  • These are located in my grandparent's house
    They used to live in UAE a long time ago so I'm not sure if they bought these there or here in Bangladesh but I'm pretty sure it's Bangladesh
    The front one (the one with the medallion) runs faster but has a slower low speed and a shorter spindown time which is a bit weird. Its gold ring is also a bit crooked (I fixed that later). The back one probably has some shaft issue which makes it very noisy. Also it runs faster than in the video most of the time. Anyways, they both have great airflow and quality. They don't wobble either even though they are probably 13+ years old. The paint is coming off a bit from the blades but that's not really noticeable
    Brand: GFC
    Model: Fantasy
    Colour: Off white with brown and gold deco
    Speed (RPM): Front 320, Back 260-275
    Made in Pakistan

    In Bangladesh is it typical to have fans on solid state/dimmer-type controls even in a house? I know some people don’t like the buzzing sound

      Yes, almost every house has dimmers and people don't really care about the buzzing sound. Even the National is connected to a dimmer and that makes it hum VERY loudly (the original regulator got lost many years ago though)

      And most fans here are actually meant to be controlled by dimmers, they aren't that loud at all (for example, the Bangladeshi National fan that I uploaded before this)

      @@trfans2010 Interesting, in most other countries outside North America, fans aren’t rated for dimmer-type regulators and are controlled using stepped capacitor or transformer based regulators. I believe India uses stepped regulators (?)

    Why was it making a grinding noise?

    • @trfans2010
      @trfans2010  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Probably a misaligned shaft or something related to the shaft. I actually never remember that one being as quiet as it should be
