Thanks! Great lesson adn really pushes me to learn those arps.. The occasional mistakes make the lesson so much better. Don't edit them out. My playing is riddled with errors so it's refreshing to hear a real player make an occasional mistake or get lost in a progression..

Cheers! A massive part of practice is just reacting to mistakes!

Hi Andy. Can you recommend good exercises to learn there notes on the fretboard? In other words, I know what they are and how to find them but, it takes forever. It makes trying to use materials such as this impossible for me to do reasonably. Keep up the great work.

This is tricky. Couple of questions..
      *Are you 100 % on the musical alphabet eg A, A#/Bb, B, C, etc
*Do you know your octave positions?
*What have you done so far to work on this?
*If and when you use tab do you think fret 3 low e or do you think fret 3 low e and the note is G?

@@jazzguitarwithandy So, I know the alphabet and can read and play in first position. When using tab, I just focus on string number and fret number. But, I can tell you that 4th string, 7th fret is A. It just takes a few seconds to figure that out. I'd like to be able look at a chord written on staff or any lick and play it, instantly, on any position. Hope that makes sense. Thanx, Joe, Detroit.

@@jazzguitarwithandy Oh, thanx for your reply. Gotta get back to EPL now. :^) Are you a fan of The Saints? I'm not sure exactly where you're located.

@@pawlowski6132 A good win for the Saints I see. I support Wolves, who can't seem to get things going this season! Do you have an MLS team near you?

@@pawlowski6132 have you seen the Berklee Press book on sight reading positions 1-7 by William Leavitt? I used to use it at the start of my practice to just keep my reading in check. It advances through the positions. Maybe as you are working on the speed of recall you could try and create some drills. Eg. time yourself to find an Am7 arpeggio on each string and then across strings. You could work on reducing the time it takes. Silly, but it might help.
