Man, this is just... I know its been probably said a million times before by millions of people, but this show was a huge part of my childhood and shaped so much of my life. Your performance here legit brought tears to my eyes. That might sound cringey/excessive, but it's true. You've done a phenomenal job with these covers and I can't wait to hear more.
Thomas is a tank engine who lives in a big station on the island of Sodor, he's a cheeky little engine with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler, and a short stumpy dome - George Carlin/Ringo Starr
He could slurp up an alphabet soup and spit out the vowels and consonants separately. He could speak 7 langauges but unfortunately was disliked in all those countries
Good to see you back Luke. What a lovely tribute to Michael Angelis. He was an important part of countless childhoods. He had a hand in your growing up and making music, so imagine the impact he’s had on the lives of so many. Glad you’re well.
Thanks for sticking around Cody! Things are a lot calmer here now. Yes he really is, it's a shame we lost him so young but glad he will live on forever in this series :)
This makes me think of every time classic Thomas is happy and even then, he's a pretty happy little engine. I know he got angry sometimes and cried twice in the first season. I pretend he had unshed tears in his eyes when the passengers "saw how sad he was" when he forgot his train because some claim he was in tears over that, but the times he actually cried were stuck in the snow and in Down The Mine. But just from my show based Thomas books, I can see he had many smiles as well.
Thomas the Tank Engine is very proud of his branch line. He thinks it is the most important part of the whole railway. His two coaches Annie and Clarabel agree with him.🚂🚃🚃
There is a reason I fell in love with Thomas the tank engine because memories of him remind me of the wonderful good times I had with him and the stories were very wonderful to listen, enjoy, & hear all the time. Luke, you are a wonderful lad, thanks especially for Thomas’ theme.❤️💙😊🇺🇸💙💙💙💙
I've been watching your Thomas covers since I stumbled upon your cover of Edward's theme; all I can say is they are spectacular. I love the instrumentation and arrangement of all your themes... faithful to the original show but has their own style to it. Keep it up!!
Ah happy to hear! It had been a passion project I had wanted to do for awhile but didn't know if anyone would be interested in it. Glad to see people seem to enjoy them ^_^
This is perfect. I think if you made this into The Adventure Begins style the way it was recomposed, I think it would've sounded so much better, since TAB has a lot of new versions of the old themes, as well as mashups of old themes
Who’s crying, I’m not crying In all seriousness I love this so much it really makes me want me to go back, so thank you for making recreating my childhood
this theme means a lot to me ik im not comenting in 2020 and i am in 2022 but this is just brings warmness to my heart when i hear this, playing the flute nailed that your flute playing is just buetiful
I've just watched all at sea ( Michaels Angeles version ) and I'm so sorry I couldn't see him in reel life, even tho I didn't watch English t&f in my childhood, but I'm very sorry for the man, rest in peace Michael, and good cover of a good song
Great work with the branchline theme, your flute abilities are remarkable. Also, I learned how to play the Branchline theme by ear. I understand that it's hard for just one instrument but with all of the instruments you use, it's really astounding.
Thank you very much! Yeah sadly I can't find any scores for this stuff so I'm deconstructing all these themes by ear. But the flip side is I'm getting faster at transcribing by ear now 😂
@@InstrumentManiac well I’d say you’ve definitely achieved your goal in my opinion. Really looking forward to seeing more and I think your other videos are great too! Thanks again 😊
Cool i love thomas the tank engine he is my number 1 engine and he got his own branch line call thomas' branch line man this is totally awesome and also very cool man not too bad after all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I think if a person was happy as Thomas when he got his branch line, that person would cry tears of joy. So, in my fanfics, he does that on arrival at his branch line. Currently, I got a fic in which a little girl who loves TTTE has a dream in which she goes to Sodor and sees Thomas arrive at his branch line in tears of joy. In another of my fics, Their Own Words, I have yet to tell that story, but I'll include when I get there. Tears of joy come "when you're happier than you've ever been" and I believe since engines on Sodor can be miserable and in tears, they can shed tears of joy when "happy as can be", like branch line Thomas.
Thomas the tank engine is a really useful engine that sir Topham Hatt rewarded Thomas his very own branch line since he rescued James from a serious accident

You said it for all of us
Exactly the same I started listening to these themes again when I was 14 during a difficult time in school
@@InstrumentManiac how do I go about downloading the theme for the video?

He's a fussy little engine, too; always pushing coaches about for the big engines to take on long journeys.
First line of the TV series, great one
Sand block was a perfect choice for that Trainy sound 🚂
Seriously!! They used sand blocks in like every theme from the series 😂
@@InstrumentManiac fun fact, the chuffing is actually the Linndrum cabasa! They pitched it down quite a bit to get that chuffing sound :P
whhhaaaaa!? So rad. Thanks for the cool fact!!
G g g get your bad pun outta heeeerea
It's called puffing
This makes me think of the score from those old 80's/90's BBC adaptations of the Narnia books. Love it!

Angelis will always be missed. I've got a VHS that was of his narration of Series 7. I'll definitely cherish that VHS even more then I ever have.
He will be
Such talent. My brother was obsessed with this show as a child, so naturally I watched as well.
The sand block with the piccolo and flute at the start always gets me amped up for this theme
You nailed it. Even without the Jupiter synths, your arrangement still fits right in with Series 1.
Ahh thank you!! I wanted to try to translate that Jupiter *magic* into real instruments. But nothing stands up to those incredible synth textures
Of course it does. It’s more period accurate, considering Season 1 takes place between the 1920s and 1950s.

I loved the sound from the double bass at this part 0:42
It’s actually know as Thomas’ branchline theme
Yea
Really
Thomas will always be the best anime protagonist
I agree.
The way it all glides along and sounds reminiscent of British country-like music to me is beautiful.
I think it's greatly charming!
