Just sold my 6500k D4 XPL on ebay - It's just not drug experience enough for me! Still got a 5000K D4 for a keychain light lol. I ordered a spare D4V2 tailcap to use the lanyard attachment hole.

Love the the D4V2! One of my very favorites. I also have a D4S with the exact same color changing LEDs. (All 16 of them) Hank modified it for me also with Anduril. Hank is a great guy!
If you happen to see this I would love your thoughts. I’m trying to decide between the d4v2 and the new d3aa for a pocketable edc. Is the d4v2 outdated in anyway 4 years later? Clearly there was some kind of U.F.O. flying over the houses! Looked very real too! Looked like a classic disc shaped U.F.O. Must be CGI, added for effect. Notice he never payed any attention to it, either time it flew over.
Which Tint/Led option is the best? Preferably something not to yellow and more om the cool white spectrum. And whats the difference between 1a and 3a version
1A is 6500K, 3A is 5000K and 219B 5000k will destroy both tint wise but isn't as powerful and gets hotter quicker. SST20 4000K are nice but a bit warm imo for outdoor use, grey paths look a bit beige.

I used mine daily for the last 2 months for work and am amazed at the versatility of this light for both indoor and outdoor use. Though I prefer to use a D18 while using a light outdoors. The switch Hank installs is flawless when turning the light off and on including the control of the light output. What I really enjoy are the flashy modes and helped to drive off a mean looking coyote at zero dark hours. In a city nonetheless but that’s another topic altogether lol.
@@MrFSTQ Depends on the battery type. I prefer the Sony/Murata VTC6 battery and lasts me nearly a whole week of 1-2 hours good use daily before recharging while the same batteries only give me 2 days use in the D18.
Is this flashlight picky with batteries? I just got this light and it only works with 2 out of the 3 samsung 30q batteries I got. Same for the D18, for some reason it only works with some batteries even though they are all the same. Any of you know why?
So Turbo steps down instantly? A bit pathetic to advertise the flashlight with the big Turbo lumen number, when you can use it for barely 10 seconds. I want to buy this light, but the price to performance ratio is holding me back.
@@KaddamanMan You can program it to limit the output or just ramp to max instead of turbo, its just nice being able to light a huge area should you need to or show off to friends. Even after 10 seconds the output is still eye watering.

Cool looking light but I'd never buy something with so many modes and features for EDC use. Current carry is a surefire G2X tac and upgrading to a Cloud Defensive Rein as soon as they become available
Too complicated to last. imo , the more chips and crap they throw into something like this where 5 , 10 , 15 amps are being controlled by some dinky shit 39¢ processor (oooh beg ma pardon) the quicker its going to fail. I'm not saying it can't be done long term reliably if you use premium components. But that generally tends to make it alot more expensive. Just my oppinion , your milleage may vary... Just not a fan of this click 15 times crap xD
Hey - it's a great light - I gave a bunch of friends that camp a lot several of them. Great emergency fire starter. ⸮ Oh wait, except it might start a fire on its own by turning itself on randomly (in the "safe" "muggle mode" no less, lol). Shitty, over-complicated "programming" where useless "features" trump careful coding and testing. You get what you pay for...

I've got a couple other anduril flashlights and I really like that UI and hoping I get a few years out of them. I own an original Maglite 3d led with the Luxeon Rebel led which is 10 years old now and its got a better quality switch than the new mags. It's 1 mode only, natural voltage from the 3 d cells and no circuit board. I intend to keep that for ever as my turtle and lasts 150 hours of very usable light on a set of batteries. I also bought recently a Bright Star Razor to have a smaller 1 mode that is Intrinsic work safe and has a great switch. The razor is one of the best flashlights I've had for hand grip, ergonomics, weight, balance, and impact becuase its made of nylon and the body was designed with that in mind. My dooms day flashlights for sure!

Get both. The D4V2 is better to have in your pocket all the time but the beam on the D4SV2 is perfection.

You can reprogram it to hold a higher temperature but it will get seriously hot.
