    THANK YOU THANK YOU! I am right about to take off with this Lufthansa A320 in Frankfurt to Buenos Aires, Don´t know what to do, I got this job as pilot lying in my CV. I asked ChatGPT "How fly big plane" and no clue. My mother knows about everything but has no clue either. My checklist so far is: 1) Check that the doors are closed 2) Check that there is nobody in front of me 3) Check that there is food because it is a 14 hours flight. 4) Check in Google Maps where is Buenos Aires, in which direction, left or right or what I am a believer of learning by doing.

    As someone who just bought the Toliss A340, and I'm only used to the XFMC for Boeing aircraft, you have no idea how much I needed this tutorial. THANK YOU. Simple and clear for an amateur like me!

    This is an excellent tutorial, especially for someone like me who is relatively new in flying the A320 sim. I made the mistake of trying to dive into the A32NX mod, and was quickly overwhelmed by the massive amount of procedures and knowledge required. My plan is to first get up to speed with the stock A320neo sim, gradually taking over more and more functions before moving on to the A32NX mod. Entering the flight plan by hand is a great way to learn the basics.

    Many many thanks. I have avoided fms until now as my emphasis has been to become a pilot. However there are two more steps -1. to programme fmc,s with the SID/WAYPOINTS /STAR, then having mastered the skills needed, to go to 2. the ATC experience (which still slightly terrifies me). Fortunately you have created all the tutorials I need on my path of discovery, and I will go through these in order until,I can master the full art of being a pilot. AGAIN - MANY THANKS.

      As a Boeing man (747-200, 400 and 737-800), I was fortunate enough to get a session in the A320 sim. It’s a different type of flying, but the whole fly-by-wire and dark cockpit concept was good and quite intuitive. Until we got to the MCDU... Boeing system definitely better laid out and easier to work with.

    Good teacher! You should add a MTO map on EIFIS and explain how to avoid storms without deconnecting FMS as it was made by AF 447 pilots who were badly teached ! The F.M.S protect the aircraft inside a "flight envelope" in order to avoid stall on high altitude.I tell you that because I programmed FMS at AIRBUS in 1982 and I am involved in aeronautical security and ENAC alumni.

    what is the difference between

    You should mention which are the criteria’s behind a specific mcdu runway and star choice, same speech for transitions if required. Reality vs simulation may involve ATC vs simulated ATC or arbitrary choice based upon own criteria.
    Another difference between Boeing and Airbus fmc is the usage of arrows which acts like a “ touch screen “ direction on the bus while the act “ normally “ on the Boeing fmc.

    • @Q8Pilot
      @Q8Pilot  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Fosseth Runway and sid are provided by ATC based on wind direction and airway for destination.

    • @markfosseth8047
      @markfosseth8047 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Q8Pilot yep in the reality but within a sim ? A beginner should learn it in a dedicated tutorial imho

    • @Q8Pilot
      @Q8Pilot  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Fosseth In the sim just follow what the flight plan tells you =)

    • @markfosseth8047
      @markfosseth8047 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Q8Pilot .....assuming a beginner knows how to fill a flight plan into the mcdu, this leads back to my first comment but you are too much expert to consider noobs, too much elitarist for me, even if I know how to fill a flight plan into the bus mcdu.
      I believe this tutorial is more for your ego than for supposed learners, anyway no problem.
