decorating the mantle can be intimidating! To me, it sets the tone of the whole house. I finally have a mantle after all these years so last year I went for a more organic witch style. Lots of natural materials, mirrors, vintage keys, feathers, spooky artwork, etc. I kind of want to do the same thing this year, but I also want to maybe do a dark circus/vintage circus theme? I don't know! So many options, but it's a lot of fun to play around 🎃🍂🍁

The first themes that came to mind were “creepy critters”, like cats, bats, crows, wolves, snakes, bugs, etc. Similarly a “spooky woods” theme would be fun. You and some other youtubers got me super into Halloween hunting and it’s been so fun and comforting! Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration.

I'm doing a farmers theme with scarecrows and pumpkins and I'm throwing in a few witchy things and a lil cemetery. It's actually coming out pretty cool. I like to make an easy transition into Thanksgiving.
My "mantel" is just a very long shelf in my living room. I am getting married October 2nd and we are having a "til death do us part" wedding theme. Lots of black and dark jewel tones and skulls. I got a bunch of crystals, skulls from at home, and black and gold pumpkins so it is currently decorated with my wedding decor for inspo but I love it so much that I might just add a little bit more horror items to it for halloween. My mom gifted us a snowglobe with a skeleton bride and groom that says till death to us part that has black glitter inside. For halloween I'll take that and our neon sign and replace it with something else. Idk yet. I'm struggling this year too!!
something I do every fall with a select few friends is stone soup. we get together and everyone brings a different ingredient to add to a stew pot over an open fire and we have some good wine and conversation. As the host I always supply the meat and a fresh bread. it's so much fun.
Do like a Victorian Sleepy hollow theme! I think it's similar to the curiosities theme but has the opportunity to add a little bit of orange if you're feeling it :D As for my decorating, I have a specific aesthetic that I don't really stray from, but when I'm hunting I'm mostly thinking about colors. I like to use blacks and maroons and I don't really like orange. The few orange items I have are all disney and I keep those in my bedroom!

Girl I have nightmares about missing Halloween or running out of candy every year.It is my absolute favorite holiday and I give myself anxiety about it not running smoothly every year. But it always turns out great every year gets better! I like looking at all the decorations in store because it can look so much better online then in store especially tombstones. Plus another plus you get to interact with the employees and some of them can be so cool and give you insider tips.

I think you got all of this cool witchy apothecary decorations and it could be a really cool mantle idea, with skulls and spiders and jack-o-lanterns all mixed in!
My idea for the mantle would be like a witches garden/pumpkin patch. It can still be like mostly black with the vines and maybe even the pumpkins or jack-o-lantern themselves..but you can incorporate some of the creepy cool floral stuff and maybe some spiders or other creatures you'd find in a garden in it as well.
I decorate on a whim, and make things go together if that makes sense. I normally go for black, cats, skeleton decor. I’d say my style is more gothic cutesy🖤🥰

Ghoul, watching this as I’m also decorating-hello ADHD and everytime something drops off your mantle, I hold my breath haha! Decorator tip-throw a heavy old blanket down over your tile or a non skid rug it will protect your tile and also buffer anything that drops.

I think a Headless Horseman theme on a mantle would be cool. Especially since the headless horseman figure is all black. Have that be the center piece and have orange Jack-o- Lanterns lit up everywhere around him. Have some hanging above the sides of him too. Idk. I’m picturing the opening to the movie with the Jack-o- lanterns sort of flying in (RHPS style). 🤷🏻♀️
Another option I was thinking of that seems to be a pretty popular theme this year is “vintage” or retro Halloween. Could do the mantle in that as well. I think the spooky graveyard with ghosts is my top choice though.

I did themes this year: witchy kitchen with potions and things, spooky dinner party for dining room, haunted village, and then my mantle is black cats and orange jack-o-lanterns this year and I am obsessed!!! I do something different every year though :)

I made your stuffed mushroom dish one night & my husband LOVED IT. He really likes caramelized onions in dishes. Now we make it every Monday which means no meat once a week. Inspired us to try more vegan recipes and our goal have two meatless dinners a week ☺️

