Very well put, this is an absolutely impressive aspect of his playing! Was a good challenge to break down and teach some of the inner workings of his guitar brilliance.
@@MTGuitar I’ve been listening to Neil Young 50 years now, about to turn 62 when I started listening to him since I was a kid in the early 70’s. Neil has had so many amazing songs over the years… has always been one of my favorites! Thank you Mitch, I showed your lesson here to Peggy who’s a huge Neil Young fan as well, she said that you are an amazing guitarist! Take care Mitch, touch base with you soon!
Awesome video man! As a semi-beginner, this is really helpful because of all the little intricacies of the notes and hammer ons. Gonna be difficult getting the rhythm down, but at least I can practice now, thanks!
Thank you so much for this lesson and all the lessons you have posted before! You're lessons and layout are clean and organized like no other and I always learn the best with your lessons. Thanks for another amazing one MT
Love this version, seems like you have been playing this song for a long time. Neil Young and CSN are my all time faves in the genre and Old Man was one of the first songs l learned when l started playing(may even have been the impetus for me wanting to learn to play). I have created my own Frankenstein version of Old Man from the combined teachings of many YT teachers with a bit of live Neil @Massey Hall thrown in, but now l think l need to add some James Taylor banjo licks to complete my monster. Thanks a bunch!💐🐶🙏🏻❤️
Fascinating to hear this song was so important in your early playing, love it! Glad the banjo licks can add a little flavor to your well seasoned dish! Enjoy :)
Thank you for posting more Neil Young! I love his style and rhythm. And that is an absolutely, stunningly beautiful Martin! Is that the 000-15M StreetMaster?
I love how Neil Young takes the pic and hits single notes while strumming without his hand stopping, really so good at isolating notes!😮

My guy hitting those high notes!! You're so enjoyable in your videos. Thank you my friend for the tutorial. Blessings.

YES ! One of my favorite songs of Neil ! What a great song Mitch ! So beautiful!
Thanks bro!
funny thing about that video of Neil, he's really stoned, cracks me up every time I see it.

Great lesson as always. Especially the chord melody. This is what sets you apart from all the rest.
Agree Sam… Mitch is pro level with his Guitar playing!
Thanks a bunch Sam!
And thanks Doug!
@@MTGuitar Thank you Mitch, thanks for all you do for everyone when it comes to your teaching!
Holy shit this saved my Saturday ❤
I am a huge fan. would love to see you do some of Neil's not quite so famous songs. Maybe Ambulance Blues?

Beautiful Song… Awesome Guitarist! Really sounds great Mitch! How Have you been? Doug from Denver.
Totally agree Doug! Thank you so much! I’ve been well, good to hear from you.
So nice. Too bad I can’t sing 🫤
C'mon , George Harrison thought Neil Young couldn't sing either😂😂. He did it anyway. So many others love it.
