    Blessed are the poor in materially (homeless and penniless) but rich in spiritually (generous)

    I didn’t agree when he said that it’s a happiness you can enjoy EVEN IF you are poor in spirit. No, it is a happiness ONLY if you are poor in spirit. The key is total humility before God recognizing we are spiritually bankrupt without Him. This is the only way

    There is nothing in this statement that indicates that in order to inherit the kingdom of heaven, one must depend on someone or something else to inherit peace. I have nothing, I am nothing. Having is a need, ego is an illusion. When one lets go of attachments, desires and the illusion of self, indeed, one inherits the kingdom of heaven. Here. In the now.

    Replace the word humble for poor and it becomes easier to understand. God opposes the proud.

    Why do people try to circumvent the meaning of the words in scripture? Another book, illustrating the same verses actually said, "Blessed are the poor". Why do we find it difficult to accept that it is what it is. "Blessed are the POOR". The speaker here even said that the original word meant, "beggar on the street". When is the world going to REALLY WAKE up to what the scriptures are saying?

    • @JesusBelieverDiane
      @JesusBelieverDiane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Many words in the Bible are given true meaning in the context. Jesus used many parables to teach and were not to be taken literally. Such as that we are to be the salt of the earth. So here the word poor, in the context of the spirit we are to be spiritually bankrupt of ourselves. Poor in spirit which is another way of saying we must humble ourselves and recognize our total dependence on Him.

    Everyone should give away ALL their MONEY, and be penniless and Live just like Jesus...... Only then can we enter the Kingdom of God.

    • @heather1955
      @heather1955 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you so much people need to take what Jesus said seriously if they ever want to call themselves a christian we must give ALL are money, and possessions, to the poor and live just like Jesus. Like how this verse says Luke14:33 whoever does not forsake all that he owns cannot be my disciple/christian.

      @@drnowads Well I didn't learn this by myself. Heres where I learned about the teachings of Jesus and what it means to be a real christian. Id love to hear what you think of the video, if your not to busy. th-cam.com/video/tAyF0TD-Xec/w-d-xo.html

    • @drnowads
      @drnowads 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@heather1955 I think that it would really help if I show you a series of videos taken from the original Hebrew Aramaic so that we can understand things better. As far as "forsaking everything", the bible and all the other inspired books, have always been encouraging people to have a change of heart and detach from this world. Imagine if the dominant political ideas were almost the same as what the disciples did after The Master ascended? Wouldn't this confused world be a lot better? Sometimes I lounge in despair at how a great majority cannot (or choose not to) understand what is written in The Word. You can shoot me an email in case you need to discuss on Hangouts. Shalom!

      You evidently jumped ship when you tried to understand the scripture, you have to be willing to lose everything and have zero attachments to anything physical, maybe if you do then you should give it all away!

  • @buisyman

    It means those who are poor are spiritually blessed.
    That's it. Nothing much else there.

    • @JesusBelieverDiane
      @JesusBelieverDiane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Then He would have just said “blessed are the poor.” But He didn’t. This is not the kind of poor you are referring to. He said “blessed are the poor IN spirit.”

    • @buisyman
      @buisyman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JesusBelieverDiane I think your interpretation is not well thought out. I could be wrong, but I think you're not thinking it through all the way. If Jesus had simply said "blessed are the poor", that encompasses the entire spectrum. "Blessed are the poor in spirit" puts limits on the blessing. It has to do, I think, with the way the old King James speak is laid out. Most people simply don't understand it. Try reading it in several different translations.

    It should say be humbly desperate before God's Spirit. But none should be Poor in Spirit. What a perverse blasphemous way of stating this knowledge. Poor in spirit is anti-truth to a serious knowledge!

    Poor in spirit is a direct language you dont have to find what is means...its clear and stop leading us astray...Your mission has been accomplished only for a while...atleast people are becoming awakened. AFRICANS our eyes are opening now...We will go back to our traditional way of worshipping Our God. The Bible has run its course. The purest way is AFRICANS SPIRITUALITY. And AFRICANS will rein again.

      Wrong the Bible says we are all sinners. All of us have sinned and are worthy of death. If you're not a sinner why do you need Christ at all?