I don’t have a mantle (yay brooklyn apartment) but I treated my windowsill like one and ended up doing an orange & black/pumpkin/actual vintage theme. I love hitting antique stores for tabletop stuff and candles from the 60s through the 90s and using those to fill everything out.
The plack with the golden snake(lay it flat with head peeking out)you can use spooky cupcake holders and place candy corn in them place around the snake 🐍 and the spider bowl(corn nuts or peanuts)[beer nuts]can go on the bar to pull in pops of color and reflect the colors of the canters/bottles
I feel you on seeing things online and thinking omg.. then seeing it at the store and being disappointed. That happens with a lot of things just looking cheaper? I’ve been really impressed with Kirkland this year.. they are a little pricier but everything I’ve gotten from them I’ve been impressed
I have some rooms with different themes. The house is sort of like an open floor plan (it isn't but it has wide openings and open rooms) so the main house is the gothic style but those rooms have different accent color themes, family room has tiny deep orange touches, dining room has purple touches, and living room has red touches. But the bathroom because we always have the door closed is a complete different vibe with it being vintage and touches of classical. And an entry room that we have separated by a door is a witch room Edit: the little vintage cat on the pumpkin and the jack o lantern guts from michaels I have them on the back of my toilet, some of my favorite decorations!
I don't have a mantle (I can't wait for the day I do) but I decorated the top of my oddity cabinet in a Sleepy Hollow theme this year. Most of my decor is vintage Halloween black and orange. I agree with most of the comments. A forest witch theme would be great. Could even do a Sanderson witch museum vibe with those 3 witches, some branchy trees, cloches, moss, candles, books, and potion bottles.
I truly was surprised by the quality of decor at Big Lots! Was not expecting that good of quality. Also was not expecting Michael's to be so affordable!! I got the little black haunted house shelf thing to display all my tarot decks and crystals. LOVE.

21:27 - That one is at Walmart this year, as well I know, since I bought it this afternoon and just went ahead and hung it up. I still gotta clear out my front room and dust everything before I decorate for real. And my theme is hoarder I think... But I’m a bit busy with life and making some stuff. I have plans to construct an improved version of my walkable Zero ghost dog but it’s been pushed back by a faux leather skull purse I’m making. You mentioned awhile back that you were looking for a particular skull purse and I promptly pictured a skull shaped bag (at least, 2-D skull shaped) and was disappointed to see that it was an ordinary handbag embossed with skulls. So I picked up a big thrift shop purse with black and white faux leather and all the hardware I need and I’m upcycling it into the bag I pictured. My T.A.R.D.I.S. backpack purse was driving me nuts anyway... I keep putting it down and finding it somewhere else and I can’t find a thing inside it. Apparently it’s bigger on the inside... I feel a little bad because my friend found it in a thrift shop in Texas and if she was willing to brave a Texas thrift shop for it I really should use it. Maybe to carry extra stuff.

My "mantel" is just a very long shelf in my living room. I am getting married October 2nd and we are having a "til death do us part" wedding theme. Lots of black and dark jewel tones and skulls. I got a bunch of crystals, skulls from at home, and black and gold pumpkins so it is currently decorated with my wedding decor for inspo but I love it so much that I might just add a little bit more horror items to it for halloween. My mom gifted us a snowglobe with a skeleton bride and groom that says till death to us part that has black glitter inside. For halloween I'll take that and our neon sign and replace it with something else. Idk yet. I'm struggling this year too!!
something I do every fall with a select few friends is stone soup. we get together and everyone brings a different ingredient to add to a stew pot over an open fire and we have some good wine and conversation. As the host I always supply the meat and a fresh bread. it's so much fun.
Do like a Victorian Sleepy hollow theme! I think it's similar to the curiosities theme but has the opportunity to add a little bit of orange if you're feeling it :D As for my decorating, I have a specific aesthetic that I don't really stray from, but when I'm hunting I'm mostly thinking about colors. I like to use blacks and maroons and I don't really like orange. The few orange items I have are all disney and I keep those in my bedroom!

I like themes too! This year my dining room is witchy, my entryway is graveyard, my living room is orange and black vintage pieces. Like a cozy eclectic feeling. That’s all I have so far. 🖤 I’d love to see a witchy mantle. My witch collection is by far my biggest. 🖤

Some potential ideas for your mantle: haunted forest, featuring ALL the branchy trees and the Headless Horseman or black creatures like bats, rats, crows, and spiders to keep it all black and white on the mantle.

