i came to him with 3k gold, ended up with 8k gold and lots of ectos, eventually after a week of gambling ended up with 1k gold only.. tried to get back on track with 1k gold and eventually ended up with 200 gold and i quit it :D but on the other hand in a period of 3 months i dropped like 20ish precursors total so, its all good :D
Aww, a guildie of mine started out with 200g and 500 Ectos when she went for the 100 achievement and ended up with 2800g and 2000 Ectos! Got the jackpot!
Can't remember but the rates are really high now (Gems -> Gold) so it's a good time to do it within the Anniversary Sales that's going on during this month.
Because 1) They give me this awesome game to play (I've got 3.7k hours over the past 311 days), 2) I have the money. 3) I find farming gold (or any in-game currency) very inefficient compared to buying it using real life money.
Actually, this item is superior as it does not share CD with the TP. Having both would be optimal (so I can buy harvesting tool for my flax farm alts).
Lulleh2503 ye I noticed it too at the end, if you're a person with so much gold you can literally do that just for fun :D not like some guys creeping around with 20 gold xD but ye you can call it 0-100 :D
I really wanted the vendor, it wasn't some random fun thing I just came up with. :D The other vendor shares CD with the TP so it's super annoying, where this one just opens a window just like the bank.
Ya, the Permanent Merchant shares CD with the Trading Post or rather, multiple NPCs that are spawned like that can't be in the same place at the same time (also goes for other peoples).
Ecto gambling is a money sink as BL chests are. Even with max magic find and boosters, there's more chances to get crap than good drops. Otherwise no one would do anything else than gamble and it would ruin the economy… and the devs know that. You can start with 1k golds and loose everything in 5 mins… as you have a small chance to double your "investment"... and loose it all an other 5 mins later. When "earning" a few golds out of it, it can easily get addictive.

A bit, but I had to pay back the 25 stacks of Ectos I borrowed so I actually went minus 1k in the end, which isn't all to bad though.
