Christmas eve 1985 in snowy Norway: My father in his 50s liked this song so much that he grabbed my mother and started dancing like crazy- clearing the christmasdecorations. He still likes this song aged 85. Good memories!

The stunningly beautiful and amazingly talented female vocalist Basia (pronounced Basha) has a completely unique voice, I came upon her supporting Billy Ocean in 1986 (my first gig) and she was spellbinding, I still play her Time and Tide CD regularly, go find it, she is amazing

At the youth hostel in Madrid this was played very loudly downstairs every morning and the music spread to all floors through the atrium. Lovely feeling. Went back there several times. 89 90 92. The music brings back the feeling of a fantastic day coming.

Reminds me of my time as a young professional in Vienna, 80's, Swingout sister, Everything but the Girl, Sade, etc. the nice inexpensive relaxed bars and restaurants in what used to be the Jewish Quarter, what a glorious, funny, relaxed, non agressive time...glorious memories, good friends, good drinks, good food, and none of the seemingly neverending catastrophes we are confronted with when you turn on the news = war, depression, unemployment, economic downturn etc etc...what a sh.. time we are living in...

Great memories. My teen years when this came out. Had a lot of fun dancing to that. Yes, today the synths might sound a bit cheezy but they came a long way since then. It's not (completely) about the instruments, it's about the composition. And this was fun, easy going music. Nothing complex, but still absolutely great.
Just found my old 45 of this but no record player so came here. A shining light in the musical mediocrity of the 80s. So different from the norm and one of the few songs I liked from the period.