Girl I have nightmares about missing Halloween or running out of candy every year.It is my absolute favorite holiday and I give myself anxiety about it not running smoothly every year. But it always turns out great every year gets better! I like looking at all the decorations in store because it can look so much better online then in store especially tombstones. Plus another plus you get to interact with the employees and some of them can be so cool and give you insider tips.

I don't have a mantle but I did do a victorian gothy spiritualist/ witchy setup on my TV stand with some purple lights and it looks pretty neat
I think you got all of this cool witchy apothecary decorations and it could be a really cool mantle idea, with skulls and spiders and jack-o-lanterns all mixed in!
My idea for the mantle would be like a witches garden/pumpkin patch. It can still be like mostly black with the vines and maybe even the pumpkins or jack-o-lantern themselves..but you can incorporate some of the creepy cool floral stuff and maybe some spiders or other creatures you'd find in a garden in it as well.
We're decorating on Sept. 22nd, for the first day of fall.

Ghoul, watching this as I’m also decorating-hello ADHD and everytime something drops off your mantle, I hold my breath haha! Decorator tip-throw a heavy old blanket down over your tile or a non skid rug it will protect your tile and also buffer anything that drops.

I think a Headless Horseman theme on a mantle would be cool. Especially since the headless horseman figure is all black. Have that be the center piece and have orange Jack-o- Lanterns lit up everywhere around him. Have some hanging above the sides of him too. Idk. I’m picturing the opening to the movie with the Jack-o- lanterns sort of flying in (RHPS style). 🤷🏻♀️
Another option I was thinking of that seems to be a pretty popular theme this year is “vintage” or retro Halloween. Could do the mantle in that as well. I think the spooky graveyard with ghosts is my top choice though.

I decorated September 1st because I could not contain myself any longer! I did themes this year: witchy kitchen with potions and things, spooky dinner party for dining room, haunted village, and then my mantle is black cats and orange jack-o-lanterns this year and I am obsessed!!! I do something different every year though :)

I made your stuffed mushroom dish one night & my husband LOVED IT. He really likes caramelized onions in dishes. Now we make it every Monday which means no meat once a week. Inspired us to try more vegan recipes and our goal have two meatless dinners a week ☺️

I don’t have a mantle (yay brooklyn apartment) but I treated my windowsill like one and ended up doing an orange & black/pumpkin/actual vintage theme. I love hitting antique stores for tabletop stuff and candles from the 60s through the 90s and using those to fill everything out.
The plack with the golden snake(lay it flat with head peeking out)you can use spooky cupcake holders and place candy corn in them place around the snake 🐍 and the spider bowl(corn nuts or peanuts)[beer nuts]can go on the bar to pull in pops of color and reflect the colors of the canters/bottles

I have some rooms with different themes. The house is sort of like an open floor plan (it isn't but it has wide openings and open rooms) so the main house is the gothic style but those rooms have different accent color themes, family room has tiny deep orange touches, dining room has purple touches, and living room has red touches. But the bathroom because we always have the door closed is a complete different vibe with it being vintage and touches of classical. And an entry room that we have separated by a door is a witch room
Edit: the little vintage cat on the pumpkin and the jack o lantern guts from michaels I have them on the back of my toilet, some of my favorite decorations!

I don't have a mantle (I can't wait for the day I do) but I decorated the top of my oddity cabinet in a Sleepy Hollow theme this year. Most of my decor is vintage Halloween black and orange. I agree with most of the comments. A forest witch theme would be great. Could even do a Sanderson witch museum vibe with those 3 witches, some branchy trees, cloches, moss, candles, books, and potion bottles.

But I’m a bit busy with life and making some stuff. I have plans to construct an improved version of my walkable Zero ghost dog but it’s been pushed back by a faux leather skull purse I’m making. You mentioned awhile back that you were looking for a particular skull purse and I promptly pictured a skull shaped bag (at least, 2-D skull shaped) and was disappointed to see that it was an ordinary handbag embossed with skulls. So I picked up a big thrift shop purse with black and white faux leather and all the hardware I need and I’m upcycling it into the bag I pictured.
My T.A.R.D.I.S. backpack purse was driving me nuts anyway... I keep putting it down and finding it somewhere else and I can’t find a thing inside it. Apparently it’s bigger on the inside... I feel a little bad because my friend found it in a thrift shop in Texas and if she was willing to brave a Texas thrift shop for it I really should use it. Maybe to carry extra stuff.
