WOW! Thanks for the tips on the lighter digitals, easy to understand. I had a Brother Scan n Cut without to auto blade, but sold it because I keep cutting through my mats. I have had an SDX for about 2 years and love it! You have solved my main problem with your tutorial, thxs again! Best Wishes from Cindy in Nova Scotia.

I wish I would have got this model...it came out right after I bought mine. I took mine out and made my first cut and it cut my mat. I sat there and cried after spending so much money on myself. I put it back in the box and have never touched it again. I bought everything for it and even the big mat and it is just sitting there like a thorn in my side. I want to try it again, but I was so sick over it. I'm so glad they came out with a better model for everyone else. I wouldn't want anyone else to feel that pain. Glad i found your site and your sweet voice makes me want to try it again. Thank you for sharing.
Oh I am so sorry to read this Judy. I would have had the same reaction if that had happened to me. My friend Ashley from Applelover53 has many videos on her channel using the machine including the older model so I am sure she will have one showing how to set the correct blade depth. You can also use a different part of the mat so may be able to avoid the section that is cut through. I would certainly try and mend it using tape on the back of the mat to hold it together. I remember getting really frustrated with the cricut I got many years ago, ruined loads of card with it and it never quite did what I wanted it to do, that is in a cupboard, been there years totally neglected.
@@NigezzaCreates I will check her out. My daughter got a new cricut and she does not even have to use a mat, it is like night and day in how fast hers is to use. I just like the idea of being able to scan items, since I love to draw my own designs.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, you made it simple and easy to understand. I got a scanncut 1 1/2 years ago and initially tried to use it but was so intimidated by all the "cautions" and afraid of breaking something that I stopped. I only wanted the machine for exactly what you show and so thanks again!

So glad I came across this. I have been thinking of getting one of these because of my hands and pain. I use loads of fussy cuts and think I should go for it. I had heard there is a huge learning curve and have been scared. But you make it look easy. I am scared but think I will go for it. As I am biting my nails!!! lol ❤
It's not perfect but once you learn that it needs a clear edge and you donlt mind drawing the odd outline in pencil it's good. Defo better than using scissor and suffering the pain :-)
Thanks for your very informative video Gez, I will be considering this machine, when I upgrade to an electric die cutter. Like you I have an auto immune disease & when my hands are effected, I can’t do the fiddly things either. I look forward to the next video in this series 😍
You are very welcome Jane, I got an electric die cutter for my birthday this year, a Sizzix Switch, we need all the help we can get because not being able to craft is unthinkable.

Yes it does, I haven't played with this function much, just the once with the first project that you make when you get the machine. It was a gift box and it cut and scored the fold lines :-)
Mine is the older version so I don't have the auto blade. Is there a setting on your machine for kiss cutting for stickers?
I have never cut stickers but I ma sure it will, kiss cutting, is that cutting with a margin around the image? Yes it does that I just prefer to cut to the edge of the image.
@@NigezzaCreates No, kiss cutting is cutting through the top layer of the sticker paper but not through the backing paper. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Helen I have the scan n cut CM 900 and it will kiss cut on depth of 1 or 2 on sticker paper
