Your observation is very on point: Jollibee spaghetti is for kids. Here in the Philippines, spaghetti is cooked sweet for children to eat because it is a staple food at birthday parties. Jollibee just adapted it for their menu because they targeted kids in their marketing; even McDonald's here in the Philippines has spaghetti for the same reason. That is why most Filipinos will tell you that Jollibee is part of their childhood memories because of the spaghetti. In my opinion, Jollibee wouldn't be this big without its spaghetti.
Sweet Spaghetti is exactly for Filipino kids. Filipino kids love sweet spaghetti.

The key ingredient to the spagetti is the banana ketchup Maria orosa was a chemist and scientist who with her invention like banana ketchup saved alot of lives in ww2 both American and filipino lives .that's why it's sweet also bc its made from banana . She made powdered food to smuggle into the pow camps to save the lives of american and filipino pows . Her hospital was bombed she could have fleed bc they were told in advance to evacuate the area but she chose to stay and work she died a hero
the jollibee spaghetti is a staple food to all filipinos, no filipino who has lived in the philippines for at least 10 y/o of their life specially as a kid would not know or have tasted it. It brings us nostalgia of our childhood, and its very iconic to all filipinos. I think the reason why they still put it in the menu of the american branches is because there are a lot of filipinos in america who wants it, and also to introduce to the american market the flavor of spaghetti the filipinos grew up with.
FUN FACT: here in the philippines even MC DONALDS, KFC AND POPEYES sell spaghetti :). it's because fried chicken and spaghetti are often paired in parties. staple party foods in a filipino house hold are fried chicken, lumpia, spaghetti and pancit.
originally, Jolly spaghetti is really marketed for kids because spaghetti is like a staple in every children's party in the Philippines. turned out the adults loved it, too...
Kids in the Philippines loves spaghetti that's why it is sweet.. sweet spaghetti and chicken is mostly prepared during kids party/birthdays. Before pandemic, it is where you mostly bring kids for a treat in the Philippines 😊 and we grew up having Jollibee with my siblings. So much happy memories 💕
Sweet Spaghetti uses Banana Ketchup, not tomato paste, that's why it's sweet, but it's a homey comfort food for a lot of filipinos. I personally prefer the palabok w calamansi/lemon.
The spaghetti is made with a mix of tomato sauce and banana ketchup, which makes it sweet. If you come here in the Philippines, fast food chains like McDonald’s and KFC have spaghetti it’s normal LOL. Because they are all competing with Jollibee. Try the other items next time.

Menu is definitely made for Filipinos who makes sweet spaghetti. It's a blessing for us here in the States that we get to franchise them here and so Filipinos can still enjoy food from Philippines

Jollibee is more popular then McDonald’s in the Philippine. It’s a national treasure to them because it came from them.

The spaghetti is more of a kids menu, Jollibee offers to capture both adult and kids customers. That's why they have a variety of food compared to other fast food chains.

Pilipino style sweet spaghetti is a common dish, mostly uses banana ketchup (yes it exists and it's red), hotdog, ground pork, cheese and from there it depends on there family recipe. Mostly eaten for meal, merienda (snack in Pilipino), parties and special occasions.
Spaghetti is seasoned with kids in mind. Every bday(kid) spaghetti is served. That is why our spaghetti is sweet.

You can make your jolibee bowl they sell side order of the corn and just add the mashed potatoes and put chicken pieces .

Jollibee is more for children fast food,so all Filipinos loved it,coz it reminds us our childhood.And we loved sweet in our spaghetti and some Filipino cuisines,we are not used on eating salty food like Americans that's why we understand that some don't appreciate it.

Filipinos like that spaghetti. It really caters to kids because of the sweetness. I personally dont like it and homemade Filipino spaghetti is fire though. But to say Jollibee should not put the spaghetti on the menu.....not necessary to say. It's a preference. Relax and just enjoy what you like.

I'm always curious about how people would react to Jolly spags because it's so far off from the hearty italian-styled ones. XD Believe me, you try the local versions - they're way sweeter (and creamier because for some reason, even I don't get why they put cream in the sauce, too - no it ain't carbonara XD). But when you've had the spag from childhood, it grows on you. I enjoyed the video! ^^

The spaghetti is marketed towards kids. But the kids before already grew up. so the grown-up Filipinos prefer that kind of spaghetti
I've only tried Jollibee once (just the chicken & rice lol) . It was pretty good but I remember one of the two being a little too salty . I would definitely give it another shot though & try the other things on the menu 😊

Although its a little insensitive to speak badly about a dish that's a staple in Philippine culture, I enjoyed the review. I actually like the spaghetti. But the best thing on the menu is the chicken, hands down. Next time you need a pineapple quencher. It hits on a whole different level. Stay blessed.

You didn't get the burger steak. The burger steak taste like Salisbury steak with rice (or a different carb that you pick) & mushroom brown gravy. Remove Burger Steak from the title of your blog.
