Getting ready to buy items for my first travel album (usually just document in my PL album). Debating on sizes so I’ve been searching TH-cam for videos and came across yours. Wow! Your album convinced me that 3x8 is a perfect size. Love your pages, your photo strip ideas, the simple way of documenting your travels but still with style. Thank you!
My ex husband and I were visiting Estes Park the 18-22nd of 2017 and had to drive through the blizzard on our way from the airport to our cabin in Estes Park. We also visited Rocky Mtn National Park (the part that was accessible that weekend). It sure was a unique experience with a blizzard in late May!
I love this so much, Steph! So many interactive bits and so many lovely photos of you and your husband. Thanks for sharing this and for giving me so much 3x8 inspiration.
I live on the east side of the Denver metro and love it here. I used to live in Kansas and dreamed of moving to Colorado since I was a kid and five plus years ago the opportunity presented itself and here I am but I sure remember all the "roadside" places from all the road trips over the last 20 years for Broncos games...there are a lot of unique places along the highways of this country. I am a geocacher and love finding cool places for geological stuff as well...I loved watching your video. I never take these places for granted. I stare in awe at where I live every day.
You've made yourself a work of art! Thanks so much for sharing it with us! I love the format and the creative things you did with it - I'm going to look into that size album right now! I was chuckling a bit when you described the weather in the park since I live in Colorado and sometimes people don't believe us when we say it can be sunshine one minute and snow the next. Thanks for validating our weather - LOL!
Thank you so much Nancy! I appreciate your taking the time to watch my video and your kind words! I am happy to share it with you. Yeah, the weather definitely took us for a surprise, and we have traveled to and through Colorado quite a bit prior to this trip! It was such a fun aspect of our trip. I LOVE this form factor for a travel album, I also did my December Daily project as a 3x8 last year and that was fun also. Thanks again!
I love this! My husband & I have been traveling throughout the country the past year & I have been wanting to put together something to document that! Thanks for the inspiration
I love this!!! Not only is your album awesome but I love the things you do on your road trip. We are driving to CO for the third time later this year and I want to download that app to find fun things on the way!
Hi, love the idea, I have just started using Traveler notebook for my travels, you briefly mentioned an app you use, please can you explain this a bit more, as this would definitely help my travels?
Sammie Sayz Yes! It’s available for iPhone, Mac, and iPad (as far as I know) and it’s called Day One. It’s just a journaling app, but I use it to be able to go in and jot notes, write lengthier entries and time, date, and location stamp all that information. It’s great for the type of travel we prefer, which is driving cross country so we are always on the move and hitting lots of different places. I also add photos in with my words sort of as a place marker (there’s a limit to how many photos you can add per entry). Hope that helps!!
Love how you created your album! Can you share what you used to take your photos? We are headed to Colorado for the first time and I would love to use my iPhone to take pictures but worried about the quality. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I only use my iPhone to take photos, so you're in luck! I've been able to print those photos at 12x12 size with great results, so you should be good to go! Especially if you have a newer model of iPhone. Have a great trip! CO is one of our favorite places!
@@createdbysteph We had such an amazing time and I ended up using my iPhone and downloaded the app you mentioned and now I don't know how to make that little printable you made of your trip, help. Thank you so much for sharing the app. It made journaling so much easier and I love how it documents everything for you.
@@scmarih I've done some looking around in Day One and if you scroll all the way to the bottom of an entry, you will get the map & data pieces I shared in those cards from my CO album. However, it looks like the more recent version of Day One doesn't show the info quite as tidy as the old one did. Now mine shows (in this order)... 1 - map 2- Name of Location / coordinates 3- Add related media 4- Tags 5- Journal 6- Date and time 7- Last edited 8- Weather 9- Altitude etc. So all the same information is there, but it's definitely not organized in as nice a way to be able to screenshot a "Card" of it, which is definitely a bummer. However, I just noticed that some of the data is there at the top of the map, it's very small, but you could do a screenshot of it and crop down to include the map, the location name (next to the geotag) and that little bit of info at the top.
I print at home on an Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer. For my 3x8 photos, I usually crop my photos to that size in Photoshop and then combine a few on an 8.5x11 sheet and print multiples on one sheet. Hope that helps!
I just discovered your album and absolutely love it!I I'm curious about a few things if you wouldn't mind answering my questions. Did you only use your computer to generate your journaling or did you also use a typewriter for some of it? (I was curious when I saw like the tag and such.) Also, the fold out pocket page of the two full size (6x8) photos at the actual concert - was that two 3x8 pockets connected together somehow or is there a fold out pocket page available like that already? Also, could you give me tips on how you print your full size 3x8 photos? Do you take your photo a specific way for those ahead of time or did you use a layered template or how did you do it? I"m a bit new to this whole thing. This was fabulous and now I'm going to look for more of your work. Thanks for sharing!

Love that you included so many pics of you and your husband - so often overlooked! All the "flip" pockets/cards are great inspiration.
Great album..love it !!!

dneilgale Thank you so much! Yeah, I am stoked for December Daily and using 3x8...we will see how it goes!
Not sure if you've seen, but I just added 2 videos of my 3x8 December Daily Foundation Pages if you're still interested! More to come soon!
Steph this album is wonderful! I feel like I went along with you! LOL!
Thank you so much Elena! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing. We did a weekend in RMNP in November of 2017. Did some similar things. It was fun to see what you did & how you documented it.
Wow! This is so amazing! I know its late but off to HSN to see if the travel kit is still available. Thank you for the inspiration!!! 🌸
Thanks so much Debi for checking out my video! I am glad it inspired you!
Great album! I haven't seriously considered a 3x8 but this is inspiring!
I love this album, thank you so much for the inspiration
This is wonderful.
Lovely!
So fun! We love Omaha! If you ever do this again (or similar) you should come to Lawrence, KS. It's got the coolest vibe and is right off I-70. :) XO
Thanks for the tip!
Only 2.5 days?! Wow!

The little cards are created by Day One? The cards with the weather and other info with gio tags.
Yes, Elena! The cards are a screenshot from the Day One app on my phone.

What is the app that you use for the days. Thank you
Hi Debbie! It's an app on the iPhone called Day One. It's a journaling app, then I just took screenshots from there of the stats I included.
